I need some help here. I downloaded some nice re-paints for FS2004 default B737-400, but none of the re-paints show up. Instead, FS2004 shows the Microsoft airlines (pacifica, american pacifica, etc.). I added re-paints for B777 and B747 and they all show up without issue! What am I doing wrong here? Part of my B737 aircraft.cfg is shown below. I appreciate any help from this forum:[fltsim.0]title=Boeing 737-400sim=Boeing737-400model=panel=sound=texture=deltakb_checklists=Boeing737-400_checkkb_reference=Boeing737-400_refatc_id=N700MSatc_airline=Deltaatc_flight_number=1123ui_manufacturer=Boeingui_type=737-400ui_variation=Delta[fltsim.1]title=Boeing 737-400 Paint1sim=B…

Hello,I am looking to finally upgrade to XP from 98SE and have some questions for you.1. What is the difference between Academic version and OEM version XP? My wife is a college student so we qualify for it. Is the Academic version exactly like the regular OEM and upgrade versions?2. Would I have any difficulty in getting the

FS9 and the dreaded random crashes that are more or less un-traceable,well folks, I was running a flight tonight Off-Line, so nothing else was running, I even disconnected my router and disabled my anti virus (spysweeper / avast) and yet I still got two crashes a few Min's apart, the first one you will see the details for in the screen shot, the second one gave the information below, which to me might as well be in Swahili, anyone else had any of these ?thanks.AppName: fs9.exe AppVer: 9.1.0.40901 ModName: d3d9.dllModVer: 5.3.2600.2180 Offset: 0008798bthis is from the first crash,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/104721.jpg

I have compressed my FS9 folder. I have measured the time to load a flight in USA Megascenery area to 9 minutes. I didn't timed this when the folder was uncompressed but my impression is that it was lower. Alsi I think that the schenery updates slower now. Rectangular squares in the scenery is visible for longer times. It seems that compressing the FS9 folder has decreased performence. The opposite of what oher has reported. Could it be so?I haveAthlon XP 2400+512 M DDR RAMRadeon 9800 Pro 128 M Win XP

Was looking at Switzerland Pro, is there a posting, site etc.. anywhere that has a List of Landmarks, Sights, and any other interesting places listed, with their locations?Would be good to see what's included for reference. Other than that, the scenery looks fantastic.

Two simple questions. If I want to change the default zoom in the VC, do I have to edit each aircraft's panel.cfg individually, or is there some global override somewhere? Is there a way to have the spot plane view default to fast transitions, instead of gradual?thanksStephen

Hi all, Big storm in Pa. and surrounding states. Using the new Airbus 380 and appropriate panel (found in Avsim Library under Yesterday's Hot Files), and Active Sky 2004, I've enjoyed flying from Allentown to Cleveland and on to KORD in Chicago. Hardly any visiblity at 10,000ft. and below right down to the runway. Perfect weather for practicing ILS landings, and what a feeling of accomplishment when you shoot that glideslope and the descend to the runway RIGHT IN FRONT of your nose. You better be using your AP correctly. The snow is incredible today, and the winds are more than a simple challenge. What a great hobby!

Hi everyone,We're now conducting an informal practice session, batons and all, for the Team AVSIM entry to the Round the World Race. As you may know, AVSIM has won the race for the past two years--and we hope to be competitive again this year. One of our secrets to success is the terrific membership here at the AVSIM forum. So you are part of this race whatever you do.The Race is set for February 20th. Team AVSIM will compete with FlightSim.com and Sim Outhouse. We have plenty of time to get sharp--and from first efforts, we are going to need the time. The current session is to get everyone (re)acquainted with the special procedures designed for the RTWR. And to practice …

I am creating some little video clips of external views of aircraft to share with some friends who use a different simulator than FS9. An example can be seen at http://tinyurl.com/5klk3 . This is in Quicktime format since the folks I am sharing with are Mac users. I use Activecamera and pan around the aircraft with the middle mouse button held down (gradual transitions in spot view turned off). No matter how smoothly I try to pan with the mouse I get some little jerky stops and starts from the mouse. Is there a way to program in a path for the "camera" to follow so that it is all done in software? Forgive me if this is the incorrect place to post this but I am just …

At long last - and it was worth waiting for! The dynamic shine has transformed the exterior model of this a/c. I was always a little disappointed with it -- but now it is great . Other extras too like clickable window visors in the VC , etc -- but the shine is the best part.Barry

With my internet connection down, I've been using the ms default weather themes. When I do a snow theme and fly any plane with a VC, the snow drops far away from the airplane, I can actually see the circle infront of me. It looks extremely bad... is this a known issue and is there a fix? Thanks!

