New to BSSMM and think it's great. Only problems are the aircraft symbol doesn't show up on the charts which makes it difficult to pinpoint location. Also, can't get the wx feature to work. I'm using ASN Jeff Evans Rocklin, CA, USA

Hi Guys, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and after a few problems P3D 2.5 now works well with all addons, but.... I upgraded the Q400 with the 1.016 patch and now everytime I load it on any airport, it bounces up and down, so that the IRS will not align and all monitors had this bouncing shown on all the values like level, QNH, even Oil pressure bounces up and down. Unlike the well known bouncing issue from some times ago, this will not stop after a few seconds, but continues on and on. Anyone able to help me? Thank you in advance, Tris

I have spent a few hours digging through different forums and google searches but have come up empty (maybe I suck at searching). Does anyone know if there is a RXP GNS 530/430 config set up for Manfred Jahn's DC-3/C-47 v2? I recently started flying this plane and really enjoy it (probably the best freeware I have ever used) however I would really prefer to use the RXP GNS systems. Is there one already made out there that I just haven't found? Or is there someone here that is more talented than me who is willing to do the integration? Thanks.

I usually fly on X-Plane, but recently somebody came up with support for FSX on the Oculus DK2. I dug up my old install credentials (Gaming for Windows Live ) and happily it still ran. With the Oculus support installed it becomes a very immersive simulator that I've started using for real flight practice. For fun, on my last flight in a Cessna 172SP, I wore a GoPro on my head for a POV video, then reflew the whole thing that evening in FSX with the Rift. Makes for a great comparison between VR flight and how close it is now to reality. I didn't have much for addons loaded at the time, but you get the idea : If you have a DK2, definitely give it a look.…

I have fsx for steam and REX. Currently I startup rex first and generate the textures by selecting I just want to fly from the menu, I know this takes a while especially with water textures, however do I have to do this each time? Many Thanks

Last night I did a wipe and reinstall of Windows 7 SP1 and MS-FSX. I then added FTX Global and ORBX Trees and set my sliders to the FTX Global recommendations, which are mostly maxed with a few exceptions. Frames set to unlimited. No other modifications to fsx.cfg. First flight; over Friday Harbor in the Trike. Frame rate is 175+ and outside the trike it looks pretty darn good I don't think that I've ever seen frame rates like that on my machine. I doubt they will remain once I kick in REX, ASN, etc., but it is fun while it lasts. :smile:

Hi, I am using the IVAO MTL package for flying online and the lights of the AI aircraft seem overly bright and big...almost as if the aircraft is engulfed in flames!! I have read that one should try using a different halo.bmp file...my question is do the IVAO MTL package use the standard fsx halo file or not...how can I change this file to a better one and any suggestions for a halo file itself that will not produce such lights pls? i have tried to post some images but for the life of me I keep getting not allowed to post this type of image extension...i m using .jpg or .png as per forum instructions. thanks to all emann

After installing FSX on a new Windows 10 system, the window that shows the aircraft selected is black regardless of the selection. The display driver has been updated and everything displays okay in the full 3D window when flying. Anyone know the reason?

So recently I ran into a scenery issue where the causes are a mystery to both FSDreamTeam and Flightbeam. Now Remember their sceneries are controlled by couatl (addon manager). So to the issue, essentially when I load the flight spawning at any of the airports made by those software manufactures half the buildings are either missing or they are gone. I know that sounds the same because it is. Every single time I spawn at FSDreamTeam or FlightBeam airport some buildings go missing. I decided to play around and restart addon manager ( couatl) several times....and guess what happened....some buildings reappeared and some disappeared. But here is where it gets interesting as …

Is there a way to have up-to-date SIDS/STARS in the fsx gps? I have been using V-Route and simroutes to generate real world routes, but even with the most up to date airac cycle, some of the SIDS/STARS are missing. For Example: KPHX- CHILY4 DEP is available in V-Route, but not the similar alternative, JUDTH3.

Does anyone know of a way to really lower the brightness of stars at night? I'm using Autostar X and there is a way in the Tools option to lower brightness but in FSX that does not really show, especially if you zoom out in any of the views, the stars become brighter and brighter. I'm guessing that this has something to do with mipmapping each pixel? However I'm not sure. How are the individual pixels of the stars in FSX generated? I came across the fx_Dots.bmp and fx_WhiteDot in the FSX Effects folder and thought that these files may be related to the star pixels. Can anyone recommend a decent UK distributor where I can pick up the Saitek yoke and pedals? I've tried to buy direct from Saitek but their website is rubbish and won't accept my card details, despite the fact my card works. Prices are highly inflated on Amazon and eBay. I just bought the Quest Kodiak and find that the red knobbed “Condition Lever” does not work. Neither does it work in the default Cessna Caravan. Aside from the “condition lever,” everything else seems to work normally in both aircraft. I have only the steam edition of FSX.

Hello anyone. I have just moved from XP to Win7 and also have unloaded FS9 in exchange for FSX. My problem at this time is I am having a hard time setting up my controls. Saitek Yoke and Rudder peddels, Go flight TQ6, VRInsight MCP-11 Boeing Type V1.100 VRInsight Switch Panel. When I set up my switches and open FSX and push a switch they seem to do something entirely different like switch a view and also the GF-TQ6 I set up the Levers the same way I did in FS9 and the flap lever moves the rudder I could just about write a sxmall book about this problem.
