Hi, I was wondering what the pros and cons of terrain mesh are. I have never downloaded any mesh before. Does it look bad where the mesh begins and ends or does it make a smooth transition.

I know there's a fix for the radio in the Embraer 170 panel.But I can't find it. I think he even sent it to me. Don't know what happened to the panel. Been flying for months with no problem then the radio stoped working. Thanks very much, Bob McDuff

Hi All, Can anyone please tell me where i can get the base models for FS Painter airbuses? I have tried a search on the avsim library but keep getting loads of repaints and no base models! Is there any sites that have the models on or can anyone suggest the wording to put in the library search engine to obtain the base models onlyplease helpCheersDaren

Recently Ive started having a very strange autogen problemWhen Im flying, all around me for a split second IM seeing blank white buildings appearing and then they disappear. Its like its drawing autogen which then isnt getting placed on the scenery. Is it landclass or has something got corrupted somewhere. Anyone else had a problem like this?Craig

The bottom line is, FS9 performs pretty well for me, as long as I keep settings rather conservative with sliders at around midrange. I'm getting about 15-20 fps on average, and am primarily using addon aircraft - Dreamfleet, FSD, PMDG, etc. My biggest gripe has been frequent stutters/pauses while in 2D mode, which is at worse in turns. (For some reason,it isn't too bad in virtual mode.) I have tried many suggestions I got from the forum, such as changing target framerate, trying different display settings, changing resolution, turning off AA, etc. Nothing helps. I personally did not realize this...for the benefit of those ignorant like me, Lago is no longer the publisher for the Geo series and what would have been Geo 7, called Orcas Island is available. And, as a Georender junky, I have to say it is classic Goldstein and very much worth it. I got it at simmarket, dont know where else it is available.Mike

The freeware ISD Milan Linate(LIML) airport and surrounding VFR scenery from ISDproject is brilliant.The hours that have gone into this freeware project must have been considerable and the end result is one that is far better than a number of payware products.ISD should be told thay are appreciated and I for one say thank you.

Hey I just upgraded my video card from a Nvidia Geforce 2 64mb to a PowerColor ATI Radeon 9600 128mb.All my other programs are working fine except for Flight Simulator. My gamma setting on the computer is set to max, however, when I play FS2004 it gets all dark. The game begins to load up fine and then just at the last second the light drops significatly. So much that at night you can't see trees or even the road if you don't have the landing lights on. I mean it's just total blackness, where as before at least I could see trees and buildings in the dark...now it's just black. I can't even see clouds in the sky anymore at night, and even during the day the radio controls …

This must be the best and most complete freeware aircraft ever! But how do you fly and navigate this craft?No disrespect to the Russians but it seems to me they have created an art form in making the simple, difficult!Basically I cannot get this aircraft to coordinate a turn with the autopilot nor have a clue how to navigate with the instruments. I've been over the documentation but still find a lot that is unclear. There is supposed to be a file around concerning the autonomic navigation system (IL-18_5.doc) but I can't locate it anywhere.Still this plane does fascinate me and therefore I would appreciate some help.Thanks,Alan

Historic Jet Group released their very nice latest 707's for FS9. Now Im trying to find a panel that will work well with them. I usually had used the Paul Golding masterpiece, but this one doesnt seem to work that well with this plane. A/T doesnt work, altitude selection doesnt work (gauges present...though...mebbe cause this is a 707-320 panel.)In any case, just need to get pointed to a sweet panel for these great birds.Anybody got ideas?ThanksEric

If you've been using the old Det 40 series drivers just 'cause you want to fly in 3D, good news! Nvidia has released their Det 50 series stereo control panel! I Loaded this up with the new Det 56.56 drivers and took a few test flights. They work great! Get the control panel and drivers at www.guru3d.com.

Must be true considering the 1500 plus downloads... Just wondering, if this would've been a commercial package i would've probabely not searched in vain for some comments about it. True, because of the lack of working gauges in the,otherwise, very nice internal model, it is not up to nowadays commercial standard, but as a freeware package it is of considerably high quality,atleast imho. Hi, I thought that some time back, I saw a headline about an add-on that allows the pilot to request enroute changes to an IFR flight plan. I assumed the add-on would also change the flight plan within FS9, such as in the flight director. I have scoured AVSIM (making extensive use of the search functions) and other FS sites, and cannot come up with it. Does anyone else remember this? or know of something that performs this function?Thanks,Frank P

Hi folks,I think Fanda's Dash 8 sounds are probably the best I've ever heard as turboprop for FS. I am wondering if there is anyway that they can be merged into another aircraft?It seems that the sound folder has a different structure than any other I've seen.Thanks in advanceNick

hey, i'm trying to get my water looking a bit better as i've been using the bill & Lynn Lyons calm textures for ages now.Had a go with ocean fx2 and Daniel Buechter's oceanheightfield bmp's for the reflections and got a pretty nice effect but it looks a bit dark and more like fs2002 water for me.I dont know whether to stick with it or go back to the Lyons textures.Could anybody post some screens of thier water if they think they've got it good so i can have a look please?Thanks, http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64022.jpg

Just thought I'd ask if any of you knew a good alternative source to FSHost and MS Gaming Zone for hosting a non-controlled multiplay server where other folks who are local to me would be able to see my server running from some sort of browser and join up?I like FSHost, however it's just not busy enough (not enough users) to get folks joining so easily/quickly...i can run a long island server for hours with noone joining up so i was interested in something very similar but with a much larger user base...dunno if it exists but just thought id ask.Dave
