Hi all,I'm wondering if any one of you talented painters out there would be willing to work me up a rather simple paint job on the Flight1 152. Its N48650, which I ferried across the US this summer over a 3 day period from Montgomery Field, near San Diego, CA, to Hummel Field, a small field east of Richmond, VA on the Chesapeake Bay. My ultimate goal is to eventually recreate the flight and write a documentary to be posted here on avsim if its accepted. Thanks in advance,Travis FaudreeCommercial AS/MELEmbry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL

Hi,Has anyone done a decent review of the FScene Australian texture replacements?By all accounts the European / US textures are quite good, and the screenshots on the FScene web site look pretty nice.Unfortunately, the Australian screenshots do not look substantially different to the default scenery. Admittedly, the screenshots are of urban coastal areas, and look green enough to only be Tropical Queensland.Has anyone with some experience of Australia from the air used this scenery? (Preferably someone who has flown over the inland areas, or understands what I mean when I say the colours are unique!)While the FScene textures do look good, they are pricey in AUS$, and they…

I am having something strange happen. It seems that the headings are all offset about 10-12 degrees clockwise - for example, suppose I'm lined up with runway 18, which is at 180 degrees. The heading indicator will show that I am heading 192 degrees or so. This is consistant across planes and locations. Actually the offset varies by location as if the magnetic variation for the entire world has disappeared. I recently updated the airac cycle, but I'm not sure how this (or anything else) could have affected this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.Drew

  7. I know there's been some talk about this, but I just found out and installed the free demo. Very cool. In select cities, resolution is at 3 inches. I think streaming realtime satallite imagery will be where this goes eventually. It will dovetail with the next gen of broadband, which is just around the corner.www.keyhole.comTry a downtown San Diego address!Noel

  8. What ZOOM setting should one use in the cockpit for flying in a medium and large jetliner in FS9? I have a range of settings in various models, like the whole Boeing series, that range from 0.57 to 1.00 and they have considerably different visual/optical effects and definitely influence lining up for landing, etc. But I don't know what ZOOM factor is most realistic. Also, where do you go in the aircraft file(s) to change the cockpit zoom factor?Any suggestions/advice gratefully received, thanks.JS

  9. When you start descending in a prop airliner from cruise (say FL150 or FL180) for approach and landing, do you typically keep the RPM up and just descend at a higher airspeed? Or do you reduce RPM to a lower level and sort of descend in a semi-powered glide to approach altitude? I am not sure of the best way to do this. I've been flying jet airliners for too long!Appreciate any advice, thanks!JS

  18. Like most of you I'd imagine, we not only box ourselves in to local/regional flying within the FS9 scenery world, but tend to stay there for the most part. As they say, '...apples do not fall too far from the tree...'Today on a whim, I decided to check out the Solomon Islands. AGGK (Kirakira) to note. If you have a recent video card, and a processor to properly run it, you are in for a treat if you decide to take the tourist-friendly Cess 180 for a spin. Take off from the '28' side of the field and as you clear the other end of the ocean-side lower ridge---a simply ***BREATHTAKING*** panorama opens up to you with the mountains to the left and the ocean and coves to the …

Planets may not be represented, but I wanted to make sure the topic wouldn't be confused with STARS :)Cleaning out my "really will do later" folder - 1500 files some dating back to FS98 - I found a March 2004 file stars.dat. There was no readme in the package. I think it is probably a replacement for the stars.dat which is found in the root of FS9, but I'm not sure.Does anyone have any more information about this file please? I've searched the file library without success, although I did find lots and lots of STARS.Thanks.--Bryn

My very first impressions of Lago's new MD80:1. $45.00 US, not inexpensive2. Installs with two different models, one with and one without a VC. Lago says they are still working on the VC for the one without.3. It seems that besides the installed liveries, JetCity will be handling sales of pending liveries, apparently a whole series from the MD80/81 to MD90. I am not sure however, it's kinda confusing on who is going to sell what.4. The 2D panel looks good to me, maybe not great, say like PMDG, but that's a real subjective call on my part. 5. Externally, looks fabulous6. Sounds really good too.7. I even started it cold, kinda like the old Flight1 DC9 only a …

  22. I have just added the CH Throttle to the yoke and pedals and have been paying attention to the instructions leaflets and help files for the first time in my life. Having got to grips with the CH Control Manager software (V3.60) and done all the callibrations and mapping I have a really annoying problem. All works fine except the lever assigned to Engine 1 Mixture. I have the registered version of FSUIPC and done all the necessary axis assigmnments and settings in FSUIPC but I never can see any input signals for the engine 1 mixture lever. The device seems to work fine as when all the throttle levers are calibrated they all show that they are sedning output to the Conr…

I'm pretty new to helos, but I did fly a few times in 2002 with the bell. My problem is that in 2002 I was able to trim the tail with the keyboard so it flew straight. The Robinson has a trim control on the one panel, but it's too hard to trim with the mouse, and I can't find the keyboard shortcut for this. I've only been able to find the controls listed in the learning center in FS9, but none seem to correspond with this action.Any ideas? Thanks,Chris
