Anyone have any suggestions regarding a sim1.dll error. I get this error any time I try to go to an airport in Illinois. I have tried deleting the fs9.cfg file. I also removed 2 pieces of add-on mesh that I had installed prior to the error starting. I can start at other airports, but cannot go to KORD, KPWK, etc.. any ideas??? The flight starts to load and then crashes at about 95-99 percent loaded. I have searched the forum, and also tried new video drivers, but no luck.

SullyI really hope that someone can help me.While taking a flight last night I must have hit a wrong key and have now lost my ATIS scroll across the top of my screen.Not only does it affect the ATIS portion of the flight,it also has stopped the scrolling across the top with ActiveSky working.I also today installed the update for FS2004.I try to take a flight and I get this error message that says the FSUIPC that I have is not compatiable with the Update and I should get and updated FSUIPC! How do I do that? I'm not really computer smart,but I guess I'm grounded til I somehow work this out.

Has anyone ever adjusted the sensitivity of the trim for an aircraft? Maybe in a CFG file? Im using a CH Yoke and find that when I use the button on the yoke to apply trim it gives me more of a turn on the trim wheel then I want. I only have 40 hours in a real skyhawk thus far but I have comfortable control of the trim wheel in the real thing. I know its hard to duplicate it on a sim but if I could get less of a turn on the trim wheel in the sim when I press the mapped button on the yoke I think I can trim the airplane the way I want when flight simming.

Greetings,WHen I begin a new flight (FS9) my plane at the gate begins to roll. Not slow, but it will become to fast to taxi. It also happens while I wait for takeoff, I do not even have to increase the throttle to taxi. This just started a few flights ago, I thougth it was limited to the big jets, but when I flew a CRJ-200 it also went right through the terminal. I have removed the joystick, and it had no effect.PeaceBrad

If I use the keyboard to "Create a Flight" or "Select a Flight" and to change the various settings, FS9 loads up correctly and I can use the Mouse in the 2D or Virtual Cockpit and even on the Pulldown Menus without any problems..... BUT if I try to do the same things with the Mouse, then FS9 crashes the system and reboots. I don`t have this problem with FS2002 (also on my Hard Drive) or on any other programme. Additionally, most times after clicking on the Desk Top icon I get the Splash Screen plus Database build (and if I had previously installed new scenery the EZ-VFR runs) and then the splash screen disappears but FS9 doesn`t appear - I have to click the icon a second …

I have a whole stack of commercial addon on aircraft but it is suprising that Always end up selecting either the PMDG 737, the Aeroworx Kingair or an old time favourite the Golden Eagle 420C.Having read the revue on the Reality XP jet 2 addon I added this to the Golden Eagle 420C and was amazed how this brought a new lease of life to this dating but excellent addon aircraft.That brought me to a question are you like me in the fact that you have many addons but keep coming back to the old favourites.What are the aircraft that you always end up flying?What aircraft would you like to see given a refurbishment, a brand new outlook or update and what would those be.The Golden …

I have the Bonanza V35, the Centurion, the Dakota, mentor and Cherokee, IMHO the quality of the later 4 is as good any any other, but to me the V35 seems a little long in the tooth, but still deserves a place in my hanger because of its unique feature. I also have the Dreamfleet Archer (while good this is also getting old not having all the FS9 aatributes). I am considering getting the Carenado Archer and Bonanza F33A to complete the set; what i wish to know is how these 2 planes compare to the quality of all the others, are they as good as the more recent planes like the Mentor and Cherokee or are they just old models like the Bonanza V35?Due to it low price (and it is d…

I have been an avid user of FRAPS.....however I have been trying to get a better visual recording of my Flight Sim for a professional Video that I am trying to put together. I have read an excerpt that you can get a much better recording using a camcorder, TV-Out Video card, and a FireWire cable. I have been trying to achieve this feat for a few days with not much succes. Can anyone with some video card/camcorder experience point me in the right direction. OK friends, what did I do? Can't load FS from the icon or FS Sky World. Worked yesterday. My kids played today (they didn't have school) so perhaps they messed something up. The FS Sky World kept telling me about something about Archive Attribute and I'm totally at a loss. Any help for the computer-impaired would be appreciated.

Please forgive me if this has already been covered. I am no PC expert but what happens in the case where, for example, I install all of the Global terain mesh from this: http://www.simviation.com/fsdterrainsrtm.htm which covers the world, and then install other terain mesh from the countless downloads I have. Does it wipe the first one out? Does it have an impact on performance? Does it improve scenery quality? Guys, not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes. Firstly, please assume I know how to install a panel - I've been using FS in all its guises for years, and have many different addons installed with no problems previously, so I HOPE it's not me! LOL Just yesterday, for no reason I can fathom, none of my add-on panels that include XML gauges will display those particular gauges. GAU's - no problem, but XML - just that ugly black blob. I have re-installed FS9, and re-installed one or two of the panels to test them out, with no luck. I either get the blob, or FS9 crashes to desktop. I have FS Water made by Flight1 and I seen somewhere that you can combine water textures from FS Water with other water textures. I would like to take the water reflections from the freeware download Vilk's water (vater) and use them with the rest of the FS Water textures. How would I do that?

After the dust settled and I performsys recovery, I found this when I tried to boot up FS9The file DEM 4Km is corrupt or damaged.please re install FS9 to repair GULP..will I lose all my files I.e. a/c scenery etc if I Reinstall fs 9 over the existing..Any suggestions?ThanksMike
