Hello all, I recently installed Windows XP on my hard drive, and I've noticed a HUGE improvement on my system's performance (as opposed to that with Windows ME). As a result, I'm feeling a little more brave about what I add onto my computer. I do have a question though: is the scenery for Miami actually better on frames than the default Miami scenery? I had heard that this was the case for FlyTampa's San Fransisco scenery, and I'm quite interested in the Miami scenery. Any info from current users of the product would be appreciated. My system (this may be a factor in your opinions) is a P4 1.5Ghz, 128MB Radeon 9200, 767MB SDRAM. Thanks for reading,George

Finally a Lear35 for FS09. It can be found here at AVSIM (lear_usaf_c-21a.zip). The flight dynamics did require some massaging before I could get it to perform to my expectations. My wish is that someone will try some repaints as I don't have the expertise.

hi - previously i've been able to fix this problem by deleting fs9.cfg, but this time around i'm getting nowhere fast so i hope someone here can help me.Using fs9.1 with Active Sky 4.5, pmdg 737ng, active camera, pss a340 and ati radeon 9700pro, 1gb ram, 160gb hdd.Problem i've got is that although my desktop resolution is set to 1368x768 i cannot get fs9 to display this resolution in the hardware resolution selection box - the highest resolution it displays there is 1024x768! Like I said i've tried to fix it by removing fs9.cfg and restarting but to no avail. i'm using radeon driver version 6.14.10.6483 which is the latest one as far as i know and directx 9c or whatever t…

There used to be a website where you could get help on all kinds of things with Flight Simulator. I think it was called a university or a college. There were also some forums on the site as well as walkthroughs. Anyone have a link for this? I posted this question last week and nobody replied. Can someone PLEASE help me or point me in the right direction. I have a very big problem with FS9. None of the option sliders work for any option i.e. Display, Traffic, Realism etc. They are all whited or greyed out and I cannot slide them. This is causing some problems getting some of the scenery to work correctly.I have tried uninstalling it and then re-installing it. Re-installing DirectX and loading the current ATI display drivers and nothing works. Can anyone help or tell me who to call or where to go to maybe get this resolved?I would greatly appreciate it. I have several products I am currently reviewing …

My question is exactly that. I tried using SB the other day for FS2004, and when I brought up the facilities list, there were no facilities listed as being online, however, the VATSIM server showed there were many controllers up and running. So, where do I need to get my Squawkbox software, and what do I need? Thanks,Tim

  14. It all began in September at about the same time as AFG released their wonderful Pilatus PC-12. I succeeded in flying this aircraft without any mishap only once. Then things started to go wrong. It was at about the same time that I installed Microsofts SP2 upgrade and shortly afterwards Microsofts upgrade for FS9 arrived on the scene. I had also just upgraded the driver for my Nvidia Geforce4 card, so there where immediately many suspects. At first this was the only aircraft which seemed to cause the windows crash, and no matter what I tried it didn't solved the problem. And believe me, if you search the FS forums there are many suggestions. To cut a long story short and a…

Earlier I posted that some new drivers had been released. If anything relates to Flight Simulator it's the graphic setup and drivers on a personal computer. After all, we're not flying real planes here. Yet almost immediately it was removed. Why? Do I have to browse every forum to get an answer or ask a question? I find it very annoying that if something relates to the performance of flight simulator yet is just slightly on a specific topic it gets removed. I find the topic very much relates to the way my computer or video card performs within flight simulator. Can someone please explain this to me, or is it just an eager opportunity to "crack" a whip of power?I'm a new me…

  16. I'd like to be guided to my destination airport with the correct height instructions; something the default FS9 ATC doesn't offer as I frequently arrive way too high to land. I'm therefore wondering if there is a simple add-on that would serve this purpose. Anybody know of one worth trying?Cliff

  19. Hello all :)I am surprised to see that you cannot click on the the panel- mounted clocks in FS9 airplanes to change the time http://www.computerpannen.com/cwm/kao/otn/pcrying.gifI remember you could easily scroll the hours & minutes up and down in FS2000. It seems that all FS9 allows is to reset the seconds to zero and thats it :(I verified this by loading up all the default planes in FS9 that have panel-mounted clocks, the Mooney Bravo, Cessna Skyhawk etc.I ask because Im tired of always having to interrupt the simulation by having to go to the [World-->Time and Season] menu to change the time (specially by a small amount - for example when you just want dawn to b…

As we all know the average age of the civil flight simmers is way higher than for all those fps/rts/rpg genres. There is not many Quake kiddies that finds their way over here.Perhaps only beaten in average age by the railroad simulators :)I also suspect there is many here who solely plays FS 200X and never other games. I think these people may really miss something. You have people who buy very high end computers yet they don

  21. I am using Bill Melchar's great Honolulu scenery. I would like to eventually get Lago's VMAX version, but I am really strapped for cash for now and the future.I know you can turn off the parking and vehicles by adjusting scenery density down, but does anyone know of any otherways to make it a bit more friendly in as far as frame rates go? Approaches on Rwy 4 right is fine, but an approach on 8L or takeoff on 8L really kills the frame rates. If that is not possible, does anyone know of a freeware GMAX scenery of the area? I really do want to get Lago Honolulu at some point, but I wish they had a time limited demo so I could see the effect of the scenery on my machine. …

Ok, i've been flying this sim for about 2 months, and i can take off and land a BAE146-200. The problem is, is when I taxi to the gates and stop at a gate. Is there anything else to do then? Can I open the door and hook up to the gate? or do I just stay there. I would think that you could refuel at the gate and then take off again from there.Any ideas?Dupo

I have FSGenesis USA installed. My video card is: RADEON 9200 SERIES All other scenery displays (so far) do not show this effect. Help appreciated.
