Just wandering what others think need to be allowed to be configurable in the next version of FS. In FS9 they add many items like ground lighting (probably thanks to Chris Willis) and what not and was just wondering what could still be configured. My thoughts are:Axis for Cowl flapsComm2 radio for assignmentsTransponder knob to have assignments engine alert and crew system knob to have assignmentsany others ideas?

FSAutostart is a useful program for closing down all unwanted extras prior to running FS9. It also runs a memory defragmentor. However, one thing I was wondering. Why does the memory shown as available when it's finished closing down applications and deframenting always seem to differ? Sometimes it's 370mb (of 512mb available). Sometimes it's 412mb and sometimes it's 350mb? I've gained from around 50mb up to over 100mb. Why is the final free memory figure never the same?

Hi.Can anyone recommend a high quality Beechcraft Bonanza (either freeware OR payware -- the latter is fine as long as it's good quality). I understand a company called Carenado has one, but I've also read a number of unpleasant things about their products and support.--Tony

Glasgow Airport appears to be the only main UK airport for which there is no addon scenery for FS9. Iain Gallacher has produced many excellent airport sceneries and Glasgow for FS2002 but this does not work too well in FS9.He has produced an excellent airport scenery(freeware) for Edinburgh for FS9. He says that he has no plans to produce one for Glasgow.Does anyone know of any other addon for Glasgow or is there anyone interested in producing one. Perhaps Gary Summons may be interested but it would of course have to be compatible with Scotflight scenerey. I am sure it would be welcomed.

We have had many discussions here regarding flight dynamics, lack of feel, control forces. There have been many who have defended the flight dynamics engine and its capability blaming lack of feel and control forces on the multitude of control hardware devices rather than a deficiency in the flight dynamics engine itself. It crossed my mind that maybe we are not seeing the wood for the trees in our thinking and that the fault lies cleanely with the flight dynamic engine itself and not hardware, springs etc.As you know at slow speed an aircraft requires a lot of control movement for a given reaction compared to high speed.Flair an aircraft at slow speed to land and approachi…

would like to hear what you real world pilots think about using virtual 3D cockpits instead of the 2D cockpits, gererally speaking ofcourse. i'm aware of the cockpit detail not being as good sometimes but i'm not to concerned about that. i posted something along these lines a week or so ago but now would like real pilots opinions. thanks! william

As some of you may or may not know, the FS9.1 patch installs the Macrovision C-Dilla copy-protection system to thwart unauthorized modification or distribution of the software. This is all well and good, except that when FS9 is closed it does not properly terminate it's Macrovision process and leaves the cd-rom drive in the protected state. FS9 hangs waiting for Macrovision Cleanup to complete, and it never does.Normally, the user would not notice this until time came to reboot, when they would be prompted to terminate a non-responding FS9.EXE.I play another game which uses a different copy-protection method, GTA Vice City (don't laugh...) which uses SecuROM 4. If I forge…

Have I missed something along the way or are the phases of the moon portrayed incorrectly in FS9? I don't normally fly at night so probably explains why I have not noticed this before :(I was out earlier this evening and the moon was/is full but in the sim it is only a half moon. Things are slightly better in FS2002 in that it is portrayed as a gibbous moon.BTW I'm surprised nobody has commented about Carmine D'Amore's tweaked Night Time fixes. They really do add another dimension to the experience of flying at night. So much more realistic and I recommend you all give them a try. The files are:'fs2004nt.zip' and 'fs2004nt1.01update.zip' - both are in the Avsim file libra…

Out of the blue I decided to visit Flightsimnetwork. I noticed Eaglesoft's getting pretty active in their CJ-1 posts--it looks like it is really coming along.Being a big fan of their C-II and Beechjet, especially in terms of their visuals and hand flying qualities, I encourage folks interested in the bizjet genre to visit the screenshots forum over at flightsimnetwork. You don't have to look very hard to see some very beautiful CJ-1 repaints from a group that's always been top notch and very interested in soliciting our community for new product ideas.I hope one day they surprise us with a Lancair IV-P :) Nope--it's not a bizjet but it gets there almost as fast....-Joh…

ISPs log the IP addresses assigned through DHCP to users with a timestamp. Therefore the user logged in using the IP address in question can always be traced back to the correct computer if it comes to proof for a court case.No mechanism will rely solely on IP address information. Most that use the data will merely check if an account isn't being accessed by IP addresses assigned to different geographic regions (for example Europe and Australia) in impossibly short times (say someone uses the account from Europe at 12:04 GMT and subsequently from Australia at 12:10 GMT the same day, this clearly indicates several people using the same account nearly simultaneously). Can it c…

Can someone explain how to do a LOC/DME approach? What numbers I have to enter and where do I enter them? It's wierd but but in FS2004 I never done a LOC/DME approach before.

Fellow Avsimmers :)I dont like flying the old & modern light planes in FS2004 (Jenny, Staggerwing, Skyhawk, Mooney, Vimy, DC3, etc)I'd like to trim down the airplane list since I only fly the big fanjet airliners and the regional jets/turboprops.Will manually deleting all the stock airplanes I dont want cause FS9 to roll over, stick its landing gear in the air & croak? Or is it safe to wipe 'em?Thank u :)---------------------------------PS: Byrna & JSACKS I'll have the tests on the stock 747 done today and post my results to the original thread I started ok! (This is regarding the Posky 747-400 crusing with exessive nose-up attitude; Im testing to see if the s…

Can anyone tell me the reason I might be having this little problem. When ever I fly the Centurion and have my throttle in idle the engine shuts down. I have pulled my throttle to idle right before landing and had the engine quit. Not bad because the landing was easily made but I had to restart the engine to get off the runway. Also happens while sitting on the ramp. Happens with two different joysticks. I have not updated to FS9 on my laptop but have on my desktop computer. Happens on both machines. Thanks for any help
