I know I could probably start a war with the topic of 'what do you hate, what do you love' in regards to FS2004. I still enjoy the flexibility to bring stuff in from other sims. Like in the picture below - a model 21 Zero from Simviation using sounds and my favorite panel from CFS2. The sim loads & runs it all without fail. My utmost favorite frankenstein job has to be my latest Spitfire. Hello guys,I've got some problems with my Radeon 9700pro 128mb card.I can't get the anti-aliasing to work. I'm using FS2002pro with all sliders to max. The system I'm using is a P IV 3,06GHz with 512MB RD RAM.Anyone happens to know what's wrong?

Which is it to be? I currently have 256MB and Geforce4 440MX 64MB.I am going to upgrade to a 128 MB Radeon 9600 but do I go for the "normal" 9600 and add another 256MB (?) of RAM or do I go for the 9600 Pro and leave it at 256MB? Would the benefit of the extra system RAM outweigh any loss of performance between the 9600 and 9600 Pro?

I run FS9 on an AMD 2600XP w/1G ram. A post about a month ago about new Nvidia drivers caught my eye so I loaded them. Man what a difference! The increase in frame rates was great! Then I saw this shareware program called "Tweak XP" and decided to not leave well enough alone. It has a tab called "vidio tweak" or something like it (I've removed the offender from my system). It did something, but now my FPS are worse than before the new drivers. I've tried changing the settings in the control panel for FS9 and they're still in the low teens! Any suggestions would be welcomed. Also, is there any way to have a different aircraft show up as the default in the flight planner? I…

I just noticed that the start time FS indicates for when I am setting up a flight on the setup screen is 1 hour shy of the correct time for any changed location entered during setup. For example, when I launch the program and the default flight comes up on the screen at KSEA, the time is correct for PST. However, if I then move the start location to KSFO, which is in the very same time zone as KSEA, the program shows the time as 1 hour earlier than what PST should be. And if I move the start location to KJFK, the program shows the time as being 2 hours ahead of PST instead of 3 hours. Any thoughts as to what file may have gotten corrupted to cause this problem? Maybe some of you already know me, I am a panel developer and most of my work is freeware. My web site is hosted by a free host (free.fr), and I am experiencing big trouble to access my files, so it is very difficult for me to update my web site regulary.For this reason, I am looking for another free place to host my files, I need around 100 MB. While being vectored to FAF, say from about 40 to the FAF, what should my target speeds be?I fly the Falcon 50 exclusively in FS2002.I'm estimating around 220-210ias, then at the FAF or within 10nm of airport, slowing to under 200 to get the leading edges out in preparation for slow flight. Is it ectched in stone or dependednt on pilot feel or is there a standard speed for the phase of flight.It seems the big jets try for like 220ias but I hear them often getting slowed to 180ias by ATC.Thanks all.

Does anybody know how to go about removing the Apollo series radios from the Maule that was recently released? This is a beautiful airplane that I am enjoying very much, but frankly dont like those radios. I'd prefer just the default MS stack...or at least a panel alternative that has the basic stack and GPS. For FS2002 I had a small program that automatically saved your current flight at random times in case you did something stupid....like crash! Then you can go back to the saved spot and try again. I can't remember the name and don't know if it will work with FS9. Any help would be appreciated.Jim Burke

We are now including the latest weather data with each Weather Maker Adventure. Included is: - Airmet Reports - Turbulence Reports - Metar Map of the area of flight - Radar and Satellite PicturesThe first one does not include this, but the second and third do.Let us know what you think.

I have a registered version of FSUIPC. I have never witnessed turbulance during flight and would like to know how i can see it. What do I have to do to see it??? I know turbulance is a major part of flight....what is going on? ThanksBrad Zimmer

Hello allI'd just like to bring this immensely useful freeware gauge to the attention of those who may have missed it.The author is Rob Barendregt and his work is excellent, I had some troubles at first but after some correspondence with Bob he immediately worked out a solution.Two versions are in the Avsim library and I am sure the additional fix will follow soon.Regards to allken ellis

Like many here, I was experiencing random hard lockups in FS9. The lockups that result in frozen display, stuttering sound, and no way out except hitting the reset or power button. It got much worse when I recently installed a new AMD Barton processor and upped the FSB from 133 to 166 MHz. I couldn't complete a single flight without a lockup. Sometimes it happened before I left the runway.I tried all the fixes that have been mentioned here and nothing worked. Finally last night I noticed that the DDR voltage in my BIOS setup was 2.5v, the default on my Soyo MB. In poking around the Corsair memory support forum, I noticed that they recommend 2.7v, and will still honor …

There was a post a long long time ago about the correct way to install display drivers. I searched for it but found nothing. I was just wondering what is the correct way to go about installing a new display driver? I remember it was a long process. How I've been doing it is just using the Nvidia installer and installing over the old ones. But I've noticed my performace in Fs2004 slowly getting worse. So, I want to change my driver, so my next easy question... what is the best drivers for a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 128mb card for FS2004? Also, like I said.. Has anyone felt the need, or seen an improvement on installing any upgraded or add-on trees in FS9? For example Gerrish's trees that were so well done for FS2002.If so, what trees, and how'd they work out?Joe

I, like many of you, changed water textures in FS9 from default to Bill Lyons' textures, and then variations of these started popping up. I got caught in the "change texture mentality" and now I believe I have the calmer wave texture. Now, I seem to be getting some weird shadows and zig-zag type textures when flying over oceans.Please....what is the final verdict on which texture is best for FS9 water ....including Ocean texture. I would appreciate hearing from some of you, and hopefully helping me restore my water to the most pleasing and REALISTIC look available. Have searched the forum for terrain.dll problems but found nothing so did my own research.I always seem to be experiencing crashes to desktop or crashes when using map view, gps or the weather (basically anything that uses a map). Last night I tried every comination of addon and default scenery and planes and in full screen and windows mode. Still the crashes persisted when using anything to do with the map.This may be me being a bit slow but, on the weather settings there on the far right is a little icon that toggles "terrain" and my maps do indeed show the terrain. This little light bulb in my head suddenly flashed and said untoggle this and see what happens. So I did …

Has anyone successfully executed the Doctor?Clicking on the executable resulted in this message: "FS2004 is not installed on your machine". I beg to disagree. I downloaded the program three additional times thinking perhaps corrupt info was involved and the same message was displayed.Any thoughts? I'd like to find a new Doctor.Chris
