I know this all probably irrelevant in the sim, however, what is the Emergency Ground Clearance on the overhead for?How come the Meridian only has wing lights (nav, strobe) and not an anti-collision and/or recognition like most other planes? Why did Piper not add these?Also, the overdrive. When is that used?Thanks, Chris

hi,i'm currently trying to marry CS 727-100 to RP 727 panel(nr 3)as the original CS panel is sending my FPS down the drain ;-)(it IS a very beautiful panel though,and once i get the hardware i'll be flying it!)however,i cannot get it to function.does anybody here have an idea how to do it,and which cfg to use for the 727-100?should i use Charles Fox his CFG ,or the original CS?i'm flying 2k2 btw.appreciate reactions,regards,

Hi,one month ago i bought a new graphic card Gigabyte nvidia fx5200.My first opinion was really bad.In fs2004 the picture was flickering,stutter.Everything i had tried in the settings doesnt resolve the problem.Untill i changed the settings to nvidia menu antialiasing controlled by application to 4x.Now the picture in the game is clear with no stuttering,flickering.But now my fps jump from 18 to 3 every some seconds,sometimes stay to 2fps,and the game pause for some second expecially in different view,zoom modes.If i turn again the antialiasing to controlled by application then the fps are stable but the picture is really bad....please help... Here's the deal: I'm flying FS8 (2002). Most of what I've done under IFR rules so far has been up and down the West Coast of the US to airfields at or around sea-level elevation. Transitioning from feet to flightlevels at 18,000 I'm careful to re-set the altimeter to standard pressure (29.92 in hg). During descent I'm cleared down, initially to 15,000 or 16,000 by the high level center controllers, without information as to the current altimeter settings, and am usually given a lower clearance and passed off to the lower level controllers BEFORE reaching the first assigned altitude. Are there any decent airfiles for the default C182S in FS2004?RealAir made freeware airfiles for both the C172 and C182 for FS2002. The C172 has been updated for FS2004 but I found no update for the C182. Has it been updates? Has anyone else developed a good airfile?

I have a SB Audigy 2 sound card and I'm having trouble with a number of engine sounds in FS9. I tend to get a hissing in the higher frequencies with some planes that's become really annoying. I've run the diagnostic software that came with the sound card and have double checked the wiring of my 5.1 speakers. There appears to be no problems there. As a few examples, in MAAM's B-25 the external sound is fine, but at take off and cruise speeds the internal hissing sound is quite bad. The internal sound of the Real Air Decathalon has noticable hissing as do a numnber of other planes. I'm starting to consider deleting FS9, but before I do, I thought I might try to find some so…

Has anyone other than myself downloaded Glenn Johnson's new Armstong New Orleans scenery, excellent FPS btw, and noticed the main building where the terminals connect appears to be missing textures? It appears that that building is all white. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

On my high altitude IFR maps (H-1 though H-6) they have VFR or VFR On Top in the cruising altitude "compass". What does VFR On Top mean, and why is it there if no VFR is allowed above 18,000 MSL?Chris

I just installed the Spongebob Squarepants 747-400, but ATC doesn't announce the name SPONGE as I hoped it would. Which field in what file am I supposed to change to get this to be recognized. I've tried everything I can think of and included the name in the airlines.cfg file too.Appreciate help, thanks!JS

Greetings!Spurred on by Steve Cartwright's recent Bear's Cave review, I downloaded the Tu-154 today and copied it into FS9. The plane is a visual treat, but I'm encountering a problem: whenever I try to load it, I get a CTD. Casting about for a solution to this behavior, I renamed the panel folder and substituted another one (777 default). The plane loads fine that way, but I don't get to utilize and explore that awesome Tu-154 panel. The VC for it shows up, but it's not populated by any gauges, of course.I'm hoping that someone with recent experience with this plane can clear up my difficulties. I just installed the CarrierOps package into my Viper with the Eric Marciano panel. Everything works fine except the meatball HUD. The problem may be that I'm using 02, but the HUD is not transparent as in the examples. All of the meatball gauges show up but they are inside of a black panel. Can anyone help?

When I download realtime weather I see windows telling me that realtime weather is downloaded. But then I never see this window again. Is this normal? I noticed 2 weeks ago, after I had installed Paul Bradford's tweeked cfg file, that my fuel gauge didn't work. This was a very good tweek but had some issues too. I had also installed the Kittens by Yannis Gakis (Fs-Icarus Crew) and enjoyed flying those. This cfg has those installed. Since FS2K I have found a problem with the glide slope of runway 4R at the Nice Airport (LFMN): when using the ILS approach the A/C will run beyond the runway without coming to the ground.The same problem happens in FS2K2.Today I saw a file, to be installed using AFCAD, that would result in slight changes in the location of the localizer and glidepath. I installed it but the problem persists: following the glidepath the A/C passes over the threshold of the runway some 300 feet above. The VASI lights show that I am too high.For the runway 4L everything is OK, and I come to the runway normally.Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there any correction for it?I hope someon…

Hiya there...Short question; is it possible to change the refresh rates manually somehow in the aircraft .cfg. I just bought a great add on with an amazingly clear VC, but the refresh rates wich are way too low make it almost unusable in late night or low visibility approaches, wich sucks beyond cuz I almost exclusively bought it for the purpose of using it in VC mode. Hello,Just started out with a new TRACKIR2. It is a little twitchey at this point. It looks like a big help to me in flying "combat" things like my CS 104 and Yak. It really looks great on BUBBLE canopy planes.What I would appreciate is if anyone has "Profiles" for the TRACKIR2 that are very "visulally friendly" There are a few on their website and I am trying to learn how to make my own. I would like to know if anyone knows if the 'plates' from this product can be displayed in FS9 3D mode (non-windowed) in any reasonable way, shape, or form??I know that it is possible via windowed mode (fps hit!).
