I was looking at the approach into Zurich rwy 14, and there is a holding at EKRIT intersection, but it doesn't specify a leg time or leg distance. Is it normal to have that given to you by the controller or what am I supposed to do here? When looking at other STAR charts I don't see any information on those either.Regards-Mikkel

This may be a stupid question for some..but I really love flying aircraft i nthe VC..but th panel quality, hard to read gauges, etc are getting on my nerves...as well as the FPS in these planes...for add ons like PMDG 737, Feelthere CRJ, and eaglesoft jets...will I see a dramatic improvement in FPS if I go to the 2D panel?

Yet, none have really wrung true. I fly in the Nashua, NH area and one of the biggest landmarks for miles around is the Haystack Observatory on the Groton/Westford, MA border off of Rt 40. It's coordinates are N42.6181383/W71.491861 (or N42 37 6.1788/W71 29 30.6997) (or N42 49.85781/W71 33.25002). It's web page with many pictures is http://www.haystack.mit.edu/. Hi all. Can anyone suggest why I don't get the shiny reflections on my a/c or the chrome effect on the stock 737 which I used to get in FS2002?I have a Radeon 9600 PRO - is this not capable of rendering those effects?Thanks a lot.

When i make a sharp turn on a big speed (25 kts for example) and then press 5 to center the wheel the aircraft should immediately stop turning and continue sraight forward from the point when i pressed 5. But this bloody aircraft continues to turn for some more 2 seconds, so i have to turn the wheels to the opposite side to center it.I am 100%, no even 200% sure that it is some number in the aircraft.cfg that should be changed. I just dont know which.If someone could help.Thanx

Hi to every one. I have tried to get the engines going, but it seems to be impossible. I follow all the steps, but I can't start them. The left engine starts to run just a little, but that's all, it won't go more than that. Please give me a hand on this one.Thank you

Can anyone tell me how well the CRJ performs as far as FPS is concerned?? is it as much of a hog as the PMDG 737 or eaglesoft stuff, or is it reall frame rate friendly...I fly in VC so I am particularly concerned with it

I want to make new taxiway signs in an aiport, deleting the old ones. to delete them i make an exclude switch, BUT it also prevents new signs from showing up.How could i make the new ones show up?Thank you

Is anyone using the above system in FS2004?I recently received a present of one, but have not installed it yet, as the main controls on throttle and joystick seemed quite stiff. Now this could just be because they are new, but I must say I found the action jerky compared with the infrared technology of the Microsoft Sidewinder Pro. Also, I'm not sure if you can have more than one joystick installed, and am afraid of messing up the Sidewinder settings.Would be grateful for any opinions, and also how you have the various buttons and switches set up.Thanks a lot,Frank

There are a lot of changes that can be made to the FS9.cfg file that will affect performance , display etc.The obvious and often quoted one here is the Terrain Max Vertex Level but there are many others of which many of us know very littlePerhaps one of the real "experts" on the CFG file could be persuaded to post a list of the most useful mods on here - that post then maybe could be kept as a "sticky" at the top of the forum.Dave

I keep seeing people posting videos of FS in AVI format. Some I know where done by recording to a DVD player, then editing on the PC.Is there any software that can either record to AVI live (I suppose thats doubtful, due to the processor required for that), or export a display over a network fast enough to be recorded on another PC.Maybe there is another way. I have a few PCs on a network here, if it makes it possible to record one PC on the other. I have VNC, but I dont think it exports the 3D layer and the update speed is pathetic.Any ideas?

one guy told me to use goldwave to raise any aircaft sound volume, so i made the volume 150% which suted me the bestBUT FS when playing this file (it is a file with FLAPS sound) does notdo what it should.let me epxlain. when i retract flaps there is a flaps starting sound thenLONGGG flaps retracting sound and the stop sound. but after making the filelouder FS just plays the file again and again for the needed period of timeand it doesnt STRETCH the sound as it should to make that middle periodlong enough to fully retract the flaps. instead the file is played 4 timeshow to fix that?

Well, after a few days I decided to go ahead and take my chances with the patch. I really wanted the CTD issue to be resolved and was hoping for better frames as well. I installed the FSUIPC 3.40 (registered version), renamed the autogen file back to default.xml (that's what is was called out of the box, right?), and moved my mesh/landclass files out of FS9 for the install. I just did a test flight out KPHX (I'm most familiar with that airport and it's performace with UT). It's late, so I chose the wonderful RealAir Scout for my run. Early impressions are awesome!! Hi everyone, I have a pretty good system, P4 3ghz, 1gb ram, ati 9800pro and I am getting good frame rates with no clouds 30 to 40 fps but if I use real weather or a cloud theme my rates drop to between 15 and 22 jumping up and down all the time, very anoying to watch.Any advice? I have not installed the patch yet and have a question regarding reported frame rate increases. Are these increases when compared to the tweaked version 9.0 ? or are they vs. the default 9.0 ?I have completed the Default XML fix in version 9.0 and really don't care about barns and fast food restraunts, etc. So if there is no increase with the patch then I think I will leave it as is.Mark.

I was wondering what people have to say about the free mesh of Switzerland and Austria by Vincent van Veen. I have had a couple of bad experiences with free mesh before, and I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this, so I thought I would check before downloading it.-Mikkel
