Hi all! I installed the FS9 patch yesterday and it has worked just about right for me. The only one minor complaint I have though is about the Autogen. Before the patch, I noticed while flying autogen would smoothly transition and show up very nicely. Now with the patch installed, autogen just "pops" up in places instead of smoothy coming into view. It actually isn't that big of a problem, but it is slightly annoying.Has anyone else notice anything like this? Thanks!BrianBash :-wave

Hi AllIt appears that I may be one of the minority for installing the Patch.I installed FS2004 about a year ago and found that it appeared to be a little buggy so I used FS2002 without changing any settings or files to enhance the FPS in FS2004.When I did boot up FS2004 it was from the CD#4 which I had to leave in the E Drive after my initial install.I installed the patch with all the original files that come with FS2004 and it installed in approximately 2 min. with no problem.Reading the threads it appears that fellow simmers who have changed some files to enhance the FPS and also use a No-Cd program are the ones having the problems.I am not puter literate but wish all t…

Hi all, since some days now I have this nice one!Every time I start FS9, it tells me right away that I have not enough memory, FS9 cannot start.BUT I have cleaned up my partitions, all have more than 20% free space, the one where FS9 and the one where WinXP is installed have both enough free HDD memory. My SWAP Page file is 1534MB in size fixed. What is the problem??? I have tooo many pay-addons to reinstall everything from scratch!Do you have any idea what the cause of this problem realy is and how to solve it?

I would like any assistance regarding frame rates and this otherwise great product. I've been a little dismayed at the amount of stuttering. I don't have the top of the line machine (AMD 2600, 1 Gig of DDR RAM, GeForce FX5700 128MB Ultra Video Card with updated drivers and anti-alias and anisotropic filters set at only 2X) but I think it should render this a little smoother. Even with my display sliders at 50%, AI traffic at 0%, and the VC at the lower setting my frame-rates stutter between 30-40's and 15-16 every few milliseconds. 30's-40's would be great but it's the frequent 15's that chop it up. It's worse in the 2D cockpit. It's almost like something's running in the…

Hello, After installing the patch I was not really happy with the results, such as how autogen buildings just "popped" up instead of fading into view. I uninstalled the patch and put my old .xml file into work. Now the autogen still "pops" into view. Am I cursed? Anyone else had this problem? Thanks!Brian Bash :-wave

After installing the patch I did get a increase in frame rate with extremely dense autogen enabled and that's good. I installed the patch for FS2004 and everybody says that it fixed there autogen problem and the readme says that but I still get major slow downs when I have autogen turned on, as low as 10 in a certain spot over Anaheim, CA, after doing a 180 degree turn facing where I started slewing from. Flew from LAX to Van Nuys and during final to Van Nuys Rwy 16 it was around 16 fps. I'm using extremely dense autogen. When I zoom in a few times I see autogen objects that I can't see at a normal zoom during the frame rate drop. I'm running a P4 3 GHz, 1 GB PC3200 Dual…

I just noted what I think is something odd; but maybe not. I was considering some tweaks from forum members and had occasion to go looking for my FS9.cfg file. I couldn't find it. I did find an FS9.cfg.bak file that lives in ProgramFilesFSManagerzippedFS2004. But, not an FS9.cfg file?!The .cfg's I do have are:activecamera2004.cfgdevices.cfgdisplay.cfgfs2000.cfgfs2002.cfgIWIscenery.cfgoldscenery.cfgscenery.cfgsuneffect.cfgterrain.cfgObviously something replaced or modified it (I guess) but what? Or, maybe I don't need one now? My system seems to be running normally. My quest started when I went looking for the FS9.cfg file to make an adjustment to reset terrain_max-v…

I am installing LC for a specific area so my question is can I just make a folder in the add-on scenery directory, name it landclass and activate it in FS9... if the answer is yes... can I put ALL area specific LC in the same folder for say different sceneries so if and when I fly to these areas it is correct. Thanks in advanceSteve

HiI have copied versions of FS9 under alterred paths, in order to save the originals while adding add-ons and variations to clouds etc... This way I always had a clean set hidden under "Flight Simulator 9-org" available for getting files back to the original situation. My question: If I install the patch to the original, can I transfer the altered files my "other" FS9? I am suspicious of this because Ive read that after patch install, it requires two uninstalls to uninstall FS( meaning that if I want to apply the patch to a second install it would already have been "installed" according to the registry?).So will it be installed a second time anyway to my path of choice? Or…

Eddie I hope your are watching:Do any of the various MS patch scenery bgls upgraded replace the terrain and landclass files installed? Have not had a close look yet.If so, I assume a reinstall and run again the patch you released is necessary. Please comment.

