    I am using FlightKeeper. I always loose points because the beacon light is posted as not lighted when I start the flight from cold. I do switch the Beacon/strobe switch (one switch for both lights).Is there something I can do to have the beacon active ?Here is the aircraft cfg for lights /learjet[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landinglight.0 = 3, -39.00, -23.6, -0.25, fx_navredm ,light.1 = 3, -39.00, 23.6, -0.25, fx_navgrem ,light.2 = 3, -63.63, 0.00, 9.20, fx_navwhi ,light.3 = 1, -37.00, 0.00, -2.59, fx_beaconb ,light.4 = 2, -36.97, 0.00, -2.62, fx_strobe ,light.5 = 1, -63.05, 0.00, 9.75, fx_beaconh ,light.6 = 5, -29.7,…

  2. Please forgive me if I should've found this information elsewhere, but I've searched and am quite surprised not to have found anything.First, can anyone tell me what the aircraft is called that Howard Hughes uses in "The Aviator" to romance Katherine Hepburn? And second, is there a downloadable version of that plane for FS9? What a gorgeous plane! (Yes, I'm aware that the Grumman Goose is somewhat similar, but the one in the movie looked even better). And while I'm asking, are there any downloadable models of the silver "flush rivets" racing plane, the spy plane, and/or the Hercules ("Spruce Goose")?

If I am not mistaken, in the last few days separation in flight levels above 29,000 feet have been reduced from 2,000 feet to 1,000 feet by the FAA in the United States. I certainly am ready to stand corrected if I misinterpreted this issue. All of my real world aviation experience is in the light stuff well below the altitudes in question, but I am curious from a FlightSim standpoint.I have been a little surprised that no post has been made regarding this (And I may have overlooked it).Just wondered if this is going to be ignored in our Sim world, particularly in the next version of MS assuming that it is well underway?Current FS9 ATC, VatSim, and a number of other applic…

Hi All!Today, my CH Products Flight Sim Yoke 'fried' again. This is the third time this has happened to me over the last year. It seems that static electricity zapped my yoke. I was cycling the views using a button on the joystick and felt a small zap. Once this happens, the hat switch button gets stuck in the up position. Luckily, the yoke is under the two year warranty, but I have no yoke for about three weeks. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or better yet, what can I do to prevent this.Peter Anastacio

Hi,OK, heres the deal, even though I have the pitot heat on, at random occasions, when flying in icing conditions, I will still get the IAS guage dropping to zero indicating icing?.Am I the only one who gets this?, can be bloody annoying ;)Dan.

In the process of looking for some more scenery addition to liven up the Alaska/Ketchikan area, I came across some pictures of Nightwolf Air Service. I think this is from FS2000 but works in FS9.Just wondering if anyone could direct me to where I could find this scenery or if anyone still has it, if I could get it from you. Thanks in advanceDarryl

I read a book about FS navigation (by Bill Stack). One example wasto simply follow roads. There was an exercise about.I find this very difficult. I often pick the wrong road ore get astray. And still I have tried it were I have FSGenesis 38m mesh andthe American data roads rails streams. I also tried in a USA Megascenery area NC. I find the AD roads more distinct than the Megascenery roads.I also wonder if this even is allowed. I think I have heard of guy who tried to navigae by simply following roads with the aid of a road atlas, and he lost his certificate because of that. Could that be so?

  8. Y'know, it never ends. I mean, it just NEVER ends. All the tweaking in the world with generations of MSFS and add-ons for 7 years, and something ALWAYS goes wrong....eventually. I installed the new POSKY 742 in MAS Kargo colors. Gorgeous stuff. Married it up with Massimo's classic panel. Great. Lined up at WMKK (KLIA) 32R, set flaps, fuel, radios. Super. Activated FSMeteo 6.4 and guess what? Rudder gets jammed in "noon" position on takeoff roll and I just avoid crashing on rotation ! I use FSUIPC registered and MS FFB2 stick. They both work great, I know. But it seems that activating FSMeteo caused the rudder to go out. Or it upset FSUIPC which upset the rud…

Hey! I am trying to record a demonstration in FS 2004. I had Snap It, but when I record in full screen, it minimizes FS 2004. I want to know if anyone out there knows of a good program that will allow me to record a demonstration in an aircraft.THANKS!!Anthony

The other day I wanted to do some low flying but the controller would not give me permission as the airport was ifr. Being the stickler I am for realism, I asked for ifr clearance. I was given clearance, and had 30 minutes to make contact. Because I wanted to fly low and go where I wanted, I just didn't bother, which allowed me to fly to my heart's content, until of course I wanted to land, in which case I had to file an ifr plan. But instead I went to an uncontrolled airport, and just transmitted my intentions and landed. Sometimes I'll just cancel my ifr plan, of which atc asks me to confirm, I do, and then fly to my hearts content. I'm just wondering. In real life, wou…

ok, i filed a flight plan IFR-GPS from atlanta to miami but started on the runway and got clearance. i flipped the nav/gps switch to gps but i'm not getting any info on the HSI. everything is there if i open the GPS but i just want to use the HSI and not the map. why isn't any information showing on the HSI. do i need to put a VOR freq. in the nav radio? i didn't think i needed to do that. by the way, i did this last week but can't remember what i did to get the info to come up in the HSI. am i making sense here? hope so. i was thinking there would be some sort of name or initials of the destination airport like kmia or something but there's nothing that relates to the fl…

