I saw it about 45 min. ago on "The Learning Channel." They were showing planes from the Wright Flyer to the Lear. They showed some shots of water effects too. A rather tasteful ad I thought. Just in time for Christmas shopping.Noticeably absent was any mention of the heavys.Did anyone else see this or am I the one that's behind times

All,Ok - navigating with GPS in a new 737 is easy... How did airliners navigate prior to that ??? For example on flights from San Diego to Hawaii. VOR's can't reach across the ocean - right ??? Thanks,Scott

Hi all !Currently running FS9 on a Dell P4 2.0 GHz, 128Mb RAM, GeForce3 and very disappointed with performance overall. The issue is not as much frame rates - granted they are lower than FS2k2 - but the stutter issue which I have read so much about on this great forum.I am not a computer expert and have made minor tweaks (mostly autogen) with no great success.I am considering a major investment (!!) now : buying a top of the line new Dell machine as follows :P4 3.2 GHz1024 Mb DDR400 RAMATI Radeon 256 Mb 9800XTWill this make my flying experience as good as it was on FS2k2 (I really had optimal performance imho) or do you think I will regret this EUR 2.300 investment ? In t…

Hi there, Typically, I set my visibility settings (FS2002) to either 10 or 20 miles, primarily because of the smoother and higher framerates this affords my system, even in complex areas. Realistically, what are typical visibility ranges in various weather conditions, e.g clear, overcast? Thanks for any responses.J.C. (MYNN)

Boy, am I envious.I'm looking at all those cool new jets for FS2004, but I want to stick with FS2002. Whats the big difference between the two in terms of add-on airplanes. Can we download brand new releases to use in FS2002 or are we just outta luck? The supply of new birds for FS2002 virtually ended when 2004 came out.

HiI've been wondering when exactly do airlines engage reverse thrust. Are they allowed to engage it when the nose wheel hasn't touched the ground but the main ones have, or does one have to wait until all the wheels are running along on a level surface?Another thought, are spoilers deployed after all the wheels are on the ground, or as soon as the rear wheels touch the surface?Cheershttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/46138.jpg

Ok, I've got the wave motion and I've got the aircraft reflections. But as we all know, Geforce4 440MX cards just can't do water reflections in FS9.Just as a matter of interest, does anybody know why the card can show FS2002 water reflections but not FS2004 apart from the fact that one is DX8 and the other is DX9? I presume aircraft reflections are processed differently to water reflections. Finally, I've seen posts saying that if you can move your water effects slider beyond half way, you've got a DX9 card. Well I can move my slider beyond half way but I know I haven't got a DX9 card so the above test isn't foolproof. Victor

Guys, been awhile since I have created any AI flightplans. I was using a little tool called AITE in FS2002, but its a little buggy and doesnt work in FS9.Whats the best freeware tool to create new AI flightplans with? I know about Afcad and TTools to compile and place the planes once done, but need to create some flightplans first.ThanksEric

I recently purchased 727 professional for FS 2004, and although it appears to be a great product, I can't get the windshield wipers to work even though there is a button that is supposed to do this. Also, does anyone know how to suppress the GPWS? This is incredibly annoying everytime you fly without the use of a glideslope and deviate from what the program thinks you should be doing. What can I do about these issues?

I just completed probably the most enjoyable flight I've had in FS in years. I departed CYHZ (Halifax, NS) and landed at CYUL Montreal Dorval, PQ) in my AirCanada Posky crj-200 with Marco Spada's crj2K4 panel. I had done a little tweaking and installed Lee Hetherington's TCAS. I taxiied from the gate at CYHZ behind an AirCanada flight bound for St Johns, NFLD, and immediately behind AC155 destined for CYUL. Each aircraft took off in turn. I shadowed AC155 all the way to CYUL; AC155 on the TCAS scope the whole way. Everything worked flawlessly. The approach was very interactive and I arrived in a string of 4 aircraft on approach. As AC155 was on short final another aircraf…

Often times when I am flying, I will notice out of nowhere that my airspees indicator reads "0", even though I am flying at normal cruising speed. I have been a private pilot for 2 years and this has never happened in a real plane that I flew, so why does this happen in MSFS 2004? Can anyone help?

