Hi Chris! My name is Chris also, and I have a discovery flight ticket as a gift for Westwind. I would need the 172, I'm about 190 lbs. Is there anything special I should bring? Any specific time or day that is better for traffic and overall enjoyment. I'm looking forward to it, but wanted to wait until the storms and cold were gone :)Thanks,Chris

Anybody ever have this problem? While in flight trying to use my kneeboard it doesn't scroll properly. The little bar on the right goes up and down and I can see movement at the very top and bottom of the screen but the text does not move. I have to click on another function (ie.checklist or atm history) and then go back to the function I was using to see the scrolled text. This doesn't happen when in Flight Planner or Create Flight. Those scrolls work fine. Just the kneeboard.Any clues? Thanks,John

For those who haven't seen the post at fsnordic.net and have been waiting for the King Air, the project is still delayed, but not forgotten. Veneaviones has been monitoring their forums at fsnordic and has responded to questions. Last week's update shows the project as still being "a go"--they are working on some minor issues.... Veneaviones is a great team and I hope they meet with a lot of praise when their King Air is released...-John

How much if any, is the performance hit different from the default New York? I really want to get it, BUT I don't want it to be another KDFW Simflyers that will never get used because it is unflyable. I flew last night around the default NY to see how much head room I had and with everything maxed and full PAI it was great with a weather scheme, real weather has a little harder, but still doable. Turning down a slider is not an option, so I really need to know before hand. Any input is appreciated!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helico…

Ok. I know how undock views to another monitors, but my real problem is how can I undock and split the view across two monitors !!!!!! like in FS2002 and back to full screen mode. This cause to be not atractive the FS2004 to me at least in my multimonitor system and many people like me having a virtual cokpit. Thank you in advance if anybody has an idea about this. I'm just now flying online and being alone over Russia, so I can't judge if this procedure is right or not. I've never saw this in my online flights over Europe with the usual CTR ATCs.The guy is requesting report from me for each waypoint. I should probably give him complete position report, like when flying NATs. But I dunno, waypoints are in kinda 30-40 miles distance, so this doesn't make much sense really. So I'm giving him only distance to the waypoint. But usually, in Europe, CTR tells me "identified", gives me SQWK code maybe, and reports traffic to me. But I never had to report each and every waypoint. I think in real world pilots also don't report all waypoints?C…

After watching the Hunt for Red October a few days ago I thought about the part of the movie where the October runs thru an underwater canyon and wanted to try something like that in FS buy means of a sectional, a time piece, waypoints and making the weather complete IFR. Before I get started just wanted to see if anyone else has done this before and has a plotted course with times & headings and/or any input on what would be the best default a/c to do this in.

Just looking at a site reputing to sell cheap software. Go to:http://www.computermarket.com/mall/390F077...n_40.html#a1165and scroll down about between 1/3 and half-way down the page, you'll find "F/S Expansions 2004 [-R DVD] - pc/dvdrom" with details of contents. It isn't possible to establish what's on there, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess the possible sources!

Hello,I am running a testbed for my flight sim which includes a Project Magenta and Goflight combination. The system is working great (except for the inherent problems with the GF-TQ6 Throttle). Since I use a general sim that flys GA and Jet Aircraft, I do not use a cockpit. This requires me to reconfigure the Throttle setup when I switch from GA to big jets.Does anyone know where the Goflight config data is stored after it is setup. I'm looking for a way to save each setup and just replace it when I change "cockpit" configurations. I do the same thing already for the GoFlight MCP (by removing it from the Modules Folder of the FS). The Project Magenta MCP's do not work wh…

I use FSUIPC (version 2.94) to combat the effects of joystick noise (on the throttle channel in particular) in FS2002. It works well, but I have not been able to discover how these changes can be made permament, so I have to redo it every time I restart the sim. Does anyone here know how to save the FSUIPC settings? I apologize if this has been discussed before, but my search technique failed to find anything. I'm probably missing something very obvious or just don't know enough about how FSUIPC works to avoid asking a stupid question!! Anyway, replies will be very much appreciated. ...Dave

Howdie,Can anyone help me to try and resolve a small problem... Remember back when you used Fsnavigator with FS2002, there was the ability to set the tower view and within that to specify height etc.Does anyone know if there is a similar program that will achieve the same result for Fs2004? I have tried using active camera and fs camera, but the results were not what i am looking for.If anyone can offer advice or suggestions then it would be very much appreciated.RgdsAidihttp://www.vfr-flightcenter.com/avsim_sig.jpg

I looked through the threads and can't seem to find posts similar to the problem I began having. For some reason, when I try to connect SB to my existing FS2004 multiplayer session (using SBrelay), SB crashes about 50 to 75% of the time. It used to work fine, so I'm not sure what happened. Any suggestions?P4 2.4Ghz512M RamWindows XP

I can only very occasionally get multiplayer and SBRelay to connect together. I have re-installed Directx (latest version), SB, joined as a "naked" host and attempted to re-connect, typed in 127.0.0.1, changed port settings, removed firewalls (including XP), antuivirus software, run in Full Screen and still when I press "search" in the multiplayer connect box nothing happens. I have looked for answers in many newsgroups, read tutorials in VATSIM, re-read readme files with SBRelay etc. etc. but been unable to find an answer. I have a new AMD 3000+ with a NVIDA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra Graphics card and 1000 meg Ram with XP Professional

I have searched the forums for entries on invisible building crashes (IBC) but have found little, yet I know people elsewhere are experiencing these. I am experiencing the ICB at 4 addon airports Malta (Daniel Chircop); Incheon (Yunjin Lee); Johannesburg (Johan van Wyk); and lately at Castlegar (Vern Opperman). An example of an IBC when an aircraft moving or stationary, is on the apron near the terminal, a building crash occurs, particularly if in spot view when panning, and there has been no visible contact with the building.I had extensive messaging with Daniel Chircop but he could not duplicate any IBC

In FS2002 on the instrument panel you can set the simulation rate to .5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. Is there a way to set it to 3x?Thanks

does microsoft ever plan on actually fixing the issue of standing aircraft on the ground with their parking brake set and idling engines to actually remain still? going through a pre-flight checklist in the multi-ton 737 at the ramp with its engines idling and the mere 10 knot wind seems to be slowly pushing me to the side (or wherever the wind is blowing).comeon guys, we appreciate the new features added since 1995, but working out some, rather persistent bugs wouldn't hurt./rant over.

Having recently visited Princess Juliana airport, I am curious about the departure for large aircraft. Having watched several 757's depart, I noticed the climb, which included a sharp right turn after takeoff from RWY09, was very steep. I understand this is due to the high land elevation infront of the climb path, but what angle of intial climb do these aircraft use and how much power? I mean is it always Full Power and no de-rate takeoff's, especially for the Air France A340 which operates direct to LFPG.If anyone can offer any information and departure procedure charts (SIDS), I would be most gratefull.BrgdsMataus (UK)