Hello all :)I've looked all over the place but without any luck!I dont like the default floating flares that pass for runway/taxiway edge lights in FS9 and was wondering if there was a freeware fix that created lights like this:http://www.oksolar.com/0_n_cart/images/11079_large.jpgI did find lights like that in an excellent freeware airport-scenery upgrade called Almaty (download ID:42247) but of course it applied only to that particular scenery. Is there one floating around that will apply lights like that to the entire FS9 airport world?Thanx!!!

Hello all,Sorry if this has been asked before, and I know it has, but I was not able to find anything solid by searching the forum. The problem is simply that after I shut down the sim, FS9.exe remains hanging in the background eating memory, and effectively prevents programs like FSAutostart from restarting the services it has stopped. I need to manually kill the exe via the task manager every time. This was something that just started, I can't connect it to any addition of hardware or software.

I have posted some pictures I took over the weekend from a Mooney over Snowdonia in the UK.They are a good example of snow on mountains to compare to what we have in the sim.If anyone has the full satellite scenery with UK VFR terrain and can locate any of these moutains it would be interesting to see how close Visual flight rendition is to the real :-) ?Peterhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=183643&page=http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=183646&page=

Hey All,With the coming of the 3rd(?) RTW race and a recent post about going around the world I thought it would be interesting to ask how many of you have done the RTW thing? What aircraft? and did you put the RTW "adventure" on a website?I think it would be interesting to "accumulate" those experiences in on thread as I'm toying with the idea of trying it myself. So if you have how about a quick answer to the following:What aircraft? How long did it take you?Did you document it on a website? (If you did provide the link)In addition if you started and didn't finish - why or why not? Thanks for any and all replies!Takle Care! -Ed-

I received a Samsung Syncmaster 712N LCD monitor for Christmas and have noticed a slight stuttering that was not a problem with my Viewsonic CRT. This monitor has a 12 ms response which I thought would be "fast enough" to prevent this. The stuttering only seems to appear during taxi (lots of scenery?). Could it be the "load" on my video card - a PNY, nVidea 5200 AGP, 128 MB DDR, set to 1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz (native)? If anyone else used this monitor with an older G-force nVidea card what have been your experiences? Thanks for your input.AMD Athlon 3000512 mb DDRAsus A7V8X-X GLB

I was wondering how all of you feel about the Windows SP2 and fs9. I am considering installing the SP2 because Cox has warned me about possible hackers trying to take over the computer and put viruses in etc. I am also having backup issues but that's another story which I will have to talk to tech support about before I even attempt to install the service pack.I was just wondering about problems and positive inputs about using fs9 and the service pack. What should I expect and are there other kinds of upgrades such as a newer version of direct x and videocard driver updates after the installation.Any comments are welcome. I would appreciated input.Thank You

Hi,Is there a file I can download from Project AI which installs all AFCAD's by default, instead of me downloading and installing for the airports I want individually? There are a few files, but I'm not sure which is the correct one...Thanks,Pranav

Hi all-I want to make a few adjustments to the Lear but am not quite sure how to go about doing it. I want to make it so the braking isn't quite so abrupt and to also make the pitch sensitivity a bit less. Between that and the slop in my joystick, it can be a bit of a headache. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.ps. I also installed the reality gauges a few days ago. What an improvement! I highly recommend them. Thanks,Mark

ITAWT-ITAWA-PUDYE-TTATT . How's that for an approach? This is the RNAV (GPS) for RWY 16 at KPSM. It's nice to see that someone in government has a sense of humor. (The IAP can be found here: http://www.myairplane.com/databases/approa...fs/00678R16.PDF )Doug