I have been flying around a lot lately using the FS2004 ATC and have noticed that even though I have a STAR filed on my flight plan, whenever I get within 50 or 60 miles of my destination airport, ATC always vectors me on the giant square route that they did in FS2002. First I am vectored 90 degrees from the arrival runway then vectored straight in from 25 miles out. Is this realistic? It seems to me I read somewhere that one of the features of FS2004 ATC was that you could fly SIDs and STARs. I have no problem flying a SID because ATC leaves me alone to navigate but the ATC vectors near an airport have led me several times over noise sensitive areas and close to running …

Hello,I think someone tried to e-mail me and I accidentally deleted it. I know this post will probably just go down and then disappear into the history of pages of past posts but I thought I'd try anyway as you never know, the person might see this. If you are that person and you do see this, please e-mail me again. Or better yet, use the 'Profile' function of this forum to send me a message. That way I get an e-mail plus I have a record of it on this forum with a way to message you back (as long as you've created a profile anyway) until I delete the message. And it's not as easy to accidentally delete a message on here if you ask me. Well anyway, sorry if I missed you an…

I checked with EditVoicePack and according to the program, it has the Cedar Jet call sign which is the call sign for Middle East Airlines (MEA).However, for some reason the ATC is not using it.In the MEA A321 and A330 I have, the atc_airline is set to Cedar Jet which is exactly what it should be, but it's still not using it.The same goes for Armenian, it's not being used, yet according to EditVoicePack, it exists.Any ideas? All other major call signs such as Alitalia, Emirates, Lufthansa, etc. work fine.I use a mix of Project AI and MRAI flight plans, plus a few flight plans I created myself.Regards

I cannot get the A320 Posky to lift off in FS9. It appears that the plane is woefully underpowered and just won't build airspeed. I am using it in a Project Magenta set-up with a 321 airfile config with CFM engines. Also, the Center of Gravity will not change at all no matter how I configure fuel and passengers! Any ideas here. I also have the same problem using the PSS320 which was copied over to FS9 from FS2000. Has anybody done this and should the configurations be tweaked.

Fellow simmers, What in your opinion is the best 737 (free or pay) model with all the right pieces. I'm looking for a plane that I always go to because it's just right. I'd like it to be my startup plane as well. I want to put together the model, the most realistic external appearance (reflections +), the best flight dynamics, the best 2D panel, VC panel, the most realistic 737 sounds, and wingviews with animated parts and engine fan blades.I love the 737, and I've never found the perfect one. I'd also like to use the GPS in the FS9 program.I look forward to your recommendations. Stan

Hi,Can anyone tell me if it is possible to start a flight with only the plane and its shadow in Fs2002. Like a white or blue screen background.I want to make a video with just the plane in the saved jpgs. Then I wouldn't have difficulty cropping out the background.thanks alot.

I got a second monitor shortly before 2k4 was released. I cluttered it with all sorts of stuff for my GA flying...radios, swtiches, knobs, and everything shiny. Then 2k4 arrived, I fell in love with the clickable virtual cockpits, and now I can't figure out what to do with my second monitor! I don't want to put my radios and stuff over there, because I can get to them from the VC, and it's more immersive and realistic for me that way. But what should I put on the 2nd now? Thanks!

Hi all,I am having a terrible time taxiing around. No matter which aircraft, it doesn't seem to respond to the joystick. It will always bank real hard on the side, so much that taxiing has become the most difficult part of any flight. This is extremely frustrating and I don't think it was meant to be that way...Anyone having the same problem ?Help appreciatedThanksMike the rookieSpecialized in lawndarts

Hello everybody,Well, tweak tweak tweak... The terrain textures were blurry, slow loading both in FS2002 and FS2004. And never changes to the former FS2002.gfg or Fs9.cfg bios or Graphic card settings made a quantum leap difference. Until now.
