Hello FS friends:In 2-D view the panel bitmaps are bizzarely stretched (see attached). 3-D view, spot plane and tower views appear normal, as do all outside objects. Clickable hotspots in 2-D view seem to be placed normally.Any ideas how to fix this strange stretching of the 2-D panel bitmap?Thanks for your ideas

I think it's a good idea to group all knowledge regarding incompatibilities with modules and the FS2004 patch. Here's the first one I found:HostSB.dll Version 1.0.2.1 Randomly crashes FS2004 with patch installed.Any more?

I was just wondering, when a pilot files a High Altitude (Jet) flight plan for J tracks above FL 180, are they strictly enforced so that one can't fly let's say at FL 150? In other words, can you be on a J airway below 18000 or a Victor airway above? Thanks. Regards, Tom

I am just in the proccess of purchasing a Traffic add-on for FS9.Which one is the best out of:-Just flight traffic 2004Ulitmate TrafficOr are they both like for like products?Also i have noticed that on the Flight1.com web site the picture of Ultimate Traffic is a different picture to the one at the Just Flight.com web site...are they the same but package different due to flight 1 been US Based and Just Flight been UK Based sites?Regards Paul Teasdale

Hi ,this is what happened in my case ..Installed the new fs patch with no cd exe. and then uninstalled then reinstalled again with orginal fsexe. The first install with no-cd which did install but, the performance on my system went down from before ,so then I went ahead and removed the patch. After putting back the orginal FS exe. back in its correct place ,I then reinstalled the patch. Then ran the program and now I see the preformance gain that so many have been stating to see. I had I new install of FS with some addons installed durning this test.:-smooch

I have noticed a rather hostile attitude by most of the flightsim sites and some developers out there . It sure is obvious that MS has put the screws to them regarding a no-cd patch and probably some other stuff too. If they seriuosly think that hackers cant crack that little code, they are nuts. It's gonna happen, why make such a big fuss over it. And don't give me this copyright BS. Lets face it, if people can hack IE6 without breakin a sweat, FS9 is a joke to them. Just wanted to put in a good word for Editvoicepack 3.1Lars and all of those enthusiasts that have been making contributions have really pushed the default ATC to a new level. For those not flying in the USA you can now opt for ICAO phrasing, there are even options that allow you to use just portions of this phrasing which I find works better for US flying. I have been changing the names of the Pacific NW non-tower airports so instead of getting the alphanumeric you actually hear the aiport name (really adds to realism). I can only recommend to use Virtual CD (www.virtualcd-online.com) instead of the noCD patch.Nobody really seems to know if the noCD patch prevents FS to use certain features. This question, at least for me, is even more important after the upgrade to 9.1: the fs9.exe is definitely replaced, maybe there's a 'hidden feature' in it with which MS prevents patches like the noCD use new features of FS.Leaving CD#4 in the drive for me is inacceptable, as I suppose is for the major part of other FS users as well.So, I decided to go for Virtual CD: this product is able to copy CD#4 to a virtual drive, including the protection mechanism, thus leveraging me from the burdon to either…

My attempt at installation failed with no error message. The computer just hung with the display: Processing: modulesPANELS.dll at 0%I rebooted and attempted to run FSUpdate uninstall. This failed with the message: unbatch.bat is not a valid WIN32 application.When I attempt to rerun the installation I get the message: FS 9.1 appears to be installed already. Installation terminated.The sim appears to run normally (without being updated) in spite of all this.Does anyone know how I can back out of the failed installation and try again?LouB

I really enjoyed PSS's 777 for FS2002. I have not heard of any one developing a similar product for FS2004. Anyone know if there is any in the works?

...as far as I am concerned and it seems it has come up short when considering patches and what they can or should do. I'm glad there is a patch and hopefully others will find it useful but as far as I can tell the main part of the patch is to add bridges that a lot of third parties have already done and from users are better than the new ones in the patch. As far as the auto gen goes, I fl over a city then turn around and zoo in and all the auto gen buildings I see are the the ones that are in the default.xml file which is what I thought was the problme in the first place where it keeps them drawn even when out of view. Hi,Haven't flown any of the default jets in FS9 for quite some time and today when my son wanted to try the 747 I noticed a strange problem - there was no sound from the engines, not inside the cockpit nor in any outside views. The only engine sounds that could be heared was the sounds from the AI jets.Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Have tried to replace all the ai and xai files in FS9's sound directory but the problem persists. Also tried deleting fs9.cfg to have FS generate a new one but still the same problem... After the patch I still have a cavernous hole in the terrrain around Springfield Missouri area by Stockton lake and there still is a big bridge sitting on the Kansas City airport. So over a year later and still basic errors in teh program go un-fixed.Steve

I'm not sure what happened. I haven't flown MSFS9 in some time. I have recently installed XP SP2 (bout a month or so ago).Now when I go to "Select Aircraft", often times the aircraft displayed are missing major textures...anything from the fuse to the whole plane...just shiny dull tan color. Then when I select a plane that looks right in this display, sometimes it comes up the same way. Sometimes missing fuse (or half of the fuse) textures, sometimes missing wing textures...my Piedmont AFG YS-11 has no textures, tho the stock plane does. Hi, Was going through the forum today looking to see if anyone has the same card that I do: Fx 5700 graphics card by Nvidia. I can see major change in graphics and so forth. It is actually beautiful. There is only 1 problem though: Every few seconds there is a slight stutter. A bit annoying when using Flight simulator. I read here that someone had same problem and someone recommend that he "change the Bios Agp Aperture", how does one do this? I am not running anything in the background and I have plenty of memory and disc space and so forth. Can someone help me with the above operation? How many files should I be copying from the CD? I have the FS9 File Locations spreadsheet. I want to see how the performance is with the new patch.

I just installed the update with no problem. However, the aircraft have blank texutres. The default ones will load with textures, but they soon are gone. I also have the PMDG 373, 1900D, BAE 146, CS 727 and these have the same problem. The panel and everything loads fine, just not the textures. Any suggestions?Justin

I seem to recall reading that there were some files missing from FS2004 which are used in lessons. If I remember correctly, we needed to go to FS2000 and copy some files from it to FS2004 to have a complete set. I'm considering uninstalling FS2000 and wanted to do this before I do.I searched the forums for the topic but could not find it.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Earl

I've been experiencing a problem on my own system with the site in general. I can't seem to access any files that I download. I click on the download button for any file on the server, and once it downloads, it tells me that the file was not found. If I try to extract the file instead, I get a box that tells me that there are no files to extract. It seems as though this problem only exists when downloading from Avsim, as all other sites I've used worked fine. Has anyone else had this same problem? And if so, how can it be fixed? Thanks,George
