As soon as I close eitherof those windows, everything back to normal. The thing is it usedto work fine.Any advice/solution very much appreciated

Hi all, I've noticed that sometimes when I make a really smooth greaser touchdown with some aircraft (especially the PMDG 1900), I can barely hear the mains making contact with the runway. Is this possible in real life, i.e. making such a smooth touchdown that the pilot does not know when the mains are down initially? Thanks for any responsesBTW is there any way to increase the sound level of the touchdown wavs in the sound config files?J.C. Here is a shot of the ocean at 32,000 feet. I was using FS2004 downloaded weather. What is the "square" area below me? Is this the cloud deck? Is this normal? Why doesn't the cloud deck extend to the horizon?Thanks!Airbushttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68272.jpg

I'm using fltrec to record flight info in FS2002. When I try to open the data file (fltrec.dat) in Excel, I get an error message that says "File cannot be opened because: The following tags were not closed" (then it starts listing some tags). What does this mean and how do i fix it?Thank you.

This is really frustrating.I load up fs9, choose plane and flight, , then minimize it (before hitting 'FLY NOW') to start a utility- usually weather related, or a fligt planner. But when I hit the minimize bar, fs crashes. If I hit FLY NOW, and then minimize, it shrinks without crashing, but then when I try to restore it, it freezes as a black rectangle.Any ideas?EytanP3 2.4 GhzGeForce 2 MX200 64MB512 DDRWindows Professional 2000Latest FSUIPC unregistered

Why isn't possible to start an instant replay after a long haul. Normally, I am able to check my landing from outside view. This doesn't to work after a several hours flight. Thank you very much for any tips!Sam

I see a lot of add-ons being some "mesh" or "landclass" for certain areas. I have a couple of questions: 1)What exactly are they? 2)What is the difference between mesh and landclass? 3) Is it worth getting them? Are the payware ones (eg Taburet) better than freeware ones?4) Are they compatible with add-on airports (eg Simflyers, LAGO, etc)?5) Don't they slow performance? Thanks for any hints and explanations!

I just download the Kansai scenery for FS 2004.Then i had airplanes in the buildings :-lol .So then I downloaded a AFCAD file but now I get no Traffic in one half of the Entire terminal. Is this because there isn't enough traffic to fill this up or is it a problem. I think its a problem because before i had traffic there but in the buildings. Any suggestions? Konrad

I created a rather long object for FS2002. It was a course of gates in the sky. In GMAX I laid out the gates as I wanted them and them I attached them so they formed one object. When I fly about half way through, the whole thing just disappears! Is there a size limit for objects? Its odd...I can see the whole course in the distance, but when I pass a certain point it disappears into thin air. When I go into slew mode and back up, it all reappears. But when I go forward again, it vanishes. Any advice is greatly appreciated.Christine

Can someone help me? I've installed Fltrec82. Just before starting a flight in FS2002 I go to the top menu bar and make sure that it is recording and that the 'start' button is pressed (not the 'stop button'. I made a name for the .dat file, but when I end the flight, the .dat file is empty. I downloaded the XML parser from microsoft but maybe I haven't "hooked it up" properly??? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi I have a few minor questions. First off, in real life, do commercial jet airplanes (Boeing, etc.) have their instruments indicate units in British Imperial? (altimeter in feet, airspeed in knots, temperature in fahrenheit, fuel in pounds, pressure in inches of mercury) OR are the instruments a mixture of British Imperial/Metric? If so which instruments indicate which standard?Furthermore, if altitute is indicated in feet, is this an international standard? Do they use feet in altimeter in Europe? If not, how do they work around flight levels being that one is in meteres and the other is in feet?My second question can, I guess only be answered by retired airline pil…

Hi,I'm author of Boeing 737 Fuel Planner - http://www.volny.cz/fs2002/B737FPL/B737FPL.htm . This planner version 1.1. is usable for types -300, -400, -500, -700, -800 and -900. Many people wish to update planner for types -200 and -600... I would like to do it, but I have not fuel flow data for -200 and -600 and I can't find them anywhere. Does anybody has requested data or ability to obtain them ? My e-mail is [email protected] a lot and happy landing....m

Finally decided to dive back into flight simming after about a year away. Currently running FS2004 on the following system:Dell 8250 PIV 3.06 with hyperthreadingATI Radeon 9700 Pro with Catalyst 4.3sAudigy 2 Sound with latest driversWindows XP ProDirectX 9.0bMS Force Feedback 2I've spent a good part of this weekend searching Avsim for FS2004 tweaks and have managed to improve system performance (FPS) quite repectibly but am still plagued with the dreaded sound stutter whenever ATC starts to say anything. Very distracting :(One of the tweaks I read is to turn down sound card acceleration from full to basic... but this did not correct the problem. Besides when you're run…
