Now that there are several new AFCAD files available for FS2004 I decided to try some of my older simflyers scenery, but there is terrible flashing of the ground textures with the base textures showing through the aprons/taxiways etc. Is there any fix for this? Or is is just something you have to live with?

1. In the documents for the POSKY 757 effects files are supposed to go into an effects folder. I can't find any effects files with the aircraft or the panel I downloaded. Are they somewhere else?2. Although I got the virtual panel, and I thought I installed it as the directions indicated, no gauges show up on the (virtual) panel. The 2d panel is fine. Are there more gauge files somewhere else I need to get?Thanks for any advice.

HiIs there anyone out there who can spare 10 mins to send me a screen shot of the default Omsk tsentralny airport ( UNOO ) in Fs9. It isn't an airport any 3rd party will ever make so if its better in 2004 I might be persuaded to upgrade.My email is [email protected] for any helpgraham

I hope someone can help me again. I downloaded the Malev tu154 and the textures for the aeroflot version. After altering the config file and renaming the texture file texture.1 I still don't get the new paint scheme in Fs. I just downloaded and installed Lonny Payne's POSky 757 panel update which includes his gauges in the VC, but some of the gauges are turning out to have a greyish background. I posted about this previously but the suggestion of cleaning temporary files didn't work. So I reinstalled FS9 to fix it but the problem has now cropped up again. I wonder if it's related to XP Pro's system restore?As before, the weather is stuck at certain settings when creating a new flight. It remains the same (clouds/visibility etc.) even if I pick a theme, real world weather or custom weather. Once I'm in flight it reverts to this same weather type and I have to change it through the menu.There must be a file somewhere or a registry entry that I can delete or edit to erradicate this without having to reinstall FS9 everytime?Please help!Paul

Thank heavens I kept FS 2002 ! Thank heavens....I thought about deleting it when I got FS9 but I held on, just in case. Am I glad I waited. FS9 has just been a bunch of headaches, one after another. Every time I solve one issue, something else pops up. Didja see my Desktop Madness in FS2004 thread? FS2002 runs smoother and better than Fs2004. I have it at 1600x1200x32 and with sliders mostly maxed, it runs at incredible frames and smoothly. Granted the scenery and clouds are somewhat inferior to FS2002, but it WORKS all the time. (It always did, of course, outta the box.)I also use FS2002 for my beloved PSS 744 and 777 a/c which don't work in Fs2004 with the PSS …

It seems that the new ATI 3.9 drivers for the Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics card has cured all the prior problems, flickering etc., is this correct?Is it worth to upgrade to the 3.9?I have never downloaded drivers before, and I am assuming that I should first remove the old drivers by going to the software removal in Win XP. Is this correct?After I have downloaded the drivers to my desktop, is the installation automatic via an .exe file? I have never used the Ultimate Traffic or any thing like this before.I downloaded both ..the 2002 Ultimate Traffic and the 2204 upgrade file.1. I installed the 2002 Ultimate traffic in the FSim9 folder2. I am running Windows XP and FS9. I decided to create a bare bones user profile for FS9 so that all of my system resources would be available for the sim. My problem is that when logged in as my FS9 user profile the sim is kind of flaky. Some of the addons such as Activecamera that work in my main profile show as unregistered in the FS9 profile. Any suggestions? Does what I am trying to do make sense? Thanks for any help or guidance.Bob

Hi guysWell I got my new machine but I'm having a small problem and no techies in my neck of the woods seems to know the answer so I thought I would ask here and see if any of you know. When I download any file, instead of being asked what I want to do with it, ie. where to download it to, Internet Explorer just dumps it into the temp internet folder. It doesn't ask or anything, just starts the download and puts it there. I've reset my IE6 settings to default but still no joy. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance. BBjorkman CFI

Does anyone know where the approach paths stored AI traffic in FS2002 and FS2004...is it possible to edit these paths?? I've noticed in FS2004 the AI traffic can actually do the LDA/DME approach for 26L at Honolulu (If you're not familiar with this approach it brings you in on a localizer off 26R on a 304 track and then you crank it over 40 degrees at 2 miles and land on 26L) anyways, is there anyway at all to make FS2002 do this with AI traffic?? Is there a file you can drag over from 2004 to 2002?? Notusing 2004 for many reasons, but would like that approach :)Thanks,Chris

Just installed Lyons latest textures (11/7/03)- I installed and test drove the windy water textures, and all I have to say is (think Tony the Tiger) They're Grreat! I can think of no negative criticism with these. I don't know how he did it but when you look straight down you can see cloud reflections in the water and as you look out the waves gently rise and fall to what I think would be the correct height. And the reflection of the sun on the water? The best I've seen yet.

Hi allI had FS2002 installed but had to reinstall it after a 3rdparty gauge messed up the default gps gauge. Now I seem to be missing a lot of runway textures. I.E. Meigs and Chicago Intl are now gravel/grassy strips instead of the proper runway textures.Any ideas as to what happened?Thanks

I was shooting an autoland at Portland, RW 28R ILS. Well the plane was tracking the apparent ILS straight into the terminal, between the runways!
