I usually don't fly beyond FL18 or so, but when I do I notice the line of demarcation between the detailed, non-blurry texturing and distance blurrification that occurs. A simple fix I've found, is setting the sight distance to 80 miles in the weather settings under Display settings in the game. You get the kind of dirty air haze effect with that, but gone is the demarcation issue. Is there any .cfg tweaks that will extend out the detailed textures beyond that magic line? Going trough all my projectAI textures, some are realy old and look....well....crap ;)I find lots of good textures here but most good once are in 32 bit and i would like to convert them to something smaller, should i use DX1, DX3, rezise? Dont find the need to have AI taking up 3 gig of hdd space :)Best way to not lose to mutch detail (spec the reflection) but still bring down the file size.Sorry for my bad spelling and thx in advance

I have a problem on the Meljet 744F (merged with PSS panel) in FS2002: whenever I change the fuel quantity through in the Aircraft>fuel menu, it only stays at the loaded quantity for a few seconds and then "jumps" to 100% again.How can I fix that?

I haven't used my FSim program since last year and, before I go out and purchase FS2004, I'd like to know from you guys how it compares in overall performance and framerates with the old FS2002 (assuming the same visual settings on both, i.e. all visual setting sliders set at full)?Also, a couple of more questions if you don't mind:+ Is there such thing as FS2004 "Professional" like it used to be in FS2002? Hi, I have noticed that in FS2004, I hit the airport search, I cant find these airports: Scarborough/Tobago - Crown Point (TAB)or Port of Spain/Trinidad - Piarco Int'l (POS). Has anyone been able to locate them in the sim? I think its the main hub for BWIA airlines.Thanks,Bill

some of the files i have download to install are of .txt format and the new version of afcad has no import tab to install them, Correct?I can only use the files in the library that are already .bgl files? Two of my last 3 flights in my 737 had problems with ATC. After I landed (at the reqquest of ATC), I was told to contact ground. When I did, I was not given any option to taxi to the gate. My options were numerous, but 7 of the 8 of my choices were to take off again. I never requested a touch & go. In fact, I was given full clearance to land. The 8th choice on the menu said "Taxi to parking ..." When I selected that, it only gave me more take off options. Anyone else notice this? Sometimes I get a full Ground Control directed taxi to the terminal, other times, Ground just seems to drop me after I land.Thanks for the help.Chris Catalano

I had to reload the World/texture file and accidently overwrote a set of replacement textures. These are the basic multi-season texture tiles of FS2004. I forget where I found the. They were quir=te nice especially for the Fall Season. Does anyone know what I am referring to and where can I get them.Thanks,Dick @KLBE

I downloaded one of these files and would like to install it. I picked up a copy of AFinstaller. My reading led me to believe that I just had to drag the ".txt" file onto the AFinstaller icon. The thing is is that the file contained in the zip was a .bgl, not a .txt. Also, when I first start AFinstaller, it asks me to "Please locate the flight simulator folder". Should I interpret this as the main FS2004 folder or should I browse to a specific sub folder.Oh yeah, and does anyone know if ProjectAI packages will take advantage of more operable runways/taxiways?Thanks in advance, Adam

A couple of local computer dealers have told me not to go for a flat screen monitor because their refresh rates, or as they see it lack of adequate refresh rates, will just drag FS9's performance down another notch.I would appreciate any feedback from users of these screens.Thanks.David

I am using Simflyers' KORD AFCAD2 with the airline parking assignments, but since by default only 9L/27R and 9R/27L are activated, after a few minutes, there is a big traffic jam both in the skies and on the active taxiways going to the active takeoff runways. Apparently, since the flight schedules are true to life (using Ultimate Traffic), so are the aircraft movements and two runways active for takeoff and two active for landing are inadequate for O'Hare. In reality, 32L is used a lot as well as 4L and 4R.So in the end the other AI aircraft in line for takeoff and my aircraft are sitting there for a long time and after a while, they start disappearing one by one becau…

I am wondering why ATC in FS9 always give me the shortest and smallest runway available for take-off. I fly the Boeing 737-700 myself. But although there are Boeing 747-400's present, everybody are directed to the smallest and shortest runway. Only that one is active. It feels stupid to stroll down that narrow path, while there is a wide boulevard right next to me.I know that I can change runway while requesting taxi, but I have to change every time. So is there a way to make ATC always choose the longest and biggest runway for me?Regards,Nico
