If you're looking for great FS2004 performance without $pending big buck$, check out "Video Card Comparison" by Steve Christensen (uploaded today in 'FS2004 Miscellaneous'). He found, rather by accident, that he didn't need a high-end system to get terrific frame rates in FS2002 or FS2004 with most settings maxed out. Best of all, he tells all! Hauptmann

I'm having difficulty finding small airports around the UK and Ireland for FS2004. I've noticed a product called Great Britain and Ireland scenery, but it says it's designed for FS2000.I was wondering if the scenery would work in FS2004 anyway. I do have some scenery from the older sims installed and it seems to work fine.If any one would have an idea or has any first hand knowledge I would be grateful.Thanks-Phil

Anyone know where of Edwards AFB scenery for FS9? I have seen shots of it posted and I know it exists, however I don't know if it is payware or freeware. Thanks everyone!Mike

Chris Willis posted this question back in September, so I thought I'd ask again, now that so much more is known...;)There are several parameters in FS9.cfg that cannot be altered via the UI, including these, in the (Display) section:Auto_LOD=0LOD_Target_FPS=14Image_Quality=0Texture_Quality=3While descriptively named, I've had a difficult time figuring out exaclty what these do, if anything. Particularly Auto_LOD. Setting it to 1 doesn't seem to do anything for me...does anyone know if it works in FS9?And exactly what do the others do, such as both quality setting?Thanks!sg

I am having terrible trouble solving or finding a workaround to an issue concerning an AMD 1.8 machine, 256 ram, 64 mb video. FS2004 runs OK, until 3rd party models are added. The machine then turns into a slideshow, maintaining a good framerate but stuttering badly. These are not particularly heavy weight models and the problem does not arise when run on an Intel based machine with virtually the same specification. If anyone has experienced similar problems and have found a fix or workaround, I would appreciate any advice on how to solve these issues.[/font size]

I am using FS2004 on Windows XP, 3.2 MHz CPU, 1 Gb Ram, ATI Mobility 9600 (128 Mb). I have set up an IFR flight from KCMH to KCLE. With the IFR Flight Plan loaded, I am consistently unable to switch from the Ground to the Tower controller to request my IFR takeoff clearance. The problem can happen with any airplane. I have no problems obtaning ATIS, and contacting Clearance Delivery and Ground. One of the primary navaids required for the RTT 1H initial departure procedure from LOWI (Innsbruck) is, according to the charts I have, the LOC/DME OEJ (109.7). This navaid does not however appear in the fs9 database, OEJ is represented only as an intersection. Is it possible to add this navaid using Afcad2?, if so how should an LOC/DME be represented, as a VOR/DME or as separate NDB and DMEs at the same location. There appears to be no provision for the insertion of a LOC/DME from within Afcad2, or is a locator the same as an NDB (please forgive my ignorance if it is!)Pete

Sometimes the ATC gives me this message 'Clearence void 30 minutes from now'. What does it mean? Once I get the message that I have exceeded this time when I got close to my destination and my IFR plan was canceled. What am I supposed to do in such case?

I have tried three times to download this... after about an hour or so.. a window pops up saying.. The connection to the server is lost.Yes.. I am using a the stupid AOL Dialup.. and it slows down the speed to any downloads I make.. Always when I make a flightplan I get the result that the procedures depicted in the SIMcharts are totally ignored.For example with FSNavigator I made a flightplan to Seattle Tacoma.For this airport I have a SIMChart by Jeppeson with information about procedures for incoming traffic. In the flightlessons we follow theese procedures.But the calculted route from FSNavigator totally ignored theese procedures. Hi Guys,I just dont know what to do, or what could be, but this thing happends with every non FS default aircraft, no matter if Im on ground or air, on the 2D panel I get 15FPS with the CS727/PSS320/Carenado's aircrafts/Eurowings Bae146-ATR and many others, but when I switch to VC (on those VC available) I get 30FPS stable, please anybody got any ideas about this?Thanks so much.

I seem to have duplicate AI Aircraft in FS9. There are two of everything, one overlapping another. Could I have duplicate files being read causing this? And if so, how do I correct this problem? Any help is appreciated.Scott

Hello, After being able to install Eric Marciano's A-320 panel(with the help of some kind folks here), I have to say, what a superb piece of programming- freeware, payware or whatever! It's these panels that make the sim that much more interesting! Just for curiosity, I fired up FS98 (anyone else still have it on their hard drive?)and selected a flight I'd saved at LIMC using a AZ-320which used another splenid 320 panel by Andy Jaros. Obviously, it doesn't have the items thet FS2002 allows but I was quickly reminded why I still have Fs98; that too was a panel that streched the limits of the day- I quite enjoyed my flight!Thanks for all you've given us gentlemen! …
