I just wanted to give some overdue praise to PMDG's Beech 1900D. I think it is an outstanding addon at a great value. I would love to see more products in the PMDG express line. The visual modeling is spectacular, the installation was a no brainer, and they even have numerous free liveries for the plane. Overall a very nice plane at a very nice price.

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I decided to try out FS9 a few months ago. My main problem is finding ILS frequencies. I tried zooming in on the map as per instructions but all I saw were VOR and COM frequencies. I am not familiar with the Garmin GPS, does that have an ILS database?

Quoted from SB Website"Release Candidate! The RC1 build of SquawkBox was just released to testers. Release candidate builds differ from betas in that no changes will be made unless a further critical error is found during testing. So barring any major problems all that remains is for VATSIM to grant approval to SquawkBox 3 and for me to finish up the final holes in the documentation.Thank you all for your continued patience--it shouldn't be much longer until release now. Rest assured that everything is being done by all parties involved to get SB3 out as soon as possible."

Ok, now I'm getting really excited! The two coolest add-ons for Flight Simulator have made my simulatin experience almost real. TrackIR3 - Most of you know what it is. http://www.naturalpoint.com. Allows me to look around in full 3d mode by turning my head. Great! Now I can really tackle flying VFR with sectional charts and looking for those reference points! Nice downwinds and base legs! Now, on to the less popular (only because it's fairly new): VoxATC: http://www.voxatc.omVoxATC is absolutely amazing. It's still in early stages of development, so there's a few quirks, but overall it does the job well. Basically, you speak into your microphone using the Speach Recognitio…

Has anyone purchased "Wings over Vietnam? Is it any good? I almost picked it up today, but I've been disappointed too many times not to wait for some feedback. Thanks!Jim

Do you have to calibrate the throttle axes for every aircraft in the registered version of FSUIPC or does the one procedure do for all planes?.Seems a silly question but I have noticed some differing values for max and min settings when processing the throttle, mixture and pitch axes for different aircraft.I hope the one time will be correct as I have lost count of all the addon aircraft!! :)Dave

Any thoughts on this since the patch. Sounds like the option to turn off the Photo textures was a good idea. I would like to hear what anyone post patch has to say.ThanksAndrew

Hello,Was wondering if anyone who owns the BAE 146 could comment on it. It looks pretty professional, and I noticed it comes with an FMC, was wondering also if that is fully functional. Jeff USAF

I just upgraded to new Catalyst/DNA ATI drivers.3DMark03 test as well as Unreal Turnament run fine. But when I start FS9 it goes as far as loading scenery .. up to about 59% and then bombs out. No error message, nothing, just back to desktop.I deleted old FS9.cfg and I attempt to load FS9 in its basic form - all default settings, default scenerio, etc. No luck.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

It occurs to me ( a bit late in the day) that I could connect my Radeon 9800 Pro card to my Philips 36" flat screen TV, using a 7-pin S-video out to SCART cable, and fly FS9 using the TV as my monitor. Has anyone tried 'flying on TV' instead of the PC monitor? I would be a bit worried about the native resolution making the whole thing look disappointing. The only cable I can find (after e-mailing ATI) ships from the States (I'm in the UK) so don't want to waste time and money or a white elephant..Thanks in advance for any advice - especially from personal experience of trying the same thing.Martin S.

Hey All,Given the payware and freeware available to us - if you were to pick one and only one aircraft manufacturer to fly planes from - what manufacturer would it be?For me it would likely be Pilatus.FSD's turbo Porter and the freeware or Abacus PC-12 would do it for me - although I have to admit you'd probably have to pry my cold dead fingers off the controls of my Cheyenne 400 LS or my Found Bushhawk SP.How about you?Take Care! -Ed-

Yea, guess what, these two can be merged. I just did it. Early results are very nice. The merge is NOT endorsed by either Lago or MDMax and I only reported it on the MDMax site. Nevertheless, having bought both at almost $80.00 US, I wanted to try! I also tried to add the FS9 GPS to try and get some kind of automatic GPS system into the MDMax, but no go! If anyone else trys this and succeeds, let us who may be interested know! IF anyone wants to know other details, just ask!Hint: merge only the NON-VC version of the MD80, I had CTDs with the VC version, but then I don't think I made all the proper aircraft.cfg alterations. I may try that later.Randy Jura, KPDX

Right now I can get my PMDG to start cold and dark in VC, which is fine, but now I need to get all flights to start cold and dark in 2D mode(if not my Boeing 314 acts up). So far I've been able to get my Boeing 314 to start up almost cold and dark, but its always in VC mode. This means a series of aircraft swaps to get the panel to work correctly.Help please, if not, I'll be forced to use saved flights which dont start up using system time and/or real-time weather and that sucks!

Suddenly, on all my aircraft the radio displays, altitude, speed, vs displays on glareshields are empty??????? Rest of the panels and displays work fine. anyone know what's going on?ricardo

Desperation is creeping in, folks. Ongoing saga of my misadventures with AFCAD 2 causing Crash To Desktop, or more.Doesn't matter if it's my own AFCAD design of just adding a few extra gatesspots, or a full 3rd party file of an airport.Just the other day I was adding gates to KONT and KCNO. All's well. But then I placed a few spots at KPSP nearby, and WHAM, CTD!So I tried to start a flight at KPSP. Program goes to load flight, but crashes before the flight begins. So clearly AFCAD 2 is somehow giving FS9 a bad taste. If I delete the add on scenery file AFCAD 2 created, it's a 50-50 chance the airport will load, or not load the default.I'm really trying to figure this out, …

Can someone explain me what "circle to land" means?Today, for the first time, the ATC cleared me to land by saying "VOR DME 9 runway approach circle to land runway 27" (I was landing at TCNM, Princess Juliana, St Marteen, airport does not have ILS).I don't know what it means and how it is supposed to be used to land on airports without ILS, even in IFR.Any help? Thanks.Eric

The FS9 autopilot uses "trim" to hold an altitude as well as for climbs and descends. Real-world pilots tell me that this is not the way autopilots work on real-world aircraft.Because of this, one of the problems I have with FS9 when I disengage the A/P is that the aircraft jumps up or down, sometimes on short final, which is not very nice. In a real-world aircraft, once you trim your aircraft, it will remain trimmed, and the autopilot will not un-trim your plane, so when you disengage your A/P, you plane continues to fly smoothly without jumping up or down, climbing or descending unexpectedly. Is there a way to make FS9 not use trim to control the autopilot? How do other…

I wish to re-install FS9 on a different HDD partition. I have about twenty flyable addon aircraft (payware and shareware), new shareware sceneries in the Addon Scenery folder, modified airfields (AFCAD221) and many AI aircraft and schedules. I need advice on how best to re-install FS9 so that my addons and AI schedules are preserved. Also, I wish to make sure that my various scenery design programs and other shortcuts can find the new install and not search vainly for the original. I suppose I begin by backing up everything I care about...what next? Thanks.
