Hi guys,a question this time. How do you correctly hand-fly a DME arc?I have them in the GNS 530 and while I usually hand-fly all the approaches I use to hit the NAV button and slave the AP to the GPS when they come up as I really don't know the correct procedure to do this.Anyone kwith enough knowledge to help me out here? I am interested in the correct RW procedure only.Thx a lot.Alex

I read somewhere recently that if you move all your add on aircraft out of your aircraft folder and put them into a different folder you can then load only the ones you want to use into the original aircraft folder. Apparently this speeds up the sim. Has anyone tried this out? If so, did it work?Kev

I have an aircraft (jet to be exact) that is a little too sensitive when hitting turbulence. Does anyone know the setting in the aircraft.cfg file and/or '.air' file that I can adjust that would make the aircraft more stable in turbulence??? As things are now, moderate turbulence almost causes my jet to flip upside down... :-hmmm

Hello.,Is this at all possible? I recall a similar request being made a while ago, and someone whom i believe works for MS, and is a regular visitor to this forum, said that this would be OK. Unfortunately this was never followed up, as far as i know.I am sure i could write a reasonable add-on (with the help of a couple of friends!), to change the current lightweight joystick forces into something much heavier and, hence, more REALISTIC for flying heavies and medium range jets.PLEASE HELP!RegardsDan

and extra content. These are my ideas.Primarily, an ATC feature that will satisfy hard core simmers who wish to do virtual flying. Rather than having to install an extreme variety of programs just to get it working. The 737 sounds haven't been worked on for years it seems and that is all theu use for all their heavy aircraft. How about going for a couple of cockpit rides and getting some more realistic glass cockpit sounds (less engine and more wind/air con noise). The cockpit contrasts the back of the cabin where there is virtually no engine noise. The back of the cabin has very loud engine noise. US passenger FS enthusiasts (who never had a chance to go to the cockpit in-f…

Microsoft it would be great if you add a tool in the next version of Flight Simulator that would make it easier to remove aircraft that one is no longer using. Some may say why but what I find is the most aggravating issue is having hundreds of gauges that no aircraft is no longer using (makes for a very large gauge folder after awhile). There have been tools made but they all seem to have problems. We need a way to remove aircraft as well as the gauges associated with the aircraft

Gents, I made an approach to 28L at KPDX in foggy conditions in my PMDG 737-900 this am and all was going well until I broke out of the clouds and saw that despite my gs and loc bars being dead center I was lined up on the taxiway to the right of the runway. Has anyone else seen this and if so is there a correction for it. I am using FSGenesis' terrainmesh and that is all. I have a clean copy of FS2004 with the 9.1 update. Ken

Hi people, how are we all doing today?Right now please lets not get this topic locked its just a simple question. Just bought the new 737 VCe from Ariane and i love it, but I was just wondering how to get the navdata to work for the FMC as each time i try to input an airport code it says NOT IN DATABASE. For those of you who have it I have read the manuals and aligned the IRS correctly, its got me stumped now. Do I need to download the Navdata separately or not because I have a file, navdata folder, with the navdata file in my Ariane folder in the FS9 Root file but dont know if there is another one to download for it?Any help would be appreciated Thanks for your helpRi…

I am using the dhauzimmer driver which works perfectly with Falcon 4, but in FS2002 I can't assign anything. Do I have to use a profile maybe? If yes, does anybody have a descent Dhauzimmer-profile for FS2002? I tried using the default FS2002 profile which comes with the SST-software but then my throttle always was at 100% and the plane was impossible to fly. Maybe it has something to do with that I didn't uninstall the dhauzimmer driver. I just switched USB port. The point is that I like the Dhauzimmer driver best as it loads the profile when you load the sim and then clears it when you exit it. But I would also appreciate a great SST profile for FS2002 as I might want t…

Hi...I was a beta tester on the, just released, FS2Crew supplement for the PMDG 737 800 and 900 series. When the testing was wrapping up, Bryan sent us a questionaire and one of the questions asked how FS2Crew compaired to FS Hotseat and Flight Deck Companion. Since I don't own either one of those programs I couldn'a answer that question.So....how DOES FS2Crew compare to FS Hotseat or Flight Deck Companion???Thoughts? Thanks for your time....

This message is also posted in the scenery forum.I have a problem in the Revelstoke area (I have the BC FSGenesis mesh)Revelstoke airport is surrounded by "icebergs". I can find the airport only with the help of GSP as the runway is hidden between walls of ice.Is there a fix for this problem?RogerP.S. The Columbia river in BC is also very icy more than it is expected at this season.

OK, some brief surfing at the cockpit screen shots at airliners.net gave me quite a surprise. I've downloaded a bunch of panels to try out with the SGA new models, including Paul Golding's newest update. I was confused that every MD-series plane on airliners.net had a panel that looked like this one:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96858.jpgAnd a quick look at the DC-9's showed the planes had panels remarkably similar to his new update:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96859.jpgAm I correct using the top one for all my 82 through 90 series, and then the bottom one for the DC-9's? I just want to get things a close to 'real' as possible.Scott

Ive ran a search and i cant seem to find the answerI've installed the sounds for the king air, and C208 about 4 times each, and whenever i go into FS and start a flight with pone of these aircraft, FS crashes, and its only when i'm using these sounds.I've changed the sounds back to default, and tried the aircraft again, and had no problems, but when changing back to the new sounds, FS crashes again...I cant seem to figure out what the problem is, and i seem to be the only person with this problem...Does anyone have any ideas?

A plea to scenery developers. It would be very helpful if scenery developers would adopt a convention for naming their *.bgl files. In particular, two sorts of files need simple identification: Airport Facility (AFCAD) files and Landclass/Waterclass files.Might it be possible for scenery developers to name the files by a convention as simple as:For Airport Facility definitions (using AFCAD 2.xx):AF2_*.bgl or, better, AF2_ICAO_Developer Name.bgl (where "ICAO" is the ICAO code for the airport and "Developer Name" is the developer's name). And for Landclass and Waterclass files:LC_*.bglWC_*.bglor, better, LC_ICAO_Developer Name.bgl (where "ICAO" is the ICAO code for the air…
