FS9 works as good as can be expected however I find I must execute FS9 twice to make it operate properly! Let me explain, When I "open" FS9 the first time and get to the general "select - create etc" flight menu, I must then "exit" Fs9 right then and execute FS9 a 2nd time to make it run properly!Let me clear that mouthfull up!On the first try opening Fs9, if I "select" a flight - I will get a constantly blinking hourglass as my plane sits on the runway and the sim does not work right at this point. Also, I run 2 monitors off an ATI 9600 XT, and if I go to Setting/Display/Hardware, the list of resolutions for the primary monitor are gone! Disappeared! The "resolution…

Hello All,I am looking for opinions on Fscene2004. I was a very satisfied owner of the textures for FS2002, as I found the default ones lacking. However MS has improved the textures to a reasonable standard in FS9, so I am wondering if it is worth to spend the rather considerable sum to upgrade.I have looked at the screenshots and cannot see enough justification to buy. Any opinions????Paul ( SPIM )

I just purchased and downloaded the RealScene landclass data for $20. That's $20 I could have done something useful with instead....I first tried it out around Seattle. Downtown Seattle has too much crop/grass/forest/whatever...way too undeveloped...welcome to Seattle 1903 :-lol Tacoma looks the same. Crops and fiels and grass in the middle of the city.I then moved to Ranger Creek airport...there's some commercial highrise kind of buildings near the runway...#####?! In fact, there are many instances where there are big buildings in the middle of the forest, where one would expect a small village at most.Moved to Livermoore (SFO area) and it's awful. I could barely recogni…

Hi all!Sebastian and I have continued the FDE development from v2.0 to v3.0 with great success. We have captured many many small aspects of 757 flight into the FDE now, and everything seems to be pretty spot on now, as far as we & our manuals/perf data are concerned .However, at this point we want to make sure that every "bug" or weirdness in the FDE gets eliminated before distributing the NEXT version 3.0 FDE. We will distribute this version via a separate Web-page hosted by Simradar. Therefore, we are searching for BETA team members to assist us in the development of the FDE of the most beautiful airliner in the world. NOTE that the FDE is for FS2002 only. Once PICv2…

Hi all,I recently formated my c: drive (don't ask, don't ask...) so I had to re-install windows again. Fortunately, I have my fs9 install on a seperate harddrive (f:) so I don't have to re-install fs again! FS9 works fine but obviously I've lost my registry entry in windows. How can I manually make that entry in the registry by regedit? What entry would I have to make?Your help is welcome!lennart

Hi,I have been trying to fly this plane and it has a serious control problem. Immediately after liftoff from the runway my force feedback joystick rocks back and forth violently and there seems to be absolutely no pitch/elevator control. My joystick always wants to either go fully forward or fully back. When I put the plane on autopilot and go to spot view the rear elevators are quickly fluttering up and down. Nothing I've ever seen on any plane I have flown before. There is another issue that I know how to fix. There is no RADIO section in the aircraft.cfg file and apparently it needs one for the radio stack to have standby frequencies and to specify that VOR1 has a glide…

I have been testing some of the FS2002 sceneries. After testing approx 45 sceneries, found that some worked well, some not at all and many were fineexcept for areas around the airport perimeter wherethere were trees and now they appear as rectangularwhite/light grey shape.Does anyone know if this can be fixed? it's a real pity because many of them work fine except for this annoying display. Thanks

In these times reading posts with complaints about 3rd party vendor non responsiveness it is comforting to report that FlightSoft's support is outstanding. Their Hong Kong scenery disk is fantastic. But a friend of mine had a problem with some land tiles that appeared where the water should be at the end of Kai Tak's famous runway 13. I emailed the contact at FlightSoft and I was pleasantly suprised to get a response right away from their president. He jumped on this problem with all four feet. Of course, it was not a problem of Flightsoft's making but appeared to be some inapproprate scenery.cfg entries. The detail in this Hong Kong scenery is amazing. There seems to be o…

Hi guysI am not familiar with this software but I see from the library that it has been around since FS98 which implies that it has some mileage behind it.Do any of you guys have any experience of this utility? Comments please.

I tried to get somebody to answer this over at the PMDG forum, but, so far, I have not had much luck. I'll try here. The PMDG Beech 1900 is an excellent product. It is definitely a notch or two above the default offerings. I can go on and on about how good this plane looks, flies, and even sounds. If you go to the Raytheon website and look at the exterior, cabin, and cockpit, you can see that the Precision Manuals Development Group definitely did their homework. My only problem is that the gauges in my 3D cockpit stutter and are not smooth. The instruments in the 2D mode run smoothly, but, for some reason, those on my 3D panel act as if the frame rates are about 3 per sec…

I know it is probably about two years late to ask this question but here goes :In 2002 how do I select 'Reverse Thrust' ??John Amm

In case you missed it in the PMDG forum, I've uploaded a Beechcraft yoke to complement the B1900 main cockpit. It comes with a toggle to hide or display the yoke. Look for B1900d_yoke.zip in the Avsim library.

I finally decided to delete FS 2002. After deleting I went to start FS9 but I now get a message saying terrain cfg. is missing I click on ok and I get the message scenery cfg. is missing when I then click on ok it goes back to my desktop. I sure hope I don't have to reinstall FS9. Can I find those files on the disks and just reinstall them and if so where do I find them. Thanks Chuck;(

Hi:I reinstalled FS9 and then copied in all my old files. I now get the above message at start-up. FS9 then loads the default flight and everything is fine. anybody know what is going on?Thanks

After flying for 45 mins or so, my framerates are down to 6.5fps. I can then shut down FS9 and restart with the exact same scenario, a/c location, weather, etc. and my frames are back up to 13fps. I know this has been brought up before but it appears as though MS has never acknowledged the issue. I'm using a P4 1.6g, 512ram, GForce FX5600 Ultra, SBLive!, 40gig Maxtor Ultra ATA, etc. I use PMDG's excellent 1900D, PSS Dash 8, and Opensky's CRJ 95% of the time (with the CRJ being the framerate winner, hands down!) I also use default scenery.CH

I am currently unable to load FS2004 - after the Splash Screen I get another screen opening but it disappears so quickly I am unable to read if there is anything written on it. I hav uninstalled FS9 refragged the HD and reinstalled FS9 more than once, but still get the same result. I can only assume another programme that I have installed is clashing with FS9 but how do I find out which one it is. Is there any way i can do this.?? I would be very grateful for your helpI am using Windows XP and wonder if the administrator/user arrangement could cause any probs.George Aldridge

Hi all,I have a new problem. I tend to download weather using FSMeteo using the download and stay offline option, then get offline and do my flying. However, lately when I do this, I get regular stutters at about 15 second intervals where my framerate drops down to something like 2-4fps. Because of the precise regularity of the stutters I minimized the sim and opened Task Manager to check what was going on. Turns out that one copy of svchost.exe (there tend to be two or three running in the background) at regular intervals takes up to 50% of the CPU usage. This is even though I am offline by that point. I tried terminating the process but I get an 'access denied' error me…
