Wondering if anyone has Sporty's Chart Viewer?http://www.sportys.com/chartviewer/Wondering if it has smaller airports, how many charts total, etc.I have also been looking at SimPlates 2004:http://www.avshop.com/catalog/product.html...&categoryid=161There is a big price difference, though SimPlates does include the World. Just cant seem to find much info about the Sporty's viewer. Thanks for any help, Randy ATaiwan

Hi, I posted this in scenery design forum, but maybe that was the wrong place, so I thought I'd ask here. I am trying hard to increase the realism of the landscape in Michigan. In particular, south east michigan (livonia, plymouth, 1D2, etc.) and the Detroit area. I am now ready to buy a third-party add-on, but am a little confused as to what "features" I should be looking for. For example, I know that in my area the mesh/terrain is relatively flat, so that's not AS important to me as the overall look of the landscape. So far, I believe that products such as FScene 2004, FSGenesis, MyWorld 2004 may meet my needs. Are there any others I should consider? What are your thou…

Can someone tell me - I installed the new Flight 1 new water relief textures tonight and now I don't have any white waves crashing on the beaches anymore. I LOVED that effect! I tried changing the textures back to the old way, which doesn't look as nice, but it did not restore the white wave crashes on the beaches. Anyone have any ideas how I can use the new water textures but still have waves that appear to crash on the beaches?Thank you Chris Catalano

Hello everybody,Recently I came across an ATC program called FsComat www.pointsoftware.deAfter having used Proflight 2000 in Fs2000 and Fs2002 I am still looking for an ATC programm with country specific chatter. It seems that this program has that.At Simflight.com there are two short reviews from 2 years ago. Before purchasing it I would like to have some more info from fellow simflyers who know the program or maybe even use the program. All feedback is welcome.Gerard Salden

I have here two screenshots of different runway lights, and I'd like you to "vote", which one you like better.Notice that Runway1 is modified version of "sparkly" lights from avsim.com, and Runway2 are unmodified Chris Willis lights.http://www.Word Not Allowed.dawolf.at/Runway1.jpghttp://www.Word Not Allowed.dawolf.at/Runway2.jpg

  10. Hi all,for a flight planning tutorial I am in need of freeware low enroute charts for the US, namely L20 and L22. Does anyone know where I could find a link that I could provide with the text?If not, is it allowed to include scanned parts of my paper charts published by the US government? Whom would I have to ask for permission?

Hey guys anyone purchased this scenery of Denver yet? What is it like and how are the frame rates. Always nervous of trying out the demo's as they don't always give you a full picture of frame rates.CheersSmiley

Has anyone else experienced a problem with KIAD by Simflyers and autogen scenery in FS2K4? It appears to eradiacate all scenery within about a 5 mile radius of the airport. I thought it might be a bad EXCLUDE in the scenery.cfg, but removing it doesn't seem to make much difference. Is the KIAD scenery footprint so huge that it just blots out everything within 5 miles or should I suspect an installation problem?JPS. I'd post this at simflyers.net, but their forums appear to be offline at the moment.

I know this is a well-trodden path, and I have spent quite some time scanning through previous posts (some getting a bit ancient) on this topic before submitting this. The array of advice is rather overwhelming! I wonder if anyone has a kind of 'summary' of what has been said before. Has anyone managed to 'fix' this problem, inasmuch as a definitive fix can ever exist? I have tried a few FS9.exe tweaks, but the permutations of the various options are endless. I have attached a typical picture of what I tend to get. The textures nearly always DO resolve into nice crisp ones, but it can take over one minute to do so. The problem is worse (of course) over third party airport…

  14. Well, it is a daft question in a way, as it seems so obvious, but so many landings go awry (well, 10-20% maybe, enough to annoy me) that I wonder what I am doing wrong - or is it the programme? Surely if it were me, all my landings would go the same way??I usually switch on the APR button after I have been given instructions by ATC to maintain my altitude until I hit the glide path: once the plane's turn begins to straighten out towards the runway, that's when I switch on APR. Often the plane (we're talking Boeings and Airbuses here) intercepts the ILS signal fine and then descends towards the runway. (Quite often it wants to come down well short of the threshold, but tha…

Hi all I have a problem of the nose gear not on the ground. It appears it is off the ground and not touching it.I do believe it has something to do with the contact points, that is if I recall correctly. I do remember there was a solution to this, but I cannot remember how this is done. Can anyone of you simmers out there that is familiar about this, can you take the time to respond and provide me the information I seek.I hope you guys have the answers.thanksChanrak

This is the best out-of-the-box addon plane for FS since PIC767! I was skeptical since many of the newer complex models, it seems, are released a little half-baked. I'd say the team hit a pretty good compromise between systems fidelity and performance - just as the PIC team did all those years ago. This thing feels like a complex aircraft to fly - not a souped up Cessna. The sounds are fantastic and once I followed their recommendation to disconnect the FSUIPC joystick controls for my throttle quadrant, I find it flies very nicely. It would be nice to have offsets for the power levers so they could be controlled with keyboard or button inputs for those of us with home coc…

Just wanted to put a plug in for joe binka and his very nice model of his freeware 1944 Grumman Widgeon. I really like the engine sounds at power as they sound just like I remembered growing up here in Alaska. What is really neat, in my opinion, is how the Coast Guard Aircrew is in motion on the flightdeck. They are a very nice addition. Thanks Joe, She will be getting alot of Alaskan Flight Time on Search and Rescue.....Fly SafeDave in Alaska

I have been over to SIM FORUMS and here and all I can say is that this enhancement does not work.I went as far as uninstalling USA roads and reinstalling with SP1 and still no luck. All roads still cross water regardless how you set up the configurator it will always default to "ONLY MAJOR ROADS AND HIGHWAYS CROSS WATER".I went and changed the USAROADS configuration file to read like this :[settings]DataSet=1FadingLights=1TextureType=3Pavement=0Traffic=1RoadsOverWater=0<<<< Changed this to 1Day=1This will force the configurator to select no roads cross water but after I modified I still had roads over the water,If anyone has a clue how to make this enhancement …

Has anyone tried the AN-22 in FS9 and if so did you have problems loading 3 gauges??I get an error that FS9 cannot load AN26_ARK.gau - AN26_AUASP.gauand AN22_RADIO-STACK.gau. All 3 gauges are definitely installed into FS9`s Gauges but don`t show up for me. Strangely when clicking on the cockpit icon of the RadioStack I get an error that it can`t be loaded and then it loads.Comments pleaseGeorge Aldridge

It's all about flying from A to B in a safe way. One can use the SID when leaving the Departure airport and one of the STAR's when arriving to the Destination airport. How do I choose my way between the SID an STAR? I can use a direct way, Victor Airways or Jet Airways. As far as I can see this issue their is 2 factors that decide which way one take: 1) the aircraft type and 2) the distance. Does anybody have any comments on this or maybe some kind of "rules of thumb" concerning which (air)way one choose between Departure and Destination?Kind RegardsLars
