HiI was so looking forward to this release and installed it; worked once then corrupted all my flightsim files to the extent that I now cannot see any 2D cockpits and when I install a saved flight FS2004 cannot find the aircraft.I am dissapointed and now reinstalling FS2004 from the beginning. I believe it may be something to do with the way it runs FS2004 from the install programme so I am going to install the textures manually and see if that helps.John

Hi guys...I know this topic has been covered before. But now that I am seriously considering about it, I still would like to ask for some opinions of the current users.I am not big on mesh at all. I buy addon aircrafts like crazy and fly them over defaul terrian...thinking it already looks good enough. But Fsglobal looks like a very nice step up from what FS9 has to offer. I know there are better mesh out there. But this one covers the whole world for $50.00.Are the visual changes significant? Performance hit, anyone?Oh, and also, anyone is using it with Myworld2004 landclass? Is that a winner's combination or not?My system: AMD 2400+, 768MB, Gforce 5900. Thank you …

I just picked up a great panel for the freeware bp_md81_final.zip airplane available here. the panel is aamd82vc.zip but unfortunately I can't get the gauges to display correctly in the VC. Hopefully somebody can help!Thanks

Hi all -I'd like to add an MD80 the my collection of MSFS airliners, preferably for FS2002. I see that there are a number of MD80s and panels available, and I'm looking for opinions as to what combination of aircraft and panel y'all are happy with. Most important to me are a panel that works looks and works like the real one and a convincing flight model. Exterior modeling is secondary to me as I cannot see it anyway while flying.The original Paul Golding panel for FS2002 looked like a winner but it looks like the updated versions for FS2002 and FS9 have substituted the default Concorde autopilot controls for the original and this looks a bit hokey to me, unless there'…

Hello,Just purchased Flight1's 172R airplane. I have a couple of questions:1) My in game performance took a serious hit with this airplane. Looking left and right causes a noticable delay that I didn't see before with the stock 172. What performance setting should I reduce to make this go away? My system is fairly robust (P4 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, Radeon 9800 Pro).2) With the Flight1 model I have a hard time seeing anything when I look out of the windows. This may be more realistic but it causes great difficulty when landing. Is there a way to make the plane frame disappear, or transparent or something?Thanks,Paul

I'm currently making some flight files, and want to move them into the main flights folder, but FS2004 can't find the associated pln files. It only seems to look in 'my documents'. However, the default flights don't have that problem. (I did look through the flt files, but seem to do everything correctly).Anyone knows what I'm missing?Cheers, Christian

I am using W98se and have a succesfull installation. However, when I try to start the program I get a warning that the Windows path cannot be found. It seems as though the program is searching My Documents file for the path. I simply put it in my C drive. Any ideas?The help in the manual is limited.

I have Imagine Software's KDEN (which is awesome by the way) and many Simflyer's Intl. airport sceneries. I have the weirdest problem with KDEN and KLAX. Everytime I'm flying toward these airports my sim has to pause for about 30 seconds just to load the airport scenery in order for me to fly over it... I haven't seen this kind of behavior before. I'm talking a complete stand still in the air and what's really strange is may Hard Drive is not chugging away loading the scenery. You would normally see this kind of thing when scenery is loading.Does anyone know why this is a problem with just these two airports??? I haven't really tested all my other add-on's as of lat…

I noticed that, once I set the weather to "Real World (Updated), FS2k4 pauses for 30-45 seconds whenever I make a selection in the setup screens. Another 45-60 second pause to start loading up the scenario, but once into the cockpit all is fine.I couldn't find any posts with a solution. Is this common, or should I take my computer out back and shoot it?ThanksMatt

I'd been frustrated recently by poor framerates and stuttering. I should say that, for me, poor framerates = fewer than 10 fps. I went over in my head the changes I had made over the summer, and decided to change TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL from 20 (38m) back to 19 (= 76m) in fs9.cfg. Sure enough, the mountains got more rounded (I've been flying in Holger Sandmann's Northern Cascades area) and the sim got noticeably more fluid. Still, I'm reluctant to let go of those well defined mountains. So what can I cut back on to get back up to 12 fps (which for me is quite workable)? Hi everyone. I do not know what I am doing wrong but I cannot get ATC to recognise any FFX 737. I have changed the aircraft.cfg to standard FS2004 settings and still it comes in as experimental. I have checked the.air files and this is correct. So what on earth do I do to get ATC to recognise the plane?ThanksJohn

It's not often that I drool on my keyboard, but FSW's newest creation for the community has left me stunned. This is no quickly assembled package... everything about it shows great attention to detail and a wonderful effort at "trying to cover all the possibilties". After a quick couple of flights and testing just a handful of the many options in FS Sky World 2004 let this simple fact stand...Anybody who enjoys this sim must have this addon.Thanks Chris for such an incredible amount of effort and thought on our behalf. Today is not April Fools Day by chance? When I signed on and saw that FS SKY WORLD 2004 was released, I went to FSW's web page and clicked the download area and I was sent to the AVSIM Library. So I clicked the WHATS NEW button, and searched and searched and .... well u get it! NO FS SKY WORLD 2004!!!!Is this a TEASE? Thats like saying that LEVEL D SIM released the NEW 767. OMG - CALL THE MEDICS, ANOTHER FS9 HEART ATTACK!!!So AVSIM - gonna put it on the download site anytime soon? Or, do I need to see my eye doctor? BumpHello everyone, I am having a problem, everytime that I open the kneeboard and go to the check list ,references, radio, breifing, navigation log, and I just click on any of those windows FS9 crashes. It tells me that will include 3 files in the error report: fs9.CFG.txt dxdiag.xml scenery.cfg I did alredy install Mark's latest kneeboard. I have no problems with the key command (A).I hope that you can help me fix this problem. Thank youHector

I had to reinstall fs9 and lost all of my good stuff.I had down loaded a file that changed the way the major roads looked at night. All the major hiways showed up really well in this new night lights. Can't find or remember the file name. Any Help????

Hi Guys,I am using a P4 2.2 w/400FSB and 1 gig RAM and a Radeon 9600.I am running FS2004 w/ the PMDG NG and Phoenix planes.I like to have all the AI traffic and as much visual realisim as I can get away with.As a result my frames go low in more areas than I would like.Can anyone tell me how much of a performance boost I would get with a P4 3.2 / 800FSB system? Or would it be better to wait for more powerful systems?Thanks,Astro
