Does anyone know whether the P4 3.2 Extreme Edition or the AMD 64 FX runs FS9 the best? I'm assuming both are faster than the P4 3.2, but I could be wrong.

I have been running FS 2004 on an Apple 20-inch Cinema Display at 1680x1050x32 using an nVidia GeForce Ti4400 video card. I use a DVI to ADC adaptor to connect the card to the monitor. Flight Simulator looks just gorgeous with this setup. After reading all the glowing performance reviews, I decided to upgrade my video card to a Radeon 9800 Pro 128. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get FS 2004 to run on the Apple monitor with the Radeon card. Before returning the Radeon card, I thought I would post here and see if anyone has encountered this problem - and solved it, or whether anyone has any suggestions as to how I might get this setup to work.What happens is that wh…

I suddenly can't get into FS2004. When I try, the title page appears for about 3 seconds, then it disappears. I've tried rebooting. Any solution? Help! I'm suffering withdrawal pains.Raffie

Hi all,I have recently installed opensky's 747-300 (KLM) for fs2k4 and have noted the following:- C of G does not change when fuel settings and payload are changed. It remains at the nose of plane.- While cruising at 32000+ feet, throttle needs to be at more than 90% to maintain mach 0.80 or more. Nose up pitch is also more than 5 degs. Needless to say, fuel consumption is a monster.C of G issue has also been noted for opensky's 747-400 in demonstrator livery. Haven't flown it yet.Has anyone experienced this as well? Is there anything I can do to correct this behaviour? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone besides me having any probs with the Meridian for FS9 ?I'm having problems with intermittent lockups that clear up after a minute or two but are quite aggravating. No problems with any other aircraft pay or freeware.P4 2.4 533FSBGeForce FX5200 128mb512 Mb DRAMSB Audigy 2

Is this an upgrade to the 2k2 buyers?

Hi, I don't know how it happened but some of the panels in aircraft are only showing halfway. Not full size and when in some planes there is full panel, there is no virtual cockpit. I wish I could explain better. Do I need to go in and change something in the panel config. files? I have had the falcon 50 for long time with no problem, but I went to fly it the other day and no full panel. The panel is there but it small and flat not full size. Thanks for any help, S.

I just downloaded this nice peice of work and it is very framerate friendly as well as a nice job with graphics.My question for anyone out there is.......Is there a tutorial that demonstrates a typical flight so a new pilot can come to get more familiar with there new purchase. I am having quite a time understanding a few of the functions especially when it comes to tha APP phase....Anyone have a a suggestion....there is nothing in the POH that came with it....and I have checked there site.Thanks for the help

For those wondering about VFR England.Like some others, I decided to see if VFR Southern England worked in FS2004. First I made a restore point in XP.I plonked the files in the Scenery directory plus the flatten file & made the Scenery.cfg additions.I was very surprised to find that it worked far better than it did in FS2002. I landed at Heathrow 27L at 40 f/sec, unheard of for me.I was using the default 747, but there was real-weather with clouds.Maybe this flatten file is especially good. Default Heathrow. Blurring & slow texture draw has virtually disappeared. I'm using the new 56.12 driver with Ti4200 P4 3.01 512 ram Nvidia controlled anti-aliasing. XP Ho…

I have the Fokker 70/100 and Milton Shupes -7 in FS2002 and have had no problems. When I install these two planes in FS9 however, I often (not always) get a lot of static when I fly them. Sometimes it is so loud that it drowns out the engine noise. Seems to happen mostly when changing to tower or spot views. At other times it doesn't happen at all. Any clue as to what's happening here. I always fly using headphones and when the static occurs, I can't get them off fast enough - really loud. Thanks for any help.Jim

Hi,Well, I have been flying this beauty for a while and have one problem.Can anyone open the RSBN/NAS-1 navigation panel?, I have tried everything, I have tried opening the panels in the order it says in the manual but I still can't get it to appear.The toggles for it on the navigators panel just open up the autopilot panel.Please help, it would be a shame to let this problem mar a wonderfull add-on for me.CheersDan.

I recently got a new monitor and have been trying out various resolutions. Today I was looking at my fs9.cfg file and noted that there were two sections labelled [display.device...].The first was right after the [sound] section.[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra .0]Mode=1920x1440x32TriLinear=1The second was right after the [flightplanmap] section.[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra.0]Mode=1600x1200x32TriLinear=1Is this normal? Under "Settings", I had chosen 1600x1200x32. I am using the latest beta driver 52.70.Thanks.

I have seen many cockpit videos where pilots discuss their approach and missed approach during ther arrival briefing on a runway specific approach plate before landing. It seems that once they are on the approach, they are relying on ATC vectors rather then the actual plate which is always clipped to the yoke. They seem to ignore the plate. Why is this? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Hi all,I just picked up a copy of FS9 tonight, and it seems I am not the only one having problems with ATI and FS9.I get the tell-tale flashing triangles with my current driver. I have exhausted ATI's resources and also driverguide.com's looking for better drivers.Has anyone with the above card gotten it to work? If so, can you tell me where you got the drivers?I realize it's only a 32 mb card, but with Christmas coming, I just can't afford to upgrade to a better one yet. Thanks in advance,Jay

HiMy question is something related to "Memory Aperture Size" in Bios setting. I know that it is the size of mapped memory for AGP data, but is it related to graphic card performance? I mean that should I set this value to something related to my 256MB graphic card or its default value is ok! Once in a forum (I found via Google search) I was reading about this and the author's believe was that do not change the default value. It is for old cards. But I think it may affect on performance. Hey Corey I just thought I'd let you know that your 757 repaints have a problem at night with external lighting. It seems on your United, Continental, and USAir repaints when one turns off the landing lights the whole airplane goes dark except for the wing NAV lights. All other Posky repaints don't have this problem. All other Posky repaints still have the fuselage windows/tail lights lit up even when the landing lights are turned off. A totally dark jetliner at night is unrealistic to look at. Hope you will consider releasing a patch that would solve this issue because other than that I'm really enjoying your work...Thanks,Dillon--

Im not sure I understand the whole concept of frame rates. I mean, I get that 25 fps is fewer frames per second than 30, and thats likely smoother than a slower setting. I know how to set target frame rates in MSFS 2k2, but Im not really sure what the hit is if you just peg the slider as high as it can go. Why wouldn't everyone do that?

Hi all,I hope somebody can help me here.I have the Aeroflot Tu154 which I can take off ( just ) fly between 2 points but I cannot land it at all, unless crashing into the trees outside Omsk counts as landing. As soon as I slow down to just below 400kms to extend the landing gear and start lowering the flaps it just goes nose up and stalls every time. The auto pilot stops me trimming the nose back down and I need the auto pilot for an ils landing as I can't do any other :-)I can manage MS default Boeings ok and am wondering if the default planes are much simplified or if the TU is not configured correctly.If anyone can give advice on landing this thing I would be very grat…

I'm finding problems with some of the payware/freeware models I've down loaded for FS2k4 and maybe someone can help me understand. So many people have upheld the RealAir Cessna172 flight model over the default one. I don't understand this, yes the SF260 is awesome and in my opinion had one of the best flight models in FS2k2. But RealAir's 172 in FS2k4 does not have a better flight model than the default Cessna
