This is something that's always kind of perplexed me about my video card settings (try not to laugh gforce 3 ti200). When you go into the performance settings you have a choice of 3 options in which to move the slider. From left to right they are: performance, high performance, and quality. Am I safe to assume that "quality" is the highest setting?Another pet peeve of mine is the manual that comes with the card doesn't tell you anything about what these settings mean. And another question. Why is there even an option? Wouldn't you always set your cards performance to it's optimum setting?

I have been simming for many years and have avoided the VA's. Why? Beacuse I found them too limited. A week ago I happened upon Airsource. The fact that your flightime is logged in real time and others can see your progress provides the sense of purpose. I have a MSI GeForce5900XT with 1Gb DDR RAMwith the Omega 1.6177 (Q) driversCurrently my settings are as follow:AA = 2xAF = 4xRefresh Rate = 75 MhzThe AA goes to 8xSAF goes to 8xI see some goes guys talk about setting AA to 16 (on what card do you have this setting because the maximum I've seen is 8xS ...?I did notice that with the above settings, FSNavigator takes about 8 seconds longer to load when you start FSNav up, while if the above settings are set to "Application Controlled", it loads in a second.What will be the best settings and why does this new card not have a 16 setting under AA ...?Just trying to experiment a little with this. Hi,I have noticed an odd little problem over the last few months.Sometimes, for seemingly no reason at all, the throttle that controls engine No2 on twins will stop working.The joystick and keys will still operate throttle No1, but No2 seems dead, and no amount of pressing "E + 1,2" or any off the usal key combinations will get it working again.I have had it happen in both the Aeroworx B200 and the Eurowings ATRAny idea why this sometimes happens?Dan.

I know there have been a zillion posts on this subject but this one is a little different from any I have read. My issue is that there is a line across my video screen about half way between the top of the glare shield and the top of the screen. Below the line, textures are sharp and detailed and above the line they are blurry.I have an FX 5600 on a P4 1.7. The issue doesn't seem to be driver-related.Also, whether related or not, the views out the side windows don't exhibit that problem. They are entirely sharp and clear.Any ideas??Thanks

Hi all,Is it possiable to create an addon that has flight dynamics characteristics not constrained by the default FS engine? I remember a few months back when I was browsing a copy of Computer Pilot at B&N. There was a short paragraph in the News section talking about an addon company whose addon uses its own flight dynamic dlls instead of the default one. Hence, they were able create an addon that behave almost like the real thing. If anyone of you is aware about this, please let me know the name of this company.

Out of the blue my FS9.1 seems to cut down FPS. In the PSS A332 cockpit-view I used to have at least 20-25 FPS while standing at the gate, now 5-6 only!! I tried everything that crossed my mind. I deleted fs9.cfg and had FS9 to produce a new one. I verified that hardware accellerations are running as well as DX9c. No luck. At last I completely deinstalled FS9 and deleted all remaining files manually. (backed up the whole directory before, though)From the scratch I installed FS9 and started with the default Cessna at Meigs Field. 12 FPS only!! I should have 50-60 instead. Since I fly the 747 cargo planes and the MD-11 cargo planes every once in a while I figured it would be fun to fly the military cargo jets. I was wondering if there is a good C-5 Galaxy and/or C-17 Globemaster available for FS2004?

What panel is everyone using these days for their EMB-120 in FS9? I always used Leon Seale's modifications to Bill Grabowski's panel in FS2002, but I don't know if it would work in FS9 especially with the new GPS stuff.Thanks for any help!Airbus

Thanks to W. Sieffert for leading in the right direction for this.I do believe one step may be bypassed however. It worked on my system anyway.W. Sieffert advised: "Rename your fs9.cfg...." I DID NOT do this step. I am sure he is far ahead of me in the knowledge of computer/FS9 knowledge, but this worked for me without creating a new fs9.cfg file. If one desires to retain their edited fs9.cfg unchanged, I thought that this might be helpful.NOTE: I do not mean by this that it is not a good idea to back up your file before doing anything. Hey, a little tip for everyone:I just purchased some payware sceneries, and installed them. They all come with auto installers. To my horror, I discovered that they had all altered the sequential numbering of scenery layers and there were mistakes and gaps in numbering. I had to go back and manually fix everything one layer at a time...aaarrrggghhh! I know there's probably a program out there that does that automatically. Anyway, back up your scenery cfg before a new auto-installation of scenery.I'm just telling you all, because a badly configured scenery cfg file could cause you problems next time you load FS9. Check those cfg files and make sure they are neat and ordere…

I have the F1 Meridian, and love it, but that is a Ferrari!I'm looking to add a single engine, entry level, GA aircraft and am looking at the above FS9 C172 & C177 offerings. I'd really like to get a 182, but can't find one for FS9.I'm looking for eye candy and accurate flight characteristics - IOW everything. I know, get both! The C177 is nice as it is comes with the fixed gear, lower power as well as the retractable turbocharged higher power "classic" Cardinal.I'd also prefer to have a constant speed prop.But the 172 is a brand new release, and may look a little more photoreal, or are they about the same?Can anyone comment on which they might choose of the two above…
