With all of the issues such as the xp service pack, the issue with FS9.EXE, and others I cannot figure out if it is worth the update.I dont use SDK, and I am not the best at going into files and folders to mannually correct files ect...thus I may be opening a can of worms that may not be worth it.What I have at this time is FSGenesis add on mesh and scenery, Petes latest updates which I understood from reading might cause the MS mentioned issues that require manual repairs. The briges would be cool but man I have done things in the past and ended up having to do a full re-install.Any ideas.Thank you.

I'm looking to get the most "realistic" Piper Warrior for MSFS2004. By realistic, I'm mean one that has the most accurate flight characteristics. I'm getting checked-out in a real warrior at the my flight club and could use the practice. Any suggests would be appreciated. Thanks for any help.Raven94

Hi !I successfully upgraded to 9.1 but I am now getting a much more stuttery flying experience than I had previously. Luckily I created a restore point prior to installation so I have gone back to my original installation and all is ok again. Anyone else experience this or anyone out there have any ideas? I think it may be sound related (I have a SB Audigy2 NX USB soundcard).ThanksJonny

Hello All,This is my first post here so HI! I havent flown on FS for about 5 months because I am really getting into ATC on vatsim, me and a couple of fellow controllers decided to buzz around in 172's and the like. SO I fire up FS9 and to my shock my framerates are horrible. About 1-2 FPS. Also I cannot get it into Full screen mode, it is always maximized so I still see the task bar. What could do this??ThanksPSSystem Specs2.8ghz Pentium 4Nividia GeForce FX Go56000 64Mgs512 RamWindows XpFS2004

Has anyone here started using the $17.00 SFX utility that adds the sounds of other aircraft in the vicinity? Ive tried the demo at KORD, and it seems really good. Im wondering if anyone here actually uses the other functions in the $35.00 version. Thanks,

Hi,I'm having some control issues with the Cessna, both on the ground and in the air. On the runway, I find it very difficult to keep the aircraft in a straignt line for take off - it wants to go left all the time. Naturally, I thought this was a torque issue caused by propeller wash, so I changed all my realism settings from max to min, but still had the same problem. In the air also, the plane wants to turn left, and seems to be fighting the AP a bit when engaged. In fact, it seems so jittery, even in level flight with no wind - the plane moves constantly up and down by small amounts. I can't think what I might be doing wrong? Now I hesitate to mention this, lest I be tho…

Folks, in my enthusiasm to benchmark the patch, I installed and uninstalled twice. Now it is uninstalled (as confirmed by lack of bridges, and V9.0 in the About box), and when I try to apply the patch it reports, "The Flight Simulator 9.1 update appears to be installed already. Installation has been cancelled."(Using original Fs9.exe)Help!Jon

Hi EveryoneReading through some of the threads related to the patch, it appears that some simmers have to insert one of the FS9 CD to run the program and others don't.I have no add on scenery, just some Payware planes and installed the patch as MS suggest without inserting a C.D. and it appears to have installed successfully.I checked out the list of bridges which were corrected and when I checked out that area on the program they were completed as reported by M.S.Checking the root directory of FS2004 the uninstall icon is there for the patch, and the notes relating to the patch are there.I can only assume with the bridges, completed, notes and unstall ICON in the root di…

Hi All,well I applied the patch, and all went well, no hicups etc, I did put my original files from the autogen etc back in, and I did have the new FSUIPC, however I did leave the no cd exe on the desktop, and it altered all the files during the install process of the patch,I am wondering however, has this in fact patched my fs, it does now say FS9.1, but I'm somewhat confused by all the other posts,!thanksSteve.

Hello to those who've installed the patch. Does it still request FS9 disk (Disk 4 if I'm correct) to run FS or they've fixed it? If it still does, post a new no-cd link pls. The previous exe would not work as designed.Thanks,Dirk.

i always swore by the 2D cockpits and never had much to do with the 3D virtual cockpits. couldn't understand what people saw and got so excited about UNTIL i watched a couple of cessna 172 videos todd put on the forum a couple of days ago. i could hardly believe what i saw. it was amazing! i got a much more realistic feel from watching them. i tried it out myself and it's a whole new experience! not that there's anything wrong with the 2D panel. i just get such a new realistic experience. you can also zoom in on the instruments to read them better. it just plain cool. haven't made my mind up yet though but everyone should try it once just to see what it's like. william

It will be nice to one day get past all this basic stuff like steering which shouldn't be a chore.Anyway, I have the CH pedals and while this has been a problem itwas really an issue when I tried to fly the Extra.I could not keep it straight on the runway. Even when I would right rudder to move right as it began to veer left on the takeoff run it seemed that sometimes it would continue left while at other times, even with what I thought was a little rudder it goes wide right. What gives with that and what do I need to know about rudder and steering???Thanks.Louis
