Hello,I couldn't decide between USA Roads and AD Roads (rails, streams, etc.), so I ended up getting AD since I don't actually fly VFR that much anyway. (why spend $30 for something you rarely pay attention to?)However, now that I have them I do enjoy having them around, and may someday decide to get USA Roads as well, not so much for the accuracy, but for the nicer-looking textures. However, one downside to both products is that the roads are drawn over the scenery textures, so with all roads turned on, it makes densely populated areas look like there's a net over the city or something. On the other hand, with only major roads turned on, you miss a lot in the rural areas…

Hello friends :)Im about to throw money at the PMDG NG737 add-on and I just wanted to ask you all if it had wing-views?By that I mean that view where you can look back from the cockpit and see the leading edge of the wing and the engines (like in the Posky, Meljet & iFDG planes)But for that to happen there would have to be an option to turn off the 2D bitmaps of the cockpit and also turn off the VC.Can you do these things in the PMDG add-on?Thank you!

I have just bought the T37 tweetie. I have found out that even if I set the throttle to cutoff the plane moves slightly even when the parking brake is applied. If I release the brake the plane accelerates fairly much at idle power. Is this normal? If not what could be wrong.I use CH Flightsim Yoke and I have calibrated the throttle. I have used the new feature of FSUIPC which let me have a reverse range and idle range by mapping to four throttles. I also have FS9.

Flight simulation is just that----simulating flight---you buy the software title, install it, run it, and simulate flight-----or is it? What if the software ***far outstrips*** the ***capability*** of the hardware it is installed upon to render it due service? Such is the case with MS FS9. Even though I had in my previous system a computer that could run (to a modest degree, features throttled back) the program, I knew that I was not satisfied in the longest reach of that term, what I saw on the screen, ---how the aircraft was rendered in motion versus the real world. I put up with it because that was all there

Hello Avsim friends :)Would anyone on here know of a detailed website that listed the aircraft-types of *major* airlines in the world? Im asking because of some difficulty Im facing (and other FS9 newbies might agree on this).I like adding heavy jets to my FS9 like Posky, iFDG, Meljet etc. Like all of you I strive to make them as real as possible and to this end sound is very important to me. I have downloaded all the soundsets for different engine makes on the 747-400, 777, A330 etc.And this is where Im having a little difficulty. Because I need to know what make of engine an airline uses so I can use the correct soundset. The Rolls Royce-engined 747s are no problem beca…

On Flightsim they have textures available to download for the new SGA DC-9. The readme files say you need the base model, but I can not find the base model anywhere. Has the SGA DC-9 really been released? Where can I find the base model? Or is it that maybe the painters jumped the gun and released the textures to early?

Dear all,I use fs9.1 with a saitekx45 (joystick+throttle and analog rudder's buttons)I know it might seen obvious at first but what are the most realistic 'realism settings' for medium/small prop aircrafts and jet fighter aircrafts?at the aeroworx forum they suggested the first slider 100% and all the others 50% for their b200.I of course tried turning all the sliders up to 100% but it makes all the aircrafts very nervous, difficult to trim and unrealistic at takeoff and landing. My only real pilot experience has been with a robin dr400 doing takeoff and landings under medium winds and rain. well I had to trim it once maybe twice a flight. Also at takeoff despite its sing…

Hi all,Sorry if this is a double post but the first did not appear after hitting the 'Post message' button.Any Scottish members? If so, have you come across what I have dubbed 'fantasy island'?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96119.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96120.jpgAs you can see it appears to be a body of land situated a few miles due east of the Forth Estuary. It even comes populated with autogen!I have recently installed Scotflight Scenery ver.2.0c but I am pretty sure that it is not the cause. Disabling either Scotflight or ScotflightLandClass has no effect - the island persists.Just wondering whether others have noted this anomaly and worked out the sp…

Allen Kriesman has just released an "Enhancement Package" that lets you turn off roads when they cross water (as in Markus Brunner's new AD Roads). Description and download here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_post...p?TID=9088&PN=1This is EXCELLENT news. I'm wondering, though, if there's a trick to making it work. I ran the 1Mb download, set up "No roads on water" in the USA Roads Configuration program, and let it rebuild the scenery. No error messages, but when I fired up the simulator, the roads were still visible on the water. (Have checked San Francisco Bay Area and Pamlico River in N. Carolina so far.)

Hi,Thqnks very much for your recent Clouds release. Since I began using fs.09, I did'nt bother to change them so I thought I'd give yours a shot. What a beautiful difference! I used real weather download and flew around the island of Porto Plata in the Dominican Replubic and it was just fantastic. I have hardly no stuttering at all now. My flight was so good, I forgot to get gas as I flew around for about 3 hours in my little cessna. Thanks again, S.:-)

Hi all, I installed Alex Kratz 737-200 and 300 series panel the way the directions told me to install the panel but for some reason, I cant see the switches for lights on the top of the panel and some other gauges as well. The panel was working fine a couple weeks ago. I reinstalled all the gauges and over wrote the files, but still no luck. Any help?Thanks,BillFiles:panel_b737-200_fs2004.zippanel_b737-400_fs2004.ziphttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96239.jpg

Hello, not long to christmas now, already made a list of new addons and hardware I'm looking from santa but I'll probly end up with socks like last year.Any way was driving into work this morning, in auto pilot down the motorway as you do thinking how to improve FS. A question came to mind.Is there a way to autosave flights while your flying. For example your 20 minutes to land after a 2hr flight and you for what ever reason forgot to save during the flight manually. A add on utility may be available. Any now who nows anything drop me a comment.Oh and by the way I was just wondering how many people out there fly long haul and whats the longest known stop flight you've…

Hey guys and gals,Just a quick question, I am looking to buy or download a programme which will enable me to become more involved with ATC ie having to read back instructions verbally instead of pressing keys etc and which also offers set SID and STAR options, diversions and declared emergencies. Although I have heard of Vatsim (but know very little) are there any programmes where you can interact with software rather than people on-line? What is the Voice buddy package like?Cheers:-beerchug

This allows roads over water to be turned off and muted road textures.

Hey guys, I finally gave up on my old joystick and find it to be unrealistic(atleast in my eyes) and I was thinking of up grading to a yoke unit. I was just wondering if any of you guys know of a good yoke or companies that sell them, to use on the pc. I'm trying not to spend $1000, looking for something reasonably priced. I'm pretty shady in this area so I thought I'd get some advice from other people who own them.Thanks,-Steve

Hi,Just purchased the ATR72-500 and tool a spin. Needless to say, it is a great aircraft. Now ready to get down to the serious stuff. Anyone know where the manual is for this aircraft? I looked at the installation directry, and couldn't find it.

Ok, it's not severe, but rather annoying.I have FS2002, with two scenery packs for the south of Britain, and British Airports (south east).Lately I have been adding a few aircraft, and decided to start delving into other addons. I found something in the library here, and downloaded it. the file name is 'maxedout.zip' and has several txt files, and 'AFInstaller.exe'. The text files were airport codes (for Britain) and you opened the exe and then dragged the txt files into the program. This then installed the 'overlays' into FS2002.Now for the problem. Heathrow is now about 6 times in the list, and the other airports are appearing multiple times. Now I wanna rip these…
