Hi,Does anybody know if ATC in FS use holding patterns? I have never encountered it, but was not sure if it was because I allways fly on low-volume traffic or it is just not used. Sometimes holding comes in handy (weather, fuel, etc..). Any info would be appreciated..regards,Macs

I mainly fly the PMDG 737 with AS2005 and FS2Crew. I am having a problem right after I land at my destination. As soon as I exit the runway, the runways and taxiways momentarily turn black then revert back to normal (screenshot attached). Happens about every 10 seconds or so. This problem just started showing up on my last couple of flights, before that everything was fine. Ok, they're both in completely different parts of the world but I love good scenery. I have my eye on both of these and both of these products are in the $50US range. At the AVSIM Conference last September the MS guys were making it sound as if we would be seeing some preliminary screens & specs soon on the next version of FS... FS06 I assume. Has anyone seen anything about it?I get a little nervous when I hear that TS2 has been cancelled.

Any idea why all the buildings at JFK other than the terminal show as a crazy mix of colors?

Hihas anyone removed/deleted the folder that now resides in FS9 called BACKUP, I was wondering if we could get rid of it now, especialy as we are now on 9.1, so why would we want to go back to 9.0thanks.

Wondering how the panel is, number one, and whether it works well with the SGA MD-80, which I assume we'd have to use until the MDMax model is released. BTW, there is an existing thread discussing price. :-)billg

I'm a fan of difficult curved approaches, hand flown of course (Kai Tak, Gibraltar, Funchal,...).But, I find it almost impossible to perform such an approach properly, at least when compared to real life.The reason for this is the lack of visibility.E.g. if I do the approach to Gibraltar rwy 09 and need to do the 90 deg right turn, I have massive problems judging the correct point in time when to start the maneuver. Moreover, I have the biggest problems to see the runway at all at the right!Neither does glimpsing to the right (hat switch) nor doing the approach in the VC help much.Gibraltar for example has no radio aids, so the only way to cheat for me is using some plane…

Often times on some models it's too dark in the VC--can't read gauges etc. Yet, in the default Lear for example you can turn on panel lights and the whole VC brightens, even during daylight. Any way to do that to other aircraft?Noel

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.Loss of engine textures when undercarriage is UP.Textures return with undercarriage down!Textures are ok when I select and load the aircraft, but disappear after a few minutes flying.

Hi all,Im having trouble geting good landings in the F1 727.I try to keep on the glide path, but I just cant seem to get it to lose height with the flaps extended, so I end up floating down the runway, and having to cut the throttle hence landing at 97Knots!!! which sometimes depending on weight results in a thump.I calculated that for my weight I should be landing at around 130 Knots with 40 deg flaps. But just could not lose height once I got about 8 miles from the runway. If I cut the power back ill drop below my Vref speed, so what am I doing wrong?Any help on this subject would be great.ThanksJason

Hello - I've been diving into the mysteries of texture refresh, unsuccessfully. Here's my test case: parked at the gate at KPHX. Textures come up sharp and clear on terrain, buildings, aircraft. After about 20-30 seconds, the whole scene refreshes, may go to gray objects for a bit, then comes up with blurred textures on aircraft and buildings. If I hit the alt key the sharp textures are reasserted almost instantly, so they're still in memory somewhere.I've got a lot running: SimFlyers KPHX, F1_727. I have ActiveWeather online. I'm using FSGenesis mesh and landclass. In the 727 I have put in RXP weather radar and replaced the MS GPS with the RXP GNS530. I've installed the …

There are some texture downloads that state "This is an AI aircraft and will NOT BE VISIBLE in the aircraft selection window in flight simulator". My question is, is there a way to make them show up in theflight window? Thanks.

Is there a way to fix the light so that they on a different way? For instance the beacon light only comes on when the landing lights are on, I would like to fix it so that the beacon light can come on without the landing lights on. Also the wing light only comes on when the nav lights are on. I would like to make that separate also.

Hi,For some reason, I went to run Editvoicepack this evening and it no longer works.I get the error, CLR error : 80004005.I have unistalled both Editvoicepack, and the .NET network, and installed the lastest .NET pack and all patches/SR's, to no avail.Any ideas?Dan.

For some reason I can not see any panels. (I do have the view box checked and if i hit the ALT button or left mouse click I see them until I release the botton). It is very strange...any hekp...PLEASE.

I know this is something that has been talked about in the past and caused some contraversy. I love the PMDG NG and NEVER fly anything else. It is simply a gem. I did however read the the Ariane Sound sets are wonderful too, if you are willing to pay. I decided to give it a whirl, b/c I wanted to see what they were like. I have read in here that there are some people that use both together and think the combo is great. I tried to install, but all I get is a very "prop-like" sound. I put all of the sound files in the -700 sound folder, copied the .cfg file and overwrote everything. The sounds do not make sense. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? thanks again!Brad…

I'm running MSFS 2002 / Win 98 / DirecX 8.14, using a Wingman Extreme controller/pad.At random intervals MSFS "loses" the joystick. When it happens, the options menu "enable/disable" joystick is greyed out. When I run the wingman utility, it says "no joystick found". The only solution is to reboot.This is probably a Win98/DirectX / Wingman driver problem ?? or maybe a hardware problem.Just wondering if anybody has experienced something similar and what the solution was.thxMike

for those of you who subscribe, which do you like and why. the last time I subscribed to any, they were full throttle and microwings...both taken over by another outfit. so, are the current generation of fs hobby mags worth $40 a year (u.s.) or do forums such as this and flightsim make magazines unnecessary and redundant. thanks...Sherm

Hi Guy'sI have the 777 from posky, it's the BA Coloured one, by Dikson Chan,I am having trouble with the cargo doors,and the two passenger doors, there not controlled by the usual shift-e key combi, it's the secondary pasenger door key assignments that open and closes them, that's the problem though, I can't close them, whenever I close them they just open up again straight away, any suggestions would be welcomed as to how I can stop this.PS the normal shift-E does close the normal pax door, and it stays closed,

I recently noticed that I have bgl files with names starting with "de", "dem" and "dw" in my SceneryWorldTexture directory. Is this normal or is it an indication that something is off kilter in my file/directory configuration? I realize that non-image files in a texture directory will most likely be ignored by fs9 and not cause a catastrophic failure but what caused them to be written there in the first place? I know I didn't add them manually so they have to be from an installer. Maybe this is a normal occurrence for installers that add mesh or something but if so, I've never noticed it before.
