I am curious to know if there are any good landclasses for Alaska, particularly the Kenai Peninsula/Cook Inlet region. I have been searching and it appears that there are several Payware titles that supposedly include Alaska in them, but I would like to have feedback. Perhaps even screenshots of the Kenai, Nikiski, Soldotna area to see how much they match reality.----------------------------------------------------------------John S. In recent days, my PC has started to seize up (freeze initially and then slow down massively, or crash FS9 and then corrupt the current Windows XP session) during flights and replays with the PMDG 737 NG loaded. That a/c uses between 550MB and 710MB of RAM on my DELL P4, 2.53Ghz, RDRAM 1024. Normally FS9 uses 250-300MB on my machine and runs beautifully and fluidly.I think a lot of the additional RAM usage goes to process textures in the VC (quite a killer on frames)and cockpit gauge processing and display, and frequent switching of views using this a/c seems to have an adverse impact.Anyway, I found an article by Microsoft, article ID 308417, July 14, 2004, Revision 3.…

Guys, has anybody managed to assign a TQ Axis to control Spoilers in FS9 properly? Whatever axis/joystick I'm trying to assign for the Spoilers Axis in FS9 the spoilers lever in the sim always jumps around and does not coordinate with the Throttle Quadrant lever movement. I tried to muddle with FSUIPC and Joystick Sensitivity without success. Any ideas?Thanks.

Recently the FS9 ATC has begun using European phraseology. How do I get the program to revert to American phraseology. Where is such preference set? (eg ATC calls "Center" "Control" even in US and Canadian airspace)

As I "progress" in my flight lessons I am more and more finding flight sim to be considerably more difficult than the real thing.I don't mean to be making a presumptuous statement. This is just an observation. Where I used to repeat the flight lessons in MSFS ad nauseaum, I do each lesson a few times until I understand what I am supposed to do and then move on which gives me more of a broad approach as the control in real airplanes is for me far more responsive and finer.Plus, with my real life instructor I don't have to endure Machado's pathetic attempts at humor which at best are embarrassing and at worst clog up the flow of the material.Wonder if any of you who fly the…

Anybody that has the new KDEN airport have any observations? I would love to have Denver for an airport but I have really been spoiled by the Fly Tampa products that I am a little unsure. I cant believe the framerates on KSFO that I get even with detailed add on aircraft.Thanks for any info.

Hi Guys,my around the World trip in an aspirated Cessna C310 led me through Peru recently. The most amazing flights I have ever done. The scenery is absolutely terrific. Montains, long slopes that make you think you will never gain AGL, beautiful cities high up in the Mountains. I post this as I think Peru is often overlooked as place worth to fly.Take an aspirated plane. That makes it more interetsing. When I fly online I mostly fly in Europe and from looking at servinfo I see that there is almost always more people flying on IVAO than on Vatsim. Now I always fly on Vatsim, but I was wondering what your experience is with IVAO. Are the controllers as good, and as "real" as on Vatsim?

I run FS9 since day 1 with a lot of add-ons, and I expereinced almost no CTD. Until Friday last week. FS9 is patched to ver. 9.1, and suddenly FS9 was unable to run anymore, the loading always resulted in a CTD somewhere at the 'loading terrain' stage.I did myself a favor and re-installed the whole machine (XP, FS) - there was already a nice mess especially with FS (though I guess there can never be a 'clean' FS installation if you use add-ons).After having FS9 and some add-ons installed 'cleanly', I tested - and ended in the CTD again.After re-installing FS9 another two times, I narrowed down the problem to the scenery.cfg file.Don't know if any seasonal crashes as in th…

Hi, Believe that generally FS9 loads the C172 on an error or Crash... 80% of the time I like to fly the Kingair 350, and was wondering if there is a config file where the aircraft loaded can be changed. Ive checked my FS9.cfg, and didnt see it there. Does anyone know where it is? Bob

Hiya,I just installed windows XP professional edition and and FS9, when I go to run FS I get an error saying that it cannot find CD4, even though it's in the drive! It ran fine on my old system, and everything on my new one is working. Can anyone help?Cheers

I have been having lockups and kicked to desktop. It was so bad I totally reinstalled FS9. It will sit for a bit then kick me out. Never had this problem before. I did have the FS9 update then when i reinstalled I didnt put it in. Dont have the WinXP sp2. I have never had this problem before, I run ad ware and virus scan all the time. No problems with them before. Start with the default flight. Hi,I'm currently running FS2002 on a high end computer. I've held off upgrading to FS9 because of the PIC767. I also fly Flight 1's Piper Meridian and Cessna 421C.With the impending release of PIC767 for FS9, I'm going to upgrade to FS9 now. So my question is this:Should I install the the FS 9.1 upgrade as well? I'm currently running WIndows XP Home SP1. I have avoided upgrading to SP2 because I'm not looking for trouble for my computer is perfectly stable. Based on what I've read in some of the posts, I'm a bit apprehensive in downloading and installing the FS9.1 upgrade.Thoughts and advice would be appreciated,Lawrie
