Good Afternoon, All.I am very new to this community, and was wondering which files are considered "Must Have" for FS2004.I am really enjoying the game and have downloaded a few files.Some are simply amazing. But there are SO many files to choose from, I was wonmdering if anyone has already narrowed the field.Also, what is with the airport AFCADs or whatever. What are these things and what do they do?Finally, can anyone recommend a scenery file for the NYC area?Thanks in advance from a newb!

Summat funny up. When I download the Balearic mesh recently uploaded, all I find when I unzip it is the dreaded "Hello, I'm Avsim, fly me" file. Yet the zip says it's full of 5MB of stuff.I remember reading something about how some files hide occasionally, but I've got everything ticked in my VIEW FILE options i.e hidden, system, etc. What am I missing, apart from a life? I get avg fps of 26-34 on every view EXCEPT the 2d panel. It does not matter what screen res I am running, or if I have sliders maxed or not. It is wierd, but the sim runs better with everything maxed. Where my frame rates drop is at the 2d panel, where it drops to 10 and sometimes even less. Is there a way I can get better performance with thye 2d panel?Thanks.Conrad

The overcast thing with the 3D clouds was driving me crazy so I switched back to the 2D so I could shoot some approaches through an overcast layer and it is still not generating an overcast layer. Does anyone know what is going on?ThanksKevinAthlon 2600+Win2000512 Ram5600FX 256MB video

I've been loading up my AI with real world airlines to populate some of the AFCADS I've developed (and uploaded here at AVSIM) I can't locate the items below. Any help or direction would be much appreciated: I would like to find the following: DHL flight schedule for the US and Pacific (only European FPs seem to be available at the main AI sites. Champion Air flight schedule. A major charter airline out of KMSP their flights appear on several vacation package sites. No times are given but a flght schedule could be constructed and times assumed. BAX (Burlington Air Express) voicepack. Can't find a…

I hope someone out there..perhaps Mr. Greg can help....I've downloaded his 737 panel for fs2004...it is a very good panel...however the dll sounds will not losad with fs2004...Mr Greg does address this problem but when I try the solution[adding a line in the fs9 config file] it does not work....so I can't load the crew announcements or the taxi program....does anyone know how to get around this problem or Mr Greg's email??...it's a great panel...just want it to work right..thank you all

Hello!I was wondering if there is any way to use the cloud sets from Skywolrd SE to replace the 2D clouds in FS2004?I can use the 3D clouds in FS2004COF with OK frame rates, but since I have a lower end system (1Ghz), the 2D clouds are still the best choice for smoother sim operations.So if anyone has figured this out, which files in the texture folder would I need to replace with the ones from Skyworld SE.I don't know if this is possible, but it would be nice to be able to upgrade the 2D clouds in FS2004COF just like I did in FS2002.Any feedback is appreciated!Happy Simming!Scott - KCOSATP/CFII - in the real aviation world.

What are the little circles above the panel, with a little white P and two green buttons that turn yellow when you touch them...look at the pics...no documentation to describe....it is on the centerpost of the windshield....right above the glareshield...is it a pushback gauge? No one knows!

I downloaded and installed this free package from FS Genesis and am greatly impressed. As I said to my wife "This is great. Now we don't have to go on holiday. We can fly low and slow and see all the sights."On a more serious note. After I first installed it I was on a flight returning to London Heathrow from Gibralter. Dear "someone who knows",When filing an IFR flight plan, what are the restrictions or guidelines for when it's okay to use a direct to routing? How about the alternatives, such as vor-to-vor or airways? Are there hardware requirements such as multiple GPSs?Thanks,sg

FS9 is great, if you have the machine to run it. I can totally understand why you wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it with your system. Honestly, Microsoft should really revise the minimum specs for the game. Put fs9 on the shelf, and eventually when you get a new machine, reload it and give it another try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

So I'll try here.I have a Compaq Evo N1000v Notebook, Pentium IV, 256 Meg of RAM, Radeon Mobility 7500 video card, and plenty of hard disk space. But I can't get FS 2004 to run. It freezes on me at the opening screen. I did the full install, which went okay. But it froze on me. So I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it using the Custom install, Compact version. Still no joy. I went to Microsoft Support for the game, tried the various suggestions mentioned there. Still no joy. BTW, I live in Mexico. A phone call to Microsoft Tech Support could get expensive.Could anyone…

hI, I am having a Problem evertime i boot up mu Computer, I get a IPHLPAPI.Dll, Failed to load error! Now i treid to replace the DLL with a new one from this site http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/dll_iphlpapi.phtml, but everytime i try to overwrite or Delete that IPHLPAPAI.DLL, it says cannot delete or rename or Overwrite, as file is in use by Windows!?? So How the Hell am i supposed to repalce or fix this DLL if i cannot replace the bad one?? Depending on my mood, and how much time I have, I can be really realistic when flying a FS route, like snapping off each checklist properly, starting the plane cold and dark at the departing airport, following ground instructions to a T, and doing everything else just right. But sometimes I pull out and pass AI planes on the taxiway, race an AI plane for final-approach position, and maybe land anyway when one of the #@!#$%& AI planes wont clear the runway.So Im asking: How realistic do you fly?

Hello All,I was watching Discovery Wings the other night, (ok, I watch it EVERY night.), and they had a great section on KMEM and the Fed EX opperations there. I have to tell you I was really amazed.In looking at the scenery of 2004, I see one section of KMEM which I am sure is the Fed EX operations buildings . . . or perhaps could be.How bout all you scenery guys doing a bang up job on KMEM and the Fed EX building with ALL the Fed EX traffic going in and out for Ai.That would prove really interesting.Also, some one needs to make a scenery enhancer like Lago did, for 2004, so dumb guys like myself can have some good scenery. Flying the LJ45 I can not find the DME 1 or 2 switch? I can not find how to do an engine shutdown after automatic start? I can not shut off the fuel. I can not do anything to shut this aircraft down. Right-I have not read all the checklists, still flying it by the seat of the pants. Doing well at that. I use guesstimates on the numbers. I plan to study the materials in detail next month when school is out for the holidays.Any help?