Okay, here's what I was trying to accomplish. I wanted to do a parallel clean install of FS9. So, renamed my original FS9 directory, and attempted to install a totally clean version to patch against. I get to CD4 and it won't recognize it. I don't have problems running my first install, didn't have this problem when I installed my first install, they are the same set of disks, etc. etc. I seem to recall that there were issues when FS9 first came out with some folks not be able to get beyond disk 3. Anybody remember the fix? Am baffled.

Ken just locked a thread that discussed a subject that is forbidden. He acted appropriately, as the rules in this forum are clearly defined.I've read that thread and some others just like it the last few days, I'll bet many other readers have also read them.My observation is that not one of the posters seems to me to be a pirate. No one wrote in any sense of concern that they can't fly flightsim now...no...just that they are bothered to have to handle the disk 4. Bob Bernstein

Hi AllWith all the talk about installing the patch, I would like to ask others if I did install the patch correctly.I have always been using Disk #4 in my CD Rom since I installed FS2004 last year for the program to boot up.I installed the patch with Disk #4 in the E drive and appeared to install with no problems with the mention of Installed successfully after installation.I then booted up FS2004 and during the initial boot I got a message indicating the scenery was being update. The program then booted as per advertised with no problems.I have flown for approximately 12 hours with no problems. The bridges all appear to have been updated which was mentioned in the document…

I totally removed my whole FS2004 installation and reinstalled for the patch. I delete the entire fs9 folder. Upon reinstallation and patching, I installed the flight1 Cessna just to take it for a quick flight. Everything was fine. Then I tried to reinstall ActiveCamera. I did the installation, then patched. While in the VC I can mouse zoom and move my view around the cockpit by holding down the mouse wheel and moving the mouse. BUT when I try to set a new view point to be saved as part of a config, the game just hangs! I press 'CTRL-ALT-1' with my view set and then my FS will not respond anymore.Anyone else having this issue? Is there and active camera forum?

Started to d/l fs9 patch into Dummy folder but someone tried to use phone line so corrupted download. Even though I deleated that folder, when I try to start a new download of patch in a NEW FOLDER it wants to start where it was when I deleated original folder. It wants to start at 4mbd/l instead of at the first. I removed temp files and deleated cookies and restarted computer, but still wants to start where it was when d/l file was corrupted. ANY IDEAS on how to start original new patch D/L from Microsoft siteThanks Chuck

Pete's contribution? Ummmm, well, FSUIPC costs about $28 US dollars so he's not 'contributing' as much as profiting :) Actually as it stands now, FSUIPC is more expensive that the Flight Simulator 2004 program itself - at least at most US retail outlets these days. All is good though, I'm a registered owner of FSUIPC too. Pete has made some serious bucks with this program and that's great as far as I'm concerned. I just don't consider payware programs contributions to the community as such :) Insert Flames here -------->

In the previous thread that I started a few days ago about fixing the new 707 with panel problems, I posted my most recent message about replacement flight dynamics for that plane with an invitation for anyone interested to email me. I have only had one email expressing such interest and would have expected many more, so I assume that the thread is now too old and that my message has not been seen by many. If you are interested in the new files please read my message in that thread. I don't know how to post a link to that thread but it currently goes back 10 pages.

Is the efect of disablig the xml at the same level of performance as the previous one? I can't tell a diference but to anyone who tryed, what where the results?

I have installed the FS9.1 patch. Is it possible to use the NO CD FS9patch with the new FS9.exe file? This is the patch that allows you to start FS9 without having to insert Disc #4.I ask this question since Microsoft indicated that you could not install the FS9.1 patch correctly if you had altered the FS9 file from the original.Thank you.Stanner

  25. Hello--This isn't related to the new FS9 patch, which I am ambivalent about, given I am pretty happy with the way ACOF works and looks in my computer (it was a bit of a slog to get there!). One of my few remaining beefs is the texturing of the FS9 night environment. Most of the time the night sky has rather cartoonish, blue-tinted quality to it contrasts notably with the terrain. Ditto the night water textures (I have FS Water by the way, though the default H2O textures were little different in regards to this issue). They have a luminescent, blue green glow, even in the dead of night, which is again cartoonish and unrealistic. In a real night environment (especiall…
