Hello All,Ok, went to install patch, said I already had a version of FSE and it had to be removed before installing new version. Did so with XP remove programs, did not manually remove, did it by the numbers.Installed new 110 FSE. Works fine if I go to an airport which I have FSE scenery, or, if I start at that one, go to add, and then change airports, it sometimes works.If it is anew airport I want to modify, it asks for the 8 digit hex code beofre it will operate. Then it aske me to install 8 digit hex number, and I do . . . nothing, dead meat. It will not let me build any new loacations . . .anyone else have this problem?HelpClay

I have never found out why so many instrument landings I make (with all aircraft as far as I can tell) end up, if left to their own devices until I take over at some 500 ft from touchdown, come down too fast and consequently want to land well short of the airport. The approaches are normal in all other respects, and the PAPI look good at the time the aircraft picks up the glidescope. But descent is then too rapid and the PAPI change to all red before long. If I don't disengage the AP and pull up I land amid houses and trees (or whatever). Am I doing something wrong? I find that setting flaps to only 15 - 20 degrees helps a bit. When I turn on the landing lights in the SGA DC-10-30, I get landing lights + huge lights shining out the side of each wing, directly left and right, for hundreds of feet. I thought these lights might react to a tailhook command to focus straight ahead but no luck; I tried Extend Concorde Visor key commands as well, but no luck either.Can anybody assist me to get these lights to shine forwards rather than adjacent/sideways to the a/c fuselage ?Thanks!JS

I downloaded Toni Agramont's excellent Spain04 and Kingdom of Morocco sceneries for FS2004, but to my disappointment, they do not contain AFCADs for the airports.As a result, my AI are parking in random places and even inside the buildings.My main concern is Madrid Barajas Int'l (MAD) and Casablanca Mohammed V Int'l (CMN). I have been unable to find any AFCADs for these two airports for his scenery.Does anyone know of any?Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I hope that they fix this in the next release (as far as ATC is concerned):I was at Columbia Gorge Regional (KDLS) and I was listening to the Automated Weather. As you know, if they don't have the name of the airport in the database, they'll just use the ICAO sign. The person doing the ATIS says it this way: KILO, DELTA, LIEMA, SIERRA, which I thought is pretty interesting, since the other voices pronounces the phonetic L correctly when it comes to the information type. I'm surprised the folks at MS didn't catch that one.

I mean what really MAKES a flight simulator? Ive run into a problem after installing FS9.1 Update. Flightsim flashes splashscreen briefly and then quits. It will not start. I went to the root folder to find file "fs9updateuninstall.exe" so i could uninstall the update and try again. The file is not there. Searched my computer and can't find it. Could somebody post the file so I can uninstall the update.I would like to get the Sim running again.Thanks for any help...Donn

hi all. i've just installed the east coast scenery of Raimondo Taburet. i put it in a folder in ad on scenery and installed it that way. thou the sim flys seemingly fine i get the error i've attached. any one have a clue? thanks, tt. [ oh yeah, fs2002pro]

I have purchased a GamePad for my laptop so I can take FS 2004 on the road. Can someone give me some hints on how to set it up with FS 2004?? For example the Right Joystick for throttle is centered, the throttle is centered. I would like to push the up to increase throttle and move it down to decrease throttle.Any help would be appreciated!Thanks!Barry

I have a 2.8 Ghz PC with 512 MB of Ram and Radeon 9800 Video Card. The problem I have is that on some of the addon sceneries and especially with PAI AI Planes, The graphics load slow. Even happens on Posky and Meljet planes.For example, I am using addon scenery at KBOS (Logan International) and it is populated with PAI Traffic. I switch to spot plane view and when I swing over to see the airport and terminals, most of the planes and some of the airport scenery is just grey, then after maybe 3 - 5 seconds, the bitmaps load and I see the normal scenery.Some of the more detailed non AI planes are worse. May take 5 - 7 seconds to load the bitmaps. I have not updated my video …

PROBLEM:My joystick blocks all my incoming and outcoming bandwidth whenever it is enabled and FS (fs2k2) is running! With the variety of add od aircraft I have, there are some which have an annoying trait. If I load certain jetliners, some show the little handheld Garmin GPS face when I select the GPS display. Is there something in the aircraft.cfg file that allows me to change to the "square faced" GPS? I've searched but haven't figured this one out. This kind of lighting would be the icing on the cake concerning the Flight1 172. It diffidently would set it apart from the default birds. I was actually surprised when I loaded up the plane at night only to find FS98 lighting in the VC. Since Flight1 may or may not step up to the plate on this issue, is there anyone willing to upgrade either the Flight1 Cessna 172 or the default Cessna's VC night lighting (I know there's an issue with working on payware work so I'm hoping Flight1 would do something on their end... Dear All:I installed the new patch successfully to the (older) FS9 version I have on my C drive. I did not even intend to update that version. It seems that the .exe is automatically choosing this older version & updating it. However, I got a new hard drive this summer (designated F drive). I installed another version of FS9 on my new F drive. How can I get the patch to update the FS9 version I have on my F drive? Even if I rename the FS9 folder on my C drive, with the hopes that the patch .exe will not "see" the C drive version, it tells me "It appears you have already updated your version to 9.1 - Installation will be cancelled."Is there any way to get the pat…

I do have a few question which I have not been able to find in the documentation. 1) Is there a way to lock the nose wheel during take off and landing?2) How do you approch those small airport that has no ILS, no VOR, no Runway lights.3) I love the LearerJet, but the one comes with FS9 does not cover a lot of things. Purchased the Flight1 Skyhawk 172R last night to celebrate my new (well...fresh) FS9.1 install.Superb looking aeroplane from all angles. I am experiencing problems with my joystick in that despite being configured correctly (ie all buttons and sliders are shewn to be working correctly) some buttons either don`t give a command or give the wrong instruction. In "assignments" I am unable to get certain buttons to show the correct number when assigning them.As I have a correctly functioning FS2002 I can only assume its some FS9 internal problem.As this problem only occurred recently, I have now completely uninstalled and reinstalled FS9 but even with the "basic" installation I still have the problem.Any advice would be most welcomeMany thanksGeorge

I've been considering purchasing the Pacific Northwest Megascenery if it ever gets released (since it covers the area where I live), but I'm not sure if I really like flying around the satellite scenery. It just feels too much like you are flying over a photograph sometimes (I own the Southern California version). Also, the load times are a bit of a killer, and texture loading during flight can be problematic.For me, the default scenery with a few enhancements is more immersive, and the autogen gives a good sense of reality and speed at low altitude.With add-ons like the upcoming FSGenesis "Roads, Streams, Rails, Utilities", the default scenery gets overlaid with accurate…

Today after installing an newly downloaded addon aircraft(a helicopter) - with this particular aircraft only - I found some odd effects - in the 2D panel view there were odd multicolored flickers when passing the mouse over the gauges, and changing into or out of the panel view produced a momentary purple colored background flash on the screen- none of this happens with any other aircraft - default or addon .In an effort to find out why I started playing around with the panel bitmaps - resaving in various .bmp tyoes - but the only effect this had was to make things radically worse - to the extent that trying to load the aircraft would producee an immediate "your compute…
