I am currently having a couple of problems that I was hoping someone here could help with.Problem 1:I am having a problem with Automated Weather stations in FS 9. If I'm at an airport with AWOS instead of ATIS, I get no report of any kind on the AWOS or ASOS frequency. This is true of stock airports, as well as those that have new AFCAD 2 files. ATIS reports work correctly, but the AWOS and ASOS both have stopped working, although I'm certain they used to work. Any suggestions on what has happened here or how I might correct it?Problem 2:On the kneeboard, the "A" button, which is supposed to show the flightplan, now shows me a page not found error. I was wondering if I had been dreaming about a utility that scanned FS9 for bad .bgl files???? - I have the utility for scanning AFCAD files that searched for duplicates. What I am looking for is a scanner that will detect bad .bgl files in general.Wes pretty sure I had seen one long time ago but search engines have failed me to date.. :(Dave

Far be it from me to critisise the Avsim forum system, but I feel that ever since the Hardware issues were designated their own forum, the chance of getting a reply to a query on that site has diminished.The "computer boffin" catchment area being smaller, as more folk read the general forum, and so do not visit the other forum on such a regular basis.Therefore, if any kind soul has knowledge of Dual Monitor set ups, would you kindly toddle over to the aforementioned forum and see if you can help an aged Brit.Many thanks - and thanks to Avsim also for this wonderful site.

The new card is: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX4000The problem is that add-on panels do not display correctly in full window mode. What I see with add-on panels is a very close-up view of the upper left 1/4 part of the panel. The panels are fine in windowed mode. The default panels are fine. Panel views are the only problems I'm having with FS.What I've tried so far:* Updated drivers.* Installed latest version of Direct X.* Adjusted the display settings.* Doubled checked display and video card settings.There is probably something basic that I missed, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. I'm still quiet new to FS9. I've only had it installed for a few weeks.How do I edit and get rid of the cabin announcements that came with the default 737 repaints I downloaded? It is the cabin checklist that repeats about every 5-10 minutes or so.I hope this is enough info. to identify the issue.Thanks,

To the people who have this aircraft do you think the $24.95 price is reasonable? It seems a bit on the high side for a single engine training aircraft [when you can get a twin turboprop for the same price] so is it otherwise recommended for the overall quality and flight model? I seem to remember that after a while in FS2004 the mouse cursor would go into "Hide" mode & disappear from the screen. This no longer seems to happen & am at a loss as to why. I have a LogitechMX700 IR Mouse. If anyone can advise me on this I would be very grateful.

I have a peculiar performance problem that I was hoping one of the FS9 gurus on this board could help me with. See signature for new rig specs... I'm using the KSEA default airport (winter, dawn, 7:00 am, active runway) as my "benchmark". I'm at the point where I'm out of ideas about how to cure my problem. If I don't find an easier solution, I will be forced to reinstall the OS and FS9 and there is no guarantee that will solve the problem. Problem: When running the benchmark above (assumption is that problem would occur at other areas too), the sim will freeze for 3-5 seconds. I have a particular model which I have the gmax source files for and want to tweak or remove the specular shine. I would appreciate someone with knowledge of gmax to do it for me. I understand its a retty easy process for folks with gmax and a little experience. Right now I do not have the time to install and learn it so any help would be [email protected]

I have a rather strange recent problem. When ever I try to start a flight in the UK the sim hangs up at about the 9% "Loading Terrain" when attempting to start the flight. I have tried to disable some UK scenery (VFR - 4 volumes) but that makes no difference.I am able to start a flight elsewhere and fly to the UK and all seems well, the hang up is only when starting a flight in the UK - has anyone else experienced anything quite like this?. If so what is the cure :)All suggestions welcome - this is driving me nuts.Dave

Hi Before running fs2004, i used Lago's fsassist for fs2002. Unfortunately, in their infinite wisdom, Lago decided not to upgrade this useful little program for fs2004. The feature i found most useful was the ability to adjust scenery detail levels on the fly without having to use any drop down menus.Is anyone aware of any small utilities out there that would allow such adjustment via the keyboard and not through the menus ? Hi,I would like to slow down the slew mode, meaning to reduce the speed of the movement when moving the joystick in slew mode.A single small movement and the airplane reaches 8500 KIAS, which is quite uncomfortable for my passengers, even before lunch...Every time I want to choose an airplane's position in an airport, my poor plane finishes in the middle of a field, 500 miles from the airport..I can't do it through the MS Force Feedback 2 joystick that calibrates itself automaticaly.Is there an entry in FS9.cfg that can be changed?best regards,David

Hey, if I'm not mistaken the new Megascenery Pacific Northwest was supposed to be out yesterday (feb. 7). However, I have seen absolutely no indication that it actually was released. Both the megascenery website and the pcaviator website still announce that it is "coming soon- February 7!" I pre-ordered it back in mid-january and I received an order confirmation, but my bank account was never charged and my order tracking lists that it is on back-order/not yet released. Hi Folks,I've been using FS9 on my PIII with Windows ME (please see specs below). I've been happy with the performance of FS9 on my machine and generally have about 90% of resources available for FS9, after I close non essential programs.I'm considering upgrading to Windows XP and was wondering if I'll lose performance as Windows XP uses more ram than Windows ME. I'm already maxed out at 512 ram on my system.Please let me know your thoughts. ALso, please indicate if you've actually done the same type of operating system upgrade on a PIII as I'm considering.Thanks in advance.....

Hi all,Since I can't find any full screenshots of their panel on their website, I was wondering if someone could maybe post one, that would be awesome. Also, when looking at the small, little screenshots they have on their site, it looked like the main panel is pink? Is that true?
