Can anyone tell me what it is about certain DXT3 textures that causes FS to crash when Render to Texture is disabled? Is there a fix, aside from using 32-bit textures? On the other side, is there a fix for flickering 2-D panels with it on? Thanks for any info!Best,sg

...yesterday?I had no new scenery added, nothing changed deleted or whatsoever on Saturday when I shut down Fs2004.On Sunday, when I restated the sim, those masseges like "Adding New Scenery Objects", "Recreating Data Base" etc. pooped up on the opening screen.Could it be that this had to do with the beginning of this year's dalight saving time in Europe last weekend? Does anybody else had his scenery data base recreated for unexplicable reasons?Wolfgang

I am considering purchasing UT. Because I am still using WIN98SE and there is a note on the website that there "might" be a problem using UT with WIN98 I am concerned. Has anyone who has used this program with WIN98 had a problem or conflict between the two? Thanks. GLBatRIC

O.K. I may get slammed for this one but I don't understand the hype and site changes going on over there at VMAX. Looking at the pics, their new version of Ready for Pushback looks exactly like the version I have.:-hmmm What in the world is so big and grand and new about their 747 that beats out the old (FS2k4) one? The panel looks the same, the VC hasn't changed, the only thing I've seen that looks different (besides the website) is a new default paint scheme. I love my VMAX version of the 747-200 in FS2k4 (interactive VC etc.) so what's so different and new about this new one their pushing???

Can't stand the horrid tone, and flashing textures of Hong Kong 2004's sea textures. Anyone know how to replace them with default textures?-Andre

Can anyone that bought this add-on commemt on it? Would you say it is worth the money? pros/cons?

Anybody know how to do this correctly? I have the NYC_objects package added at a higher priority than Aerosoft's Manhattan. This replaces the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building like I wanted but it also changes the Metlife building which I didn't. Also the Metlife building is now in the middle of a smaller building. On the Aerosoft forums somebody had a screenshot of the two sceneries meshed perfectly but he didn't give any details on how he accomplished this feat beyond saying adding it at a higher priority. I have asked this question there too but I though maybe somebody here has gotten it to work.Thanks

Hi everyone,I wonder if anyone could help me with the "whistling wind" sound that comes with putting the simulator into "spot" view. (Not in cockpit or virtual cockpit or tower view.) I guess that this is "realistic" in the sense that you'd hear a lot of whistling wind if you were standing on the wing of an aircraft in flight. But, all the same, I'd like to get rid of the wind noise. Does anyone know how to eliminate (or considerably mute) the wind noise in spot view?Many thanks,Mike

Hi peeps, I just bought FS2004 yesterday and am checking in with pleas for help with understanding what's available and where it is. Where/what are the good forum boards? I'm looking for a couple helicopters to fly. Any suggestions? Please take into account I'm a noob flyer also. I've tried to do the first lesson but so far my pooter will not give me good enough sound to be able to understand what the guy is saying. I'm s'posed to have a good soundboard but I'll have to tinker. :D

Some vendors show really neat screenshots where the camera angle is outside of the aircraft, zooming in on the landing gear, or other parts of the aircraft. I can't seem to replicate these using FS2004 spot plane view. Is there another FS2004 view angle, or there a third party add-on that permits you to position the camera angle differently than what is provided with FS2004 spot plane view? Many thanks, Rudi.

I have just loaded FS9 for the first time, and I have a couple of queeries that someone out there may be able to help me with. Firstly is there a zip that allows you to take the disc out when running FS9. Secondly, each time I try to access the desktop, by changing the view size the system crashes. Is there a way around this please.

Thanks to all for the excellent forum.I recently acquired FS2k4, and way back when I was flying FS98 I paid cash dollars for some add in aircraft, laird solution, travel air mystery, geebee etc. Is there a way of getting these units to work correctly in fs2k4? Also, I'm computer literate, but just can't seem to figure out how to install add on scenery. Most instructions say add the scenery file to the folder where you install the add on scenery, but I'm gettin bogged down someplace. Any help appreciated, tks

The posky 747 has a really nice jet spray effect tied to the smoke system that other have successfully used with other planes (see the "Bad Weather" clip at FSClips.com).Does anyone know how to go about making that, or a similar effect, work for AI planes?
