What do real piolots do when there are no published approach plates for a given runway at a major airport - example: I looked everywhere (including my new sim-plates cds) for approach plates for the following runways at KBOS (Boston):4L0915L22R33RWhat does a 737 jet pilot do in such cases? Since there don't seem to be published plates for these runways, how do you land a large jet? Same is true for RWY 29 at KEWR (Newark, N.J.).Do you just do it all the old fashioned visual way - i.e. - downwind-base-turning final, etc.?I would love to know how jet pilots do this. Or - am I mising something & there really ARE plates for these runways?Thanks!Chris Catalano

Gentlemen,I'm experiencing Heading problems! My Flight Simulator 2002 Pro starts up with correct indication of my aircraft Heading but sometime during my flight using any aircraft or panel without warning my headings change and indicate the wrong heading. For example: My aircraft may be flying a heading of 180 but it shouws in my instrument a heading indication of 340.I cant figure out why this is happening and it's getting a bit embarassing with the VATSIM controllers. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.I appreciate your assistance in this matter.

It may just be me but the IFDG 320 doesnt have winglets. is there a fix for this?

Please try these DX-settings if you are suffering from micro-stuttin'gitis: Set Vsync to 'auto' or 'on by default.' Then, most important, set the amount of 'pre-rendered frames to '0' or '1.' You might need to get Rivatuner at guru3d.com to do so. Right now, I use the two first mentioned settings with great success. Also, in the BIOS, set your AGP aperture to half the memory of your graphic card. Fast writes are 'enabled' over here. Generally spoken, which driver or card you use, shouldn't make much of a difference. My FlyTendo is a win2ksp4 2.5GHzXP/512MB on a nForce2 with a GF4600 running a 21" @1152x @85Hz. i just installed the antilles 2004 package..since then the sea level has risen by 200ft.now when i take off from honolulu im under water...within a couple of hundred feet i break through the waters surface and can see the city of honolulu ....under the sea..lol, ive got to laugh even tho it might mean a complete reinstall. any help appreciated steve ps i have uninstalled the antilles 2004 package ..but problem still remains.also uninstalled FSgenisis mesh for caribbean and mexico

Hi,Have been looking already a few hours on overcast problems on the forum and saw about activesky and John Cillis, downloaded and tested, and using the one from Cillis that seems to work when you setup the weather completly.But once i am in real time weather then it looks like a mess, watch my included pic to see what i talk about, since i install those overcast files i have this, when i take them away again (i checked) everything is normal again, and by the way you see through it! you only don't when there is already 1 overcast at that place but then i get transparent on the sides and a big layer that is that famous 1 square following me the whole flight.Is this for eve…

I have a problem when creating flights to start at certain airports in the caribbean.FS9 starts to load but hangs when it tries to load terrain (loading bar at around 12%). I have installed a couple of caribbean mesh, landclass and scenery files as well as enhanced water textures and thought that the problem must lie in some corrupted files.So what I did was deleting all caribbean addon sceneries and let Fs9 recompile the scenery.cfg. Unfortunately this approach did not remedy my problem. Fs9 hangs in the caribbean no matter whether I use addon scenery for that area or not.I prefer not to make a complete reinstall of FS9. I'm fairly certain I've seen a post and answer about this months ago but can't find it so my apologies for having to repeat the question.I have downloaded freeware aircraft which, when braking digs the nosewheel into the runway to a depth of about 3/4 of the nosewheel diameter.The mainwheels are not affected, and under normal circumstances the nosewheel sits nicely on the surface.If my memory is correct this is something to do with contact points in the aircraft.cfg file.Anyway , the question is - how to cure this?Dave

Hi, my father has told me he has a new problem with MSFS2002, and I can't duplicate it. When he starts a new flight, the aircraft appears with the engines NOT running, and Ctrl-E (Which he's checked in the setings is still assigned to autostart engines) doesn't do anything. If he can go through the steps to manually start - for example just turning on the mains and twisting the magneto in a Cessna - it starts up.How do make the default go back to starting with engines running?Richard

Hello to all;Problem as follows; I have 13 GoFlight modules. I have 6 U.S.B. HUBS, each HUB accepts 4 inputs. I have the 13 modules tied to 4 HUBS. Because each HUB accepts 4 inputs I have 3 HOBS full and 1 with only 1 input ((4+4+4+1) = 13). I have 2(the ones with the GoFlight USB cables) of this HUBS tied to another HUB and the other 2 HUBS tied to another HUB. I have two cables from my U.S.B. port in the mother board, I connect this 2 hubs to this 2 cables. Now I have the 13 modules tied to my computer using only 2 hubs. When I run Flight Sim my rate is 24fps, all ok up to here. Then I connect my CH pedals and yoke to the HUB that only have 1 input cable and my rate dr…

Hi, Seems like quite a few people here at Avsim have this aircraft so I thought I'd post question here also. I purchased but I can only get a cockpit in virtual with no gauges or anything. I have no panel. After reading several posts at their forums, it seems many are having same problem because they are running Fs2002 and Windows me like myself. It is a lot of money to spend and then run into problems. This is my first purchase from them. I thought they beta-test everything? Can someone here give some solution? Thank you, S.

Found but little reference, so hitting it with a fresh post.I read in the Microsoft documentation that the service ceiling for the Baron 58 is right at 20,000 ft. No matter what I do, I can't get the Baron much above 12,000. I did finally get to 15,000, but the Baron had slowed to near stall speed, and was in an emphasised nose-up attitude.Yes, I have flaps and gear retracted. Yes, I am leaning it out to max the RPM. Hi gang..Thought I would relay my prob... have tried everything I can think of, but no dice so far.When opening fs2k4 - prog locks at splash screen.Problem started after installing Eric Marciano's A320 panel, along with the updates. First mistake was not reading the notes, and installing the gps_export.dll.Dug the 2k4 version out of the cab on original disc and replaced the faulty one. Should be back to normal... but still hangs.Installed the RealCRT gauges and data base along with the panel, and subsequently deinstalled everything when the prob started.I removed the fsSound.dll and deleted the FS9.cfg, and the sim WILL boot under a basic config file. okay i know how to do everything else. im good with nearly everything until now. lol i feel stupid asking this but how do i know my altitude by looking at the altimeter. this is my first ever simulator.im really eager to learn and ive loved everything about it. like i said i can do everything else. i just find it inconvinient to change camera views just to check the altitude.id really appreciate any helpthanks a lot guys.

In FS2002,the user was able to delete and reinstall the basic software without losing any additional downloaded aircraft or scenery(downloaded off the internet from such sites as AVSIM)Does this also apply to FS2004?. The reason I am interested in the answer is that the current version of FS2004 is beginning to become rather erratic on my P.C.(i.e CTD on occasions and rather intermittent starts,with the screen flickering). Since I have approx 40 additional aircraft downloaded I am rather reluctant to remove and reinstall the lot!!. Hey there,With FS2002 I was able to see reflections off the water surface during dawn/dusk. Now with FS2004 these reflections seemed to have disappeared. I can see the animated water. I can see reflections off the aircraft when I have the option turned on. Is there a particular setting that needs to be set in the menus or in the fs9.cfg file? Help. I've lost my voices for ATC. I don't know why. I have engines and instruments, and the text of ATC but no voice. I've tried a reformat and reinstall to no avail, even replaced my soundcard still no voice.
