The new NVidia GeForce 5700 card and MSFS2004...ugh.I'm still stumped on how to get this card working with MSFS2004 without crashing it.Situation: Upon installing the card, the monitor would simply go to black. Sometimes it would reboot itself with multiple wierd color presentations upon restart, other times I usually would have to shut the power off at the surge protector."Solution" #1: I went and bought a new 430W Antec power supply and changed the physical board location (on advice from NVidia) of my ehternet card to another slot (the IRQ showed both the graphics board and the ethernet in slot 16...go figure.Outcome #1: Seemed to work fine...except when I spent a few m…

does the B-25J Briefing Time, have a true auto pilot that works likethe one on the DC-3 that comes with FS2004. It would make long flights a lot better.

Has anyone downloaded the file se.f14bv2 for use in Dino Cattaneo's F14B (file f14bfs9a.zip)?I like the new panel, but when I use the standard FS9 shift+3 keys, the FS crashes. Actually the FS freezes and shows no error message or shutdown message. This is a repeatable crash on my system. I don't have this problem with other jets. Anyone else tried shift+3? Normally this should display an instrument or something like that. Per John, it should bring up the RIO (which stands for?). I have installed the default components only for this panel. I don't really need the RIO, Apollo GPS, Radar, etc., that are not part of the README install.thanks,David

Has anyone been to Gibraltar in real life lately? Didn't there used to be a hill or something there? According to Microsoft there is now nothing at all but flatlands, I didn't think when the Spanish Government said they wanted Gibraltar back they were going to physically take the rock away, anybody any idea where it's been moved to? perhaps you wealthy Americans have bought it and placed it alongside our London Bridge or the Queen Mary. This is my opinion based on rigorous testing over the past 24 hours. A couple days ago I uploaded four tutorials for FS2004, in which the user installs new scenery in the FS9 Scenery Library, downlaods and installs new aircraft from Project AI, adds the new aircraft to the Traffic Tools Aircraft.txt file, and creates a simple flight plan within the Traffic Tools Flight Plans.txt file. I hope someone does some mesh for the Grand Coulee Dam area of Washington state. Of all the Dam areas in FS2k2 and FS2k4 this has to be one of the worse overlooks I have yet to see. Why in the world would Microsoft bother modeling this dam and not the topography around it. It's really bad...

I use two monitors but not as much as when I used FS2002. I fly the aircraft on my main monitor and display the TACs that Matt Fox uploaded on the other monitor. My problem is that, though it works the map splits itself between the 2 screens when FS 2004 starts up. If I drag the map to fit the second screen, FS2004 powers down to the bottom icon bar. I'm using XP, the latest Nvidia drivers and 4600 Nvidia graphics card supporting 2 monitors. As far as I can tell the software is correctly loaded.Any ideas,KFD

Hello, after a search of the Avsim forums, I was not able to find a solutin to my problem with this wonderful panel. I am using v2.2 in Fs2k2, but when I load the panel, I am only able to see the pfd ( which always has Eric'e copyright mark displayed), the HSI (all the navaids are there,)but in the eicas, I only get malfunction messages and the mfd is completely black. I did notice that one other reader had this situation, but was un-able to determine how he solved the problem. Any help would be great! I am not familiar with airbus systems and am anxious to fly with this panel. Cheers!

I had moved my SDK folder and now the BGLCOMP Installer insists that I uninstall the old version before it will install the new one. My ADD/REMOVE (XP) does not show the BGLCOMP SDK therefore I am stuck. Does anyone know the registry setting, or general area of the setting, that tells the installer that the old version of the SDK is installed?Thanks,Dick Boley @KLBE

Back in 6th grade, I played a MS Flight Simulator numerous times during lunch break.I can't exactly remember which version it was, but I think it was either FS4 or FS5. It certainly wasn't FS95.You would always start out in Meigs Field and it had an aircraft similar to the X-15, but it was fictional. I remember it was extremely fast, and could climb into the air extremely quickly. I'm not sure if it was rocket-powered (like the X-15) or if it was jet-powered. Then again, back on those days, it didn't really matter. :)Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Folks,I'm gonna order a PC through Dell soon. I've been customising on the site and I'm after some opinions.Assuming everything else is equal, I can afford 1024MB DDR Ram, or an ATI Radeon Pro with 256MB, but NOT both.The PC will be used for general household use, with a definite leaning towards MS Flight Simulator.Options are:512MB DDR Ram and 256MB graphics; or1024MB DDR Ram and 128MB graphics.Which would you pick, and why? I want to "future-proof" to a large extent, and don't think 512MB will cut the mustard in a year or two...But then a 128MB graphics card won't either!Hmmm.....help!CheersTimPS: I know $$$ can be saved elsewhere, but can we just stick to the above :)

Using shift+, plane starts moving back. I then press 1 or 2 to turn it right or left but nothing happens.Any help would be appreciated

Just installed SP1 and now I have no USB mouse and USB Joystick. I installed a patch from MS for USB devices and SP1 but no help. If I go into the Devices menu I don't even have "mouse" listed as an option and XP does not recognize the hardware. Any ideas?Mark.

I just got FS2004 and used to use FS2002 on XP. Hi all,I've seen less success with FS2Night than I had anticipated. The vision was to really do something with the night environment that was innovative and exciting.
