  1. Come into 34L right NOW! This was just posted. You are going to have the approach of your virtual life!I just landed in an ATR. What a rush!I had the runway in sight JUST at the strobes! Even A.I. were declaring missed approaches!Fire up FS9 right now and give it a try....You need ACTIVE SKY 2004.5 for the same weather visuals...Cheers!Mitch R.

The guys at SGA just released a set of fixes for the entire DC-9/MDXX series of planes. I updated everything, and my DC-9's and MD8x series planes are now showing random 'spoiler extended' warnings on the panel (I'm using the latest one from Paul Golding/Leon Seale on the older birds).Any idea what they might have done in the .cfg or .air file that would cause the panel to false like that?Scott

Wilco did another Airbus (A320) claiming to be the most realistic Airbus for FS ever. I am not Airbus fan/expert so I leave it to others to comment on that claim. The problem with buses is that they are all alike so whether it is A320 or A330 - few probably care.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

For a fascinating and exhaustive discussion of the pros and cons of printed manuals, there is another ATR thread...I spent several hours with this. Visuals are outstanding, as one would expect. Virtual cockpit and even the cabin are amazing. I have never been a fan of VCs -- let alone virtual cabins -- but I was very impressed. I look forward to many happy hours opening and closing the toilet lid in the head! My system stutters and pauses when I shift to the VC, but I have everything maxed out (you can config the level of detail). Framerates were good.Hand-flying is a joy. Rotation, climb, approach, landing... all seem exceptionally stable and easy to fly. Again, I …

Has anyone tried the HBYCT by Olivier Marechal? I have some questions and comments but can't contact Olivier. His website is in French with no English translation that I could find. The plane is a real beauty. His animations and details are GREAT too. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I want to give a relative who lives on a sailboat a flight sim rig for Xmas. For space reasons, a laptop would be the only way to go. Will FS run OK on a laptop? Would FS2K2 be the way to go? He will never be a hard core simmer and I would imagine FS9 might be too much for a laptop. Thanks

  9. After 7 years of flying without ANY charts at all, but using FSNav and various FMCs, I think I finally need some Jeppesen charts or Approach plates. When I select a SID or STAR for PMDG NG, I don't even know what I am doing although somehow I muddle through the process. Can anybody suggest a good set of charts on CD-ROM I can just view and not print (I have too much paper in this house!). I just saw this stuff. Is it any good for FS2004?http://www.simflight.com/modules.php?name=...rticle&sid=5057Appreciate any posts, advice, etc. Thanks!JS

I posted this question on another thread but apparently it is lost in another discussion. Has anyone else noticed that loud hum that is always present in the cockpit, and seems to pretty much drown out the noise of the engines? Is that some sort of recirculation fan? I have tried switching various things on and off ( Kinkos will have my printed manual ready tomorrow, so maybe there will be a clue in there as to what to switch off) but I can't seem to kill the sound at present. Any suggestion's.

Hi all!Thought I will drop my two cents about online flying and weather add-ons. As for myself, I use AS2004 and it I think it's a great piece of app that has come a lot of way since the original to add to my flying experience. I also try to fly online because it adds a further dimension to flightsim but the issue of weather add-ons is getting complicated...IVAO has just released their beta-version of their new pilot's client which now depicts its own weather. It's crude, as most initial releases are and I somehow feel that it is a step back compared to any of the established ones, including AS2004, FSMeteo and so on...Now, it's all policy from the online networks that go…

In the default aircraft of MSFS2002 they seem to handle very realistic. In a downloaded 772 MelJet I found at 170 kts which is rotation speed the response was very inaccurate (a/c didn't leave ground until 210 kts AIS!!!!).Does anyone know how I can get the settings for an accurate flight dynamic model so it handles realistically and then how do I do this in FS2002? (I remember that ProMax aircraft in FS2000 were so inaccurate (handling) I was very disappointed in them. They had beautiful model work done on them so many thanks to the authors for this)Do I have to copy a file or something? (a guy without a clue)I do have an idea on how aircraft handle because I have flown …

I just got FS2002, it was given to me by an elderly neighbour who didn't want it anymore. It came with British Airports Volume 1, and a couple of scenery packs for the central south and east of england. At first I just thought that this would be another game to just mess about on, but it's turned serious! I have really gotten into it, and discovered my favourite aircraft is a 737-300/400/500.I thought it was hilarious when I discovered the autopilot on these planes, started to doubt my need for the joystick I bought, lol.I then discovered that damn, landings are HARD! Seriously hard. I went back to the cessnas to practice straightening up it was that bad. Never got an…

Wow-got it today. I waited an awful long time-but it was worth it.The ability to configure (I needed to do the Baron arrangment), very sturdy-and even little detents for feathering.Things came apparent I had never know about fs tonight. I shutoff and disabled an engine-then watched the blade feather as I hit the feather detent in the prop controller-never new I could do this when using a conventional setup.A huge addition to reality. I had a little trouble getting them setup and can't get the ch manager to install-but xp seems to work with them fine. A registered version of fuispc helps the joystick respond like butter.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.j…

I spend most of my time either flying DC-3s, GA or fast jets. I don't often get to play with the heavies, but this week I thought I would flash a few of my favourites up to remind myself how to fly the things ... or try to fly the things. With a number of aircraft .... whether MELJET, POSKY or my favourite Tristars ... I find that when in range, flying at, say, 2 or 3,000 feet setting up for final at 250KIAS, my aircraft sits right back and will not fly level. If speed is increased, over FAA maximum for that altitude, they'll level out. But otherwise, I always seem to be flying with a horrible nose up attitude. I know that with some jets this is as designed when on fin…

Just curious if there is any method to rotate the Ansari jetways to be aligned with the slewed aircraft longitudinal axis, other than having to amend the xml file heading?FSE does this rather nicely by hitting the NumPad keys 1 & 3. I would far prefer to use the Ansari jetways, but correct positioning is somewhat a pain. ThanksChris

I am just curious if there are any seasoned real world chopper pilots who can vouch for or against the flight models provided for the default Bell and Robinson in FS9. I have no trouble with the Robinson, but I have always had a heckuva time maintaining any kind of lateral stability in the Bell. Just curious if the Bell is this difficult to tame in real life.J

It was a very sad day when Concorde made her last flight as that aircraft apart from being such a beautiful and graceful sight in the skies represented such a pioneering part of the era that she was created in.Even today nothing touches this aircraft in its capability and the way it fires the imagination.I am delighted that PSS appear to be creating such an advanced model for FS9 with so many features. Our imagination can continue not in the real skies but in our virtual skies.Peter

Hi All:I purchased the Flight1 Cessna 421 turbo prop earlier this year and installed it on both Fs2002 & Fs2004.I have just recently started using FS2004 and when I check the TCAS screen the word FAILED in yellow letters fills the centre of the screen. When using it with FS2002 prior to uninstalling FS2002 the TCAS worked with no problem. Can someone tell me if the problem is related to something I have missed.Everything else about the plane works as advertised. Thanks for any assistance.Kenny G.
