After about 5 minutes, real weather kicks out into user defined weather. (I usually notice when the precip stops). it always seems to start off fine. does this happen to anyone else, can you think of any reason why this would keep happening? hopeful & sincerely, Xudes/.

I have had some strange reactions with the throttle under my MS Sidewinder Prec 2.After installing the FS Flight Sim Yoke I can see the same thing when calibrating under Windows. The throttle value seems to change in steps rather than continously if you examine the graphical representation of the axis values. But when displaying raw data I could change the value by one (out of 255). In FSUIPC where valuesis displayed as 16 bits integers the value changes around zero to 64 then 192 but no finer steps (I think the steps was greater with MS SW Pre 2 but I'm not sure. Dear All,I installed the beautiful RJBB scenery by K. Miyazaki on FS2004 (I know, it was designed for FS2002). However, I am now getting "Building Collision" message eventhough my plane is nowhere near building or other structure. I do not get this kind of error in FS2002.Is there anything I can do to prevent this (other than disabling the crash detection - which is not ver realistic IMHO)? Or is this the punishment for my sin for installing an FS2002 scenery in FS2004? :D Regards,JAP

I am thinking about a new videocard because of the graphics isssues that I have with 64mb. I have tried to improve the quality of the graphics with my megascenery by going into the fs9.cfg and changing the values, and it still seems to degrade so I guess I am thinking that 64mb isn't big enough. I would like to get a videocard for today and tomorrow meaning it will work nicely with fs2004, fs2006, and hopefully to fs2008. On my other HDD FS works fine. I am using the CH Virtual Pilot Pro (serial unfortunately). On my planes I will set a power setting then it will drop off about 5-10 secs later. I have to reset it and then it does it again. I have tried setting the sensitivity and Null. I sett it up in FSUIPC. I calibrated my joystick. If any of you out there can cure this problem please help me do so. ThanksJack

FolksI'm seeing a big decrease in FPS and stutters after having installed FSUIPC 3.12. Same problem with 3.11, 3.10 runs fine.Is it just me or my machine or is anybody else out there with this problem ?ThanksTSE

Anyone managed to get the wonderful new AN-24RV to do a coupled ILS approach?From reading the manual it should be do-able, but I can't seem to get the settings right on the various panels to get it to actually track the localiser and glideslope. I think I'm missing something simple with settings in the SPU or the overhead, and I'm specially lost on the use and functions of the Navigator panel. I'm guessing there nust be a detailed russian manual with much more info than the english translation, and there must be someone out there who can translate it !Allcott

Hmmmmm... okay, I'm a geek. I have potentially too much time on my hands. I recently found a remote desktop access program called TightVNC, open source, free, nice. It's got a decent refresh rate. In the midst of playing with accessing my home computer from work (on lunch break of course... hey! hush!), I decided to try Flight Simulator. I got about what I expected, about a frame every two seconds, but it kept conking out on me after about a minute or so, and I would have to reconnect. That made the question arise... do any of you use or have you used a remote desktop program to launch flights, and if not to launch then to monitor those flights that are long haul? …

I don't understand why the Posky 757 struggles beyond 20000 feet.I'd started with 70% fuel and progressively wound the climb rate back to 600 fpm with deicing on.With engines apparently running at full bore on autothrottle, it struggles to hold 200 knots IAS and eventually pitches up to a stall.This has happened to me twice (out of 2).Anybody else having that problem with the 757?The reason I mention the panel is a)it's complicated and I may have missed some buttons :( I think the panel installation alters the aircraft.cfg file.Anyone else had this trouble?

I noticed that FS Meteo sets gusts incorrectly. If the METAR says, e.g., 30012G20KT, the winds will actually gust to 32, not 20 knots.I'm using FS Meteo 6.3, FS9, FSUIPC 3.12. I verified this with the FSUIPC weather log. In the FSUIPC docs, it says that gusts should be specified to FSUIPC as relative offsets, not absolutes. That is, for the example above, gusts should be 8, not 20.Of course the result is ridiculously strong gusts. I've had to disable gusts when using FS Meteo for now.Just thought others might want to know.Dave

When FS9 works, the eye candy is gorgeous (the clouds, the autogen, the SRTM) but never have I encountered so many frustrations. For every hour of flying there are two hours of trying to get FS9 under control. CTDs are starting to come under control (probably until I start-up tonight). I have purchased the CH Flight Sim Yoke USB which I use with FS9 and Win XP.I had CH Rudder pedals before. Now after installing the Yoke I no longer have any break controls with pedals. I reassigned the axis to right left brake but it didn't help. In FSUIPC the left and right brake axis shows no value response when I press the pedals. Also I had a CH Control Manager program installed which wasstarted when I calibrate the pedals. This program no longer starts at calibration.What could this be?

Believe it or not, I'm just now getting time to spend with FS2004 even though I bought it the day it came out.Today I dicided to do some flying in the R22. Following the checklist, I can't for the life of me find the avionics master switch. Am I overlooking it, or did they forget to add it?Also, the CHT always seems to max out at the redlne no matter how I fly it. What am I doing wrong here?

When I load the Project Fokker 70 in FS9, I get an error message that the PF70 Blanski gauge can not be loaded.. if I proceed, I get the panel without the radios and autopilot.I've heard that others have not encountered this problem.. is there a known workaround, interim to the FS9 version being released?I've disabled the gauge and substituted the Bendix King autopilot, which works fine, but does look out of place..

I was doing some tweaking tonight with my system and noticed something very strange. I had seen this before once or twice but just thought it was a texture or mip issue. Go to any airport and park your running plane..default or add on...on the runway. Now observe the edge of the runway texture and the terrain just beyond it. The runway is jiggling every now and then as if its sliding on top of a greased pan!!!!! I tried this at several random airports tonight and they all did it.I'm wondering if its something specific to my set up or settings here, will do some more testing tonight or tommorow morning.In the meantime, I'm interested to see if others are seeing this also. …

I'm thinking of buing a new graphic card, mainly to improve my AA and AF settings, as they and resolution have the major influence on my performance, especially in heavy weather (complex cloud settings).Would a good GPU improve performance with high AA and AF settings or are those CPU dependent?Wolfgangedited, because I forgot to mention my current sys specsP4 2.4 Ghz512 DDRGeForce 3 Ti200Win XP Pro

Sometimes when I'm using IFR flight plans, the ATC will want to make me land on a runway without ILS. That's okay except I don't want to do that. So I tell the controller to "standby" etc and I request a new approach from the controller, the ILS runway of my choice. I choose "Vectors to final".For exmaple Tonight I was flying into Honolulu in a 747-400. The controller gave me 4R by default, so I requested 8L(ILS) when I was beginning my decent because I prefer an ILS runway for the 747.Why does the approach controller tell me "Cleared ILS Runway 8L, circle to land 4". Re: Ancient Brit's Grand Canyon flight uploaded recently... THANK YOU!!!! This looks like a heck of a good time and it looks like it took some major effort to put together with over 600 waypoints.I crashed about 4 or 5 minutes in to the flight. I am sure this is because I am running FSGenesis' 9.6m Grand Canyon mesh. To fix this, I just set the autopilot to 100 feet higher and all was fine until about 7 minutes in when I crashed in to the canyon wall. It looks liek enough is different with the different mesh. I had a HD crash last week and had to reinstall everything now when I go online I don't see other traffic thats flying.I used to be able to see other aircraft and they would show up on tcas now nothing.I have everything set right I hope,AI Bridge is working and I am in a multiplayer session on FS9.Squawkbox is working ok also so I don't have a clue any ideas?
