I started with whatever versions came out on the old DOS 5" floppies and am afraid the disease has increased to this old CFI of many years past with each version.I already see the lines forming, and forum postings regarding anxious antcipation for the next version (or versions) of FSXXXX. Seems like I just got FS9 and I got it a few days before the official release date. How time flies as you get older and you are having fun huh?In ADDITION to computers, seems to me that payware has snowballed for 2004 as well (In a good way). Between mesh, landclass, Manhattan, SimFlyers, Communication items, so many beautiful new aircraft etc. etc. etc. I seem to have spent more already…

Seemingly all of a sudden, all my scenery textures in FS9 load up blurred. Upon pressing alt the textures sharpen to their normal resolution, but return to blurred when exiting the menu. I'm at a loss. A couple of times I managed to maintain sharp textures for a short flight, but it's pretty much blurry all the time. Upon reloading the scenery I get a second of sharp textures, then blurry again. What to do? AndreDell Dimension 82002.53 ghz P4512mb RdramFX 5900 128mbSound Blaster LiveFullscreen 1024x768x32

I'm considering possibly/maybe buying one the Megascenery volumes (with the current exchange rate the price doesn't seem to bad). Do people have any particular source they use in the UK or does everybody get it direct from the US? And does in cover Yosemite?Victor

I have an issue. I still use MSFS2002 and have had no issues until last night. I started up FS and for some reason it reverted back to the original C172 at Miegs. I thought that was strange. Loaded up the C182 and upped in RJAA. Was sitting there waiting for the engines to complete spool up when I noticied my panel was melting. Only in one spot. So I thought, huh? I switched views to spot and went back to cockpit. It cleared up. I taxied in spot to the active. Jumped back in cockpit and within 3 seconds, the panel started hazing out again. I switched planes to my B733 and as you can see by the attached it did it here also. Any idea what it is? It does not do…

Hi all,I'd like to know if there's any possible way to tweak the cfg file to make t-storms more powerful. I love the new weather engine (and looks!) of FS9 wx, but I rarely hit any bumps or turbulence.I was a HUGE fan of Flight Unlimited 3's weather, and even though it didn't look very realistic, it made the plane respond to different conditions. I used to love the fact that I would AVOID t-storms, for fear that it would cause damage to the plane. The plane became difficult to control in storms, and the plane shook and rattled, even in simple windy conditions.I fly into the big, beuatiful t-storms in FS9, and the plane rarley even jostles. I want to get back to the da…

I've been meaning to make this post for a couple of days now. I always like to acknowledge teams for great work... The POSKY 747-200 is one of the best projects I've seen! The 747-200 is an aircraft I am very fond of. I've easily flown over 100,000 miles in them, mostly transoceanic, although my last flight on one in '94 was from Dulles-SFO. To this day I am amazed how something so large could fly, and with such a strong safety record considering the billions of miles the entire fleet has flown. I also well remember my first flight on one, in 1980 while I was in College.... I felt like I was King of the skies...Anyway, thanks to ProjectOpenSky for another outstandin…

I can't find in the forum or the SGA site a solution to the pitch problem (excesive pitch while cruising). Is it there a patch?Or does anyone know which is the line/s in the aircraft.cfg file related to pitch that has to be changed and what should I write there?Hey, SGA guys, I saw a lot of cheap critisism about this plane. I love it and that's why I want to fix it.Thanks,Leo

Got a new problem I can't figure out. I have FS9 and it runs pretty well on my system. Just for fun, I decided to load FS2002 and see how it runs on my PC since I have made several upgrades. The installation went well, no problems; but when I tried to run the sim, it got to the splash screen then kicked off, never loaded up. I uninstalled it properly (using FS uninstall) and installed again. Same thing. Tried several more times and nothing. It gets to the splash screen, then shuts down.Any suggestions?ThanksDave

Does anybody know why this bridge in NY appears to have fallen in the water? LOL...This obviously has to be an addon but I don't know which one. I have the new Manhattan Scenery installed but I don't know if that has caused the problem. I am going to disable that scenery and check but I wanted to post the screenshot to see if anybody else has ever seen thishttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68576.jpg

I recently downloaded the SFP 3.3 Beta flight planner - which works beautifully.Running it on a secondary monitor with FS on the main everything is great. However I notice that when using the moving map function while connected to FS9 there is a frame rate hit each time the map updates. So I 'm trying now to run SFP on a networked PC and link to FS9 over the network to ease the load on the FS9 PC. Problem is - how can I get SFP to find FS9 thru the network- so far selecting IPC link only produces a "waiting for FS" message and there doesn't appear to be any way of directing SFP to FS .Has anyone any experience of this very useful program and any clue as to how t…

Basically the subject says it all. It is the panel since I tried it in a couple of aircrafts with the same result. Anyone knows what can I do?Thanks,Leo

Before I post a bug report on their website, could someone tell me where my stupidity lies: I can't get the Tinmouse.org 737-200 panel to work in FS9. I've downloaded their 8th of march and 23rd of march gauge builds with respective .cfg files, but all I get is "you can use this aircraft, but some features will be disabled: B732.gau" which is the only .gau file. I've also tried the FS2002 versions to no avail, I've also tried installing into both the panel folder or the main gauges folder without success...am I missing something? Thanks in advance!Best,sg

Has anyone had the problem with the airspeed indicator hanging at max speed even though the aircraft is actually going much slower??? I could be flying along normal (usually during a climb out or approach) and find the airspeed indicator going crazy on me. Seems it loses all functionality and gives a maxed out airspeed reading. The airspeed (IAS) feature of various autopilots depending on the plane I'm flying becomes useless and there

Has anyone else seen this?I am at FL350, and there is a scattered/broken layer of puffies way below me. Near flight level, a layer of thin stratus...both nicely rendered (have detailed clouds on, about 70%)However, the stratus layer appears behind (i.e.below) the puffies, although the perspective has the stratus streaming by quickly (closer) while the cummulus slip by very slowly (more distant). The effect would be really pretty and realistic if it were rebdered correctly...as is, it's quite irritating...Stock install, no addons...Radeon 9200 video.Thx in advance, any help appreciated.DaveKCOS

I rarely question editing decisions by the moderators here, but I've been baffled in recent days. More than one non-MSFS thread (i.e. on winglets, the 737's range, tail vs. wing engines) has stayed here in the past day or so. Yet a thread which is central to MSFS--that of MSFS freeware/shareware getting sold commercially, was moved over to Hangar Chat. Hangar Chat is a great place, don't get me wrong, but it is also less visited than this forum. I would think a thread central to the hobby of MSFS--and the desire of add-on authors like myself to make it known what's going on out there, would be allowed to stay where it would see the most discussion. Why move an MSFS …

At Discovery Channel I saw a program about airplane accidents, and the case shown was the tragic one of Swiss Air 111, which experienced a fire in the cockpit and crashed near to Halifax, where it was supposed to perform an emergency landing. A scary documentary with a sad ending. A long and detailed investigation of the cause of the accident was made, in order to prevent similar accidents in the future. And eventually the reason was found; an overheated entertainment system combined with flamable materials... One can only ask why such a new system had not been fully tested before use...As I often do flights connected with current or historic events, I wanted to have a lo…
