I do most of my sim flying using real time weather. What upgrades or enchancements would ActiveSky provide to me? Also, what is ActiveSky's hit on frame rates? Lastly if I purchase ActiveSky, which package 2004 or 2004.5?Thanks for the helpTom

Hi,I Came across an article in the Jan. issue of "Popular Science" Magazine. It's about a new personal jet concept by George Bye. A mockup is in progress and FAA certification is expected by 2007. It's a neat looking aircraft. Here are two web sites that I thought interesting. One site has a gallery of Javelin pictures. The other has a good description of the plane and what it will be designed for.:-outta http://www.avtechgroup.com/gallery.asphttp://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviation/arti...1006783,00.htmlTo design an aircraft like this for FS9 might be worth learning GMAX. I've been avoiding learning GMAX due to it's complexity and steep learning curve.:-eek This, however…

I've noticed an additional file in the aircraft folders in FS9.I didn't have this "Thumbs" in FS2K2. Clicking its properties, I see it's a "data base file."Anyone know what this is, what it does, why is it needed????What if some of my AI or Flyable aircraft don't have a "Thumbs"folder? Will the lack of a "Thumbs" file create a problem or CTD?Thanks for any info. This is part of my current effort to seek the source of CTDs that have been plaguing my enjoyment.Rick (KMKE; 49F today. I've tried a few different learjet panels and note that some will only work at 1024 x 768, but my computer will go to 1280 x 1024 on a 17" Sony Flat panel. I've also noticed that the flight dynamics seemed to change when I tried the Rolf Dieter Buckmann redesign which seemed to be a great panel but would only work at 1024 X 768. Would you suggest which panel you feel has the best visuals, guages, flight dynamics, etc. for 1280 x 1024? Thanks very much for your help. I can't make panels myself, but appreciate the wonderful work of the various authors. I'm just looking for guidance to the best at this resolution. Thanks, again.Bruce

From what a gathered when it came out, folks were complaining about diminished performance in FS9 because of DirectX 9.0C (as opposed to DirectX 9.0b). Were these just unsubstantiated rumors or is there truly some sort of problem (performance or otherwise) with this version of DirectX?

Okay everyone, dont start a flame war please. I know it's been discussed before, and so here it goes again...MY wish list for the next version of FS. You may disagree or agree, but this is my 2 cent worth. Tell me what you think, but please dont make comments that MS may not release another version, or that it will be on some other platform. This is all in fun, AND an assumption that another version will be released one day, for a PC!Top Ten:Improved ATC engine, meaning that- A) we get the same features as Radar Contact, or in the least make it easier for add-on folks to improve the default ATC system... :( voice integration perhaps such as Vox ATC, but with much better s…

I downloaded and installed John Recker's very fine new Beech Bonanza today and noticed the 2d panel shows a black screen with the gauges superimposed on it in their proper positions. Is there a missing bmp file missing or is this plane intended to just have a vc?It's an excellent model, btw, and flies very smoothly. Thanks John.BlairCYOW

Hi,I've been checking Toni's web site and found his gauges interesting. Is anyone usign them? Has anyone tried to install them in any panel? I have some ability installing new gauges in panels and in case it is possible to install the gauges in Lonny Payne panel for example (I would also try to install them in other panels) I would for it. USD19 is a good price if the gauge is compatible with any panel. Thanks,Leo

I haven't heard any of the expected flameings of this product. Anyone havy any opinions about this one? How are the flight dynamics?Normally I'd be frusterated about the lack of an FMC, but maybe thats a bit more of an honest approach towards releasing a product. Finish something then release it as a module. Is the panel finished?__Josh

  25. Since I've upgraded to FS 9.1 (with its ability to increase terrain resolution? ) that my Spain VFR-Mesh Canary Islands by FsPlanet shows strange graphic artifacts ( like terrain waves across the hole scenery ).Prior to the 9.1 upgrade all was fine, so not an FsPlanet problem, and everything its also fine with the fs 9.1, so not a Microsoft problem either. It turned out to be a problem I have to solve, so I'm asking to whom can help me about this problem. Is it possible to make a change in the scenery config in order to mantain it's previous resolution? or there is no such possibility? Is there any other way ( besides uninstalling the 9.1 path ) to solve the situation? tha…
