Folks, I've finally got my new pc, see below. I am in love.This thing is a God, and I'm still shaking my head at how it looks with the sliders moved up passed Ultra Low.My old machine had an integrated 8mb video card, so a gig of ram and an Radeon9800Pro with 128Mb ram adds a new dimension somewhat.....Anyhoo, after years of reading AVSIM and looking at posts regarding FSUIPC and other stuff I can now branch out and discover the exciting world of FS add-on's. Been looking at FScene 2004. It's now available a little cheaper (61 Euros/region for all seasons) so now I can at least consider getting it. 61 Euros is still expensive though so I want to ask a few questions.1.The textures in FS2002 were quite dull and boring, so I can understand that FScene was a big improvement, though I never bought it because of the high price. The textures in FS2004 are improved significantly. Does FScene still improve the quality of the textures? Is this improvement worth

I recently downloaded several aircraft repaints. Namely the excellent iFDG Airbus A320's. For some of these repaints, I notice that some of the alpha textures "bleed" through. That is, I occasionally see purple or green colors that appear at seams or in areas that should be shadowy. My question to the experts is this: How can I fix these texture anomolies? Do I need to reconfigure my display/hardware settings?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Take care,--Dr. T

is there a way, through hard manual labour, third-party add-ons or magic, to get real life approaches into fs?i know it's only a game, but comparing current approach plates with, for example, some approaches on that garmin thingy... i'm sure they would send a pair of f-16's after me, if i actually flew like that.sometimes it's hard to survive in the game, too. i was 10 miles west of lowi and the atc told me to fly right to rwy 26. in one-mile visibility. check it out for yourself for a laugh...:)more seriously, i know it's a lot of information, i know it's being constantly updated. so i'm not criticizing, just trying to be constructive... is there a mechanism to get this …

I have 1 of the 3 levers on my CH Flight Yoke USB programed to control the spoilers.On some aircraft it works fine, I can raise the spoilers and lower the spoilers. However on others such as the FFX 737-800, I can only raise them and to bring them down I have no choice but to use the / key.With the lever, I can only raise the spoilers all the way to 100%. I cannot lift them just a little inflight to use them as speed brakes to slow down. This is only with some aircraft such as the FFX 737-800.On other aircraft such as the new IFDG A320, I can lower the spoilers with the lever without any problems and can progressively raise them and lower them all I want.Does anyone know …

I'm ugrading my computer and now will be able to take advantage of the upgrades to FS9. Here's my question: In FS2k2 I mainly flew the PIC767, and occasionally the DF737-400. Here we are, about 9 months later, and there has not been an update to either of these (my favorite add-ons). In light of this, do y'all have any recommendations of airline-type add-ons the caliber of the two I mentioned above? Also, any word on when upgrades to PIC767 or DF737 will be fortcoming? BTW, I've been to their respective forums, but those questions seem to be forbidden. Thanks in advance!

A question for the scenery designers out there. I have created a close to real-world ai airline with accuarate schedules. This one particular airline Indair has about 90% of its flights between 8 am and 1 am. With about 40 aircraft total and three major hubs, I am left with nearly 12 aircraft sitting overnight at the terminal, in addition to the other international flights that run 24/7. As you might guess, it plays havoc on the fps. I am thinking of putting up a generic building "hangar" which would house any aircraft above the actual gate limit. Ladies and Gentlemen,I finally took one 'brave' step and went to correct the ILS in the AFCAD2 for FS9. I had this particular problem:Project Freeware Scenery Vienna Schwechat - if I would install it into FS9, then use AFCAD2 provided for it (or use original FS9 afcad), my aircraft would still load on the side of the runway, and even worse, the ILS was leading my aircraft on landing to few meters left or right of the runway, not into the centerline. I guess the PFSLOWW and original FS9 scenery are not at all aligned, and noone bothered to make that correction. I like flying the ATR-72 that I repanted but one day when I decided to fly it somting weird happened and its still does it.I didn't change anything but now it handles like a fighter jet as if the Joy Stick suddenly became too sensitive but no matter what I can't get the sensitivity to the old setting and added to that my throtle won't get all the way to 0% like it always did its always at like 10%.What Happened? Some time ago I saw a neat little utility for FS 2004 in the avsim library which was an add-on screen for all panels that showed all AI traffic in a circle of 100nm around one's own aircraft. A similar thing existed for FS 2002, it was called AI Map. Unfortunatley, I cannot find that neat little utility for 2004 anymore, can anyone point me to it (name?) so I can download it from the avsim library?Thanks

Is it possible, you amazing freeware developers, to retrofit some aspects of FS2004 into 2002? eg. Weather, or autogen, or ground textures, or ATC? Seems, if you could get some of the good bennefits from 2004 into 2002, then you could run 2002 at the performance level we used to get and virtually "have your cake and eat it too."This is probably a stupid question, but there are some similarities between the two and it sounds plausible to me, the techinically inept.What do you guys think?

When I fly some last generation aircrafts that have hi-res textures for the virtual cockpit, I have a problem when I switch to VC view: FS2004 freezes during the (long) time it loads the textures for the VC. I have a GeForce 4 Ti4800 with 128 MB, but still, FS2004 reloads the textures each time I switch to the VC view. It is very painful.I updated my fs9.cfg according to the hint found on this forum:TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40 <------------ to a higher value ex: 400but it has no effect on my system.Any clue?Thanks in advance.Eric

I tried to install the FSD Porter update but it gives me an error about my license. Anyone seen this and fixed it?I tried to post on the FSD forums but it reqires my account to be activated (6 hours later and no activation)So I will post here instead. I really don't want to drag up old stuff but this protection system is ridiculous. I was only allowed 3 installs (got the porter the day it was released) before I had to reactivate, and now I can't even install a patch for it!I really want the Panther but I will not bother with it now.I never felt guilty about installing software before I bought the Porter from FSD.

Hello,Newbie to the Eaglesoft Citation X - Great addon!If I create a flight plan in FS2004 - how do I get the A/C to follow the plan automatically?I guess I do not know how to couple the GPS to the NAV system.
