i noticed that when ai a/c startup the engine just starts running there is no cranking of the engine like for human players a/c.also when they go down the runway the engine speed/sound just stays the same, i havent been able to here them power up the engines.is there anyway to change this?, this would sure sound goodthanksciao!Brian S

I'm trying to load up Andoya AB, Norway ENAN. It keeps crashing to desktop. Upon loading, it gets to 56% terrain - just before loading scnenery objects and then suddenly crashes to desktop.I've seen this before, but my investigations have pinned the problem down to addon scenery - typically landclass.No such issues here, I've disabled Norwegian Airports, Lago terramesh and my landclass folder on the scenery menu. I'm beginning to believe that it's a problem with the default scenery. It seems to load successfully at nighttime but not daytime.By the way, I have not installed this railroad texture that many have recently talked about.Can anyone confirm this problem?

Have an Airline callsign in my airlines.cfg file but ATC doesnt call it. Please remind me how to get this done.ThanksBill

Guys,My question could had been raised long ago, but I wish to confirm whether th2 fs2k2 aircraft and panel can be used in fs2k4? I just purchased The Cheyenne from FSD. (Gmax version)Its a beautiful aircraft. Im very happy with it. However, I noticed on the outside view, the plane looks like all the windows are missing. In other words, I don't see any glass reflections. Ive noticed with Fs2004, The Glass effect on some planes don't show up right. Is this a problem with the cheyenne or with my video card are with FS2004? By the way , my video card is a Geforce 5800 using the latest Nvida drivers.Rob

My joystick works sometimes and at other times it's dead DESPITE the fact that the test in the calibration facility shows it to be working correctly.I'm hoping that reinstalling FS2004 will solve the problem but don't want to have to reinstall all my add-ons unless I really have to.How do I reinstall without uninstalling? Or isn't that possible?I'd appreciate help with this one.

Hi,Whatever happened to Eric Ernst? I used to use his excellent freeware 757/767 panels which he constantly updated with new mods. I've been away from FS for some time but I'm now back and greatly enjoy reading through these forums and, hopefully, contribute when I know enough about the hobby without asking dumb questions!KD:)

Heya all,I recently purchased an Abit fx5200 128 mb DDR ram video card sporting an Nvidia GPU + 8x AGP bus. Seems impressive. Next thing is, I load FS2002 and frame rates are practically unchanged from my GeForce Mx420, 64 MB RAM (4x AGP). You can imagine the frustration! My motherboard features a 4x AGP bus - could this be the key to the lack of performance?Answers, tweaking solutions appreciated!CheersStorm

I know you guys get tired of hearing this, but I need some help. I have been trying the diffrent tips and helpful suggestions every since 2004 came out. Here is the problem I'm having. There is a very noticable studder in the flow of the sim. It just does'nt run smooth. Like I said, I have tried all of the tips that I can find from here and other sites about clearing the "Studders", but I can't seem to get rid of them. I can keep my fps almost pegged at 25, so it's not a frame rate issue. It does this in all four veiws. It is worse when making a banked turn, or taxing around. I have the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke with the 3 throttle controls. For the throttles in FS2002, I had the Z axis mapped to the throttle, the X axis mapped to the spoilers, and the Y axis mapped to the mixture. I tried to do the same in FS2004. The throttle and mixture controls work on the Z and Y axis, but the spoiler control never works on any axis I assign it to. On any throttle axis I assign it to, the spoilers extend, but I can't get them to retract. It's almost as if they're "spiking" to extend. I've tried it with the throttle Y axis, and the same thing happens. This only happens with the spoiler axis assignment, because both the mixture and propellor axis…

You guys do wondeful work as usual.I'm wondering if the Posky Airbus is compatible with PSS A330 Panel.I've merged Pss Airfile and aircarft.cfg along with the Panel as one would normally do and altered the fltsim.xx to match that of the original Posky aircarft, but anytime I take a flight with the Posky jet, I can't seem to get passed 10,000FT...Any thoughts on this..ThanksTroy

For example, set your visibility to 1 mile (fog). The effect is pretty good if you're inside/under it. However, as you climb and increase altitude, the fog is now "under" you and somehow it only partially obscures the ground and is now almost transparent with all city/texture night lighting visible above. In real life, doesn't thick ground-level fog appear from above as a solid overcast?

Greeting all.Am currently running FS9 on a Vaio RX-5500 P4 1.8G w/512DDRHave recently installed a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and have beeen most impressed with it save one glitch. Installed the latest drivers from ATI last night in an attempt to eliminate the problem of not being able to limit visibility at night using downloaded WX. I get the dreaded hard horizon line after sunset when using downloaded weather. Downloaded WX with a limited visibility via the FS9.CFG yields a nice gentle horizon transition during the daylight hours regardless of reported visibility. I realize that the reported WX may indeed be vis in excess of 40 or so miles for my current position but limit…

Seen the custom water landing effects we've seen in the past, would it be possible to create such an effect for runways which would only be actived during, let's say heavy rain...? Good evening. What would you recommend me to use with FS9?2x17" monitors with one PC with Radeon 9700Proor 2 PC networked each with a monitor.I have the 2 monitors and the 2 PC. I have the hub and cables.I have tried 2 monitors on one PC but I can not concentrate on what to undock, where etc etc. Too old perhaps :-)I want to have on the left the external view and on the right the cockpit.I have spent 2-3 hours opening messages on the forums but they are too technical for me. I would like to find an easy tutorial. I have two favorite sky colors with fs2004 and I was wondering if you can change something in the fs9.cfg to reflect the sky you choose. The other two don't seem that realistic to me. The one with the grey haze and midlight blue sky reminds me of flying fs3 on my old tandy 1000TL system. The other is okay but the sky just seems to be a bit to light blue with white haze.Now onto the skies I like. I like to one with the deep blue sky with blueish haze and the medium to dark with the grey blue haze. Maybe I should show pics of what I mean.Also how many of you use Nils Danielson's sky and enviroment textures?I don't know if they look quite right on my system or not. The…

Hi,Has anyone been able to resolve the problem of a loss of FPS aftera reasonably long flight?? If so what tweaking or other action didyou take? I for example when going to an affected airport for thefirst time can get 5-7FPS more than if I have flown to the airport.I would appreciated any ideas on how to improve this situation ifyou can assist - thank youYoursJohn

Could someone tell me how it is possible to have an update for FS2004 and then when you want to IMPORT a flightplan, it will look for a fligtplan (not where FS9 saves it flightplans - not even FS2002 in myflts folder) in FS2000 (in the pilots folder) ... whao that's for sure a step in the right direction!Does anyone know a work-around for this?RegardsT

I have my FS2004 folder in my 'F' partition. And of course, Microsoft has fs9.cfg and other files placed in C:Documents........ unlike FS2002 where everything was in FS folder.Got 2 questions:1. Is there a way for me to copy (or move) the files found in the Documents.....folder to the FS2004? And of course for FS2004 to find and recognize the location of the new files?2. Do the traffic addons - Ultimate, Mytraffic, Pai, Fstraffic, etc.. add files in the Documents......folder?Would appreciate any response.Thanks.Abe