I also posted this at the Flight1 forums but I figured someone here might have experienced the same thing and have a solution. Mods: feel free to delete if you consider this off-topic.Just purchased the above model. I get through the commerce system and it installs without any problems. I reboot my computer as instructed and try to load the aircraft in FS2004. However when I select it and click OK, a message saying it was unable to load F1_C172R.gau repetedly pops up and as soon as I click OK the same message pops up again and again and again...It seems this is related to the copy protection. Flight1, being overly paranoid, have built in copy protection into the .gau file…

Hi all, This is my first post here, but I've been browsing for a long time and this site has been a great resource for me. Now onto my problem. ;] I'm using dual displays for an engineering simulation. FS2004 is running in a maximized window on the main display and I have a custom HDD application running on the secondary display (touchscreen LCD). The HDD application requires user interaction, but whenever FS2004 loses focus, the sound also stops (although the simulation continues and the aircraft is still controllable). I would like to have sound in FS2004 even when I use my addon program. I searched but did not find any information on this. I saw no options …

Dear Simmers (Especially airliner Simmers)We have the following upcoming airliners in the making. I have listed them in the order which I believe they will be released. I have no knowledge or otherwise it is just my assumption. Please give me your comments regarding your most anticipated airliner and when you think you may be able to fly it...Here goes:-B 767 (Level D)-B 747-400 (PMDG)-B 777 (PSS)-L1011 (Pilots)-B 757 (PSS)-Tu-204 (Igfly)-DC-10 (Air Bleed)-MD-11 (PMDG)-B 767 (Captain Sim)Any of the above being released is an instant purchase for me...But it is impossible to guess/stimate when any would be released due to the inherent complexities of the above...Gentlemen,…

This panel is amazing but I'm having a problem switching ATS system on. For some reason the autothrottle ARM switch never engages. All the rest (even INS navigation) is working fine.Is there some step I'm missing? I've read the manual a lot of times but can't really get through this.I'm using the most recent package with SGA model and tweaked airfiles for the panel. (v3.0)thanks for any suggestion.

Hi there. Lastnight I loaded up flightsim and noticed something really strange, the storbe lights on my aircraft as well as all other planes were flashing really fast. Along with the planes the radio tower lights did the same thing. It was as if the simulation rate were at 8x, thats how fast they were flashing. I found this very unrealistic and frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas on how to fix it? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rod

  21. For some reason, the Numbers Keyboard "+" and "-" keys no longer activate the detents (i.e. "CL", "FLX/MCT", "TO-GA")for any of my PSS Airbuses. It has been a while since I tried these birds and I may be missing the obvious somewhere, but never had any problem with this feature before. Everything else including FMC control seems to work fine. I am overlooking what addresses this in the manual. Is there an assignment I am missing in a config.file somewhere?Anybody crossed this bridge and have any idea what the solution to this problem is?Thanks:RTH

Hi there,My apologies if this has been posted before, but this is driving me mad. When reducing collective and pitching the nose up to land I get a 'whomp whomp' sound. I think it might be a stalling sound as it goes away a low speeds, but I can't recall if this is a default MS sound or whether something else is causing it (active camera?). I have been through all of my wav files and can't find it. Does anybody else suffer from this?best regards,Damunn

Regarding the heavies, if the situation is near zero zero visibility does the pilot typically hand fly the approach all the way to the runway, or do they typicall let the autopilot AP mode fly most of the way taking over when the runway is in sight - or is it a combo of both. I ask because I've been practicing 3/4 mile visibility approaches manually and I have gotten pretty comfortable to the point that I can maintain glideslope and localizer all the way down to the point where I can transition to visual flight, I usually practice in 16 knot cross, head, and tail, winds. The aircraft I am using right now is the CX750 from EagleSoft. But how do the pros do it? Thanks!!

  24. Being a VFR person mostly, I'm very picky about FS scenery. This means I can not fly everywhere, only where there's high-detail scenery coverage. Most of the time, these high-quality areas are offered as complete 'packages' offering improved mesh, roads, terrain features etc. in the same product either by very clever manual work or by using photographic textures. These sell for anything from $30 to $130. Some examples are Megascenery, Switzerland Pro and Misty Fjords.I always find default scenery too boring to bother with. Therefore it's always big news when a new product such as Misty Fjords or Megascenery PNW is released because they open up a new area to do my virtual …
