As the title says I cannot select free flight in the FSX menu. I can select any other option except for free flight and multiplayer. However, although I can select missions, I cannot start them either. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I am currently attempting a full reinstall to see if that rectifies my issue.

Greetings, I recently upgraded my computer and am trying to play fsx. However, it's like ive never upgraded. I still get about 20 fps at small airports and in flight, then 10-12 at major airports or major areas. I don't understand why. My setting are at ultra for the most part. For the display portion I switched the allowed framerate to stay around 50. Antialaising is on, and i play at trilinear. I was just flying out of corpus Christi NAS outbound to the Gulf of Mexico. My textures are showing the Gulf to be a vast prairie with an occasional town. Can someone give me a hint where to start? I have Ultimate Terrain X and Justin Tyme's terrain mesh along with GEX. Any help appreciated.

I recently installed FSX-SE and with it I installed EZdok. It worked fine on my boxed version but when I try to use it on SE it says something like, "Simmconnect does not answer for more than 10 seconds." I think that I have the latest version and cannot get it to work. James

As of today, when I minimize the FSX window or leave the cockpit for an alternative view, upon returning to the cockpit the Saitek panels (Yoke, etc) are completely killed. Have to reboot to get them back. Any idea what to do?

Hi there. Here in Blighty ( :england-flag:), our rules for abbreviating General Aviation call signs are a little different from those used on the western side of the pond ( ). The full call sign G-ABCD would be abbreviated where appropriate to G-CD. Whilst I am aware that VoxATC has this covered, can more realistic abbreviation be achieved with the base product? Cheers, Z

Hi Guys, I've searched for a long time to get the best setting but 99% of the time it's about quadcores... In the past my only tweak was the highmemfix but I'm reading about the Affinitymask tweak and used the calculator on a website. It gave me Affinitymask=4. But now I read on 2 forums that the correct number is 9?? I sure could use some help! Some extra fps is welcome, especially with the pmdg! Thanks guys!

Hi All, I have an issue with night (during the day the textures looks great) textures where they appear like 8 bit colors, mountains are appear green. I have ORBX Global, ORBX Vector, and I'm currently downloading ORBX FTX openLC Europe. Is there something separate called FS Global MESH? I don't ever remember this product or downloading it. Please let me know if this is something that should be part of the whole package....assuming I want to be able to have the complete and total scenery complements. If there is such a separate product, I can't believe I've missed the discussion on it. Stan

Last night I purchased the Aerosoft BAC Lightning F6. I have to say it's the best $16 I've spent in years! It is an amazingly good re-creation of one of true aviation icons of the Cold War - the standard RAF interceptor from the early 1960s that remained in service for around 20 years. What is mind-blowing to me is what you get for a ridiculously low purchase price - in-depth systems modeling, a challenging but fun to fly aircraft and in addition it is TacPac compatible. I was worried that frame rates might be a problem because of its complexity, but it has been absolutely smooth. Im trying to push back in the left or right directions and i press 1 and 2 but it does nothing.. is there a way to fix this? (I havent been here for a while, just if this was posted earlier my apologies, just started FSX-SE not too long ago)

Hi folks, I just thought I'd share this little thing I made yesterday...... I was thinking about the light aircraft in FSX that would not normally ever have an autopilot fitted, but where for conveniance in simming, we'd like the opportunity to stabilize the aircraft (for example for a quick bathroom visit!). Of course, you can just add an existing autopilot gauge in to such aircraft, as a pop up, and it will do the job. But for me, it looks awkward having a big KFC225 style AP pop-up in my light aircraft. So I created "You have control". Just about to replace my 22" monitor. I have an old i7-920 overclocked to 4GHz (probably to be replaced by an i7-6700k before the end of the year) and a GTX 970. I will be going for a single screen setup (lack of space) and definitely want a monitor rather than a TV because of other interests. What resolution are you using for FSX and what size of screen?

Hi I am new to flight simming and to forums (hence I don't know what a tag is or why I might need it), I have to admit that I know very little about computers and certainly have yet to know where anything I download is (thank god for desktop icons) so what follows is going to be a real challenge but I am methodical and eager to learn.. The problem has been a developing one, I have had a cyclic made and was just starting to fly the EC135 (a friend who knows how to downloaded it) and everything (apart from the helo immediately shifting backwards and to the left) seemed to be working fine. Sorry, I must be blind. I cannot find the "search" button anywhere in the forums. I know that I have used this function in the past in the forums. All of a sudden, I can no longer run FSX. The opening splash screen is displayed, but that's it. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling -- same scenario. Hi all, I am using FSX in Windows 7 64bit and have REX and GEX-UTX all installed and working great. I enjoy GA flying and Commercial short and long haul flying too, well all flying really. However one thing bugs me as I get more experience, that is ATC control. I construct my flight plan and off I go, but as I approach the destination I find the default ATC, which doesn't support SID's and STAR's, which I want to learn more about, doesn't announce the runway to land on until the last minute, leaving no time to set up a proper STAR arrival and approach and then goes and sends me to the wrong runway. Usually the one with a tail wind, which I know is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!…

Hi, I'm running FSX Gold with Acceleration and DX10, I've installed Tim Conrads lovely looking Antonov An-32, but there is no engine sound. The sound folder is aliased to the crj700 (?), I've tried swapping out the sound folder with the default King Air, but still no sound. Checked all the levels... Any ideas?

I'm wondering if this works in FSX SE, and also contains the PMDG 777? Or do I need to get this seperately? Also how is it?

I am having issues with this program: I am using p3dv2.5 but I believe these error msgs are simply related to doing something wrong. I have Rex Texture Direct and soft clods on main server. I have Active sky on a network. On the weather engine line in the config; I have it pointing to the ASN.exe on the client. These error msgs are about scenery, etc; if someone has had this issue, could you point me in the right direction...not because of Rex's support site down but because all or maybe politely.. most of the Flight Simulator brains and talent reside here at Avsim Thanks for any help. Hi all, I have recently brought TrackHat and it works great when Ezdok is Globally disabled ideal when flying GA aircraft, but I just cannot get it to work in conjunction with EZdok. I read the thread about starting it before FSX then going in through the Add-on menu item and disabling it and re-enabling EZDok but it still does not seem to work for me. I am using the 1.1.85beta version of EZDok along with FSX:SE When i create a view and enable the TIR button the TIR button on the top of EZDok does not illuminate (the one next to active and connected). No head movement is possible and it will not change view if you click on another camera view if one has been created…

Hi all: I'm looking at upgrading my GEX 1.099 to 2.0 and I had a couple questions I'd appreciate some help with. 1. I am running ORBX Trees HD which was installed after GEX 1.099. Does GEX 2.0 overwrite the trees so I need to reinstall the trees after GEX. 2. Does GEX 2.0 overwrite anything in UTX? And in general, any opinions on whether the upgrade is worth doing from a visual perspective? I am always reluctant to make major changes when I have everything working pretty well. Whever I try to change anything in weights and fuel with the kittyhawk 737s fs just crashes to the desktop.. Is there a fix
