I'm trying to figure out the differences. I have a new computer running Win10 64 bit that runs FSX flawlessly at max settings including scenery LOD at 9.5 and high frame rates. I run it with a UHD TV for a monitor and FSX set to match. It looks great. This is my work computer. My old work computer is now my primary FSX system, running Win10 32 bit, which I need to run my TRC472 panel. Both have relatively cutting edge processors and comparable memory. The system running the 32 bit OS is plagued with OOM (out of memory) problems. Was browsing freeware addons the other day, and found Matthew Derr's new KABQ scenery, just updated back in January. How great is this! I've always thought that KABQ should get the payware treatment, but this is nearly as good.. Anyway. soo I install, and what do I find? The ugly default terminal building clipping through the new beautiful terminal. Everything else was as it should be, no extra control tower, no runways sitting underneath or just above; even the jetways and AI parking were in the right spots, but that terminal building was there like a monolith. I use the FSX Borderless program on 3-monitor setup and I now would not be without it. However, when I use Alt + Tab to select from programs operating (e.g. FSX, FSE, ASN) FSX minimizes and the screen goes momentarily black. Previously, FSX stayed up while a small horizontal window appeared, allowing me to tab to the desired program. I don't know what happened, but I prefer the second example. Can someone advise a setting to restore things ? Many thanks / Les Parson

I have searched the FSX forum unsuccessfully for solutions on the subject. I have been using FSX more lightly than FS9, mostly because my computer was only a dual core. Since building a new rig in October with an Ivy Bridge i7 and Windows 7 64, I've had a lot more opportunity to get a feel for FSX. One thing that I have notice (old or new computer) is that FSX has an unrealistic ground drag, essentially with all aircrafts. Some are way worse than others, but the problem of excessive drag or friction is pervasive. I do have pedals, and yes, they are properly calibrated and are not the source of drag. Hi when i am not using scenery for a current flight should i a: delete it from scenery library then re-add when its needed? OR b: click the tick so it goes away and is inactive but still in the scenery library? Does option b increase fsx loading times?

Hi folks, I have recently installed the Majestic Dash Q400 and very much like to learn to fly this bird. The bird will show up in P3D v3 and, apart from the working of the ailerons and elevator (in words not responding to my saitec yoke and pedals), all seems to be working correctly. I have seen various messages on this topic and have tried all suggestions however still no luck. Anybody any idea on what seems to be causing this for me????????????? I am still a FSX novice... I am using FSX Gold Edition (W/ Acceleration)...Windows 7 Professional...64 bit. I've just installed Traffic 360, and I'm not seeing any traffic. I am reading the Traffic 360 instructions. It is suggesting the installation of FSX SDK to set up the Traffic Toolbox. Is there anyone on this forum using Traffic 360 with FSX/ Windows 7?

Just ran across a freeware written by Bernd Laass to convert flightplans for the Dash 8 Q400. You can get it here: http://up2sky.dyndns.org/FPRConverter/index.php The readme says: I tried it out exporting a XML from my Flightsim Commander and using this tool to convert it for my Q400. It worked very well and saves me a lot of tedious typing.

I just downloaded and installed the T-45C aircraft from the Avsim library today. Glad to see the altimeter now appears to work correctly over previous versions. My question is why does the attitude indicator (ADI) appear to be upside down (dark/light instead of the normal light/dark) on all other aircraft.? I think I have seen somewhere that Russian aircraft instruments are inverted too which has caused crashes when they ( Russian trained) pilots started flying "Western" style aircraft. I have seen pictures of earlier model T-45's with conventional l panels, (Non-glass) that have the normal light for the sky and dark for the ground ADI's. Also ref in the enclo…

Hi I too have just purchased this aircraft and still getting to grips with it. All I can say is how I managed to get the guns working.....after doing the necessary by loading the weapon etc.... in the air, master weapons on....switch to A/G .....then on the assigned key...(letter j ) press once and you should see the GUN symbol with the ammunition status (300). You should have a trigger on your control Joy stick ( Button 1 ) normally. By pressing the trigger (button 1), you should see the rounds hit the target and the counter of ammunition dwindle in front of your eyes! Try it over water (easier to see) Make sure the letter (j) is assigned to " HOIST CABLE (LOWER) in…

Hi Does anybody have any suggestion to a Jeddah Airport scenery that is fully compatible with AES FSX. I am aware of Bdoaviation but I do not believe Oliver in Aerosoft is willing to place it into AES looking at the request lists is seems to have been their a long time and ignored. Thanks

A lot of knowledge here so i'll try here . I thought maybe it had some thing to do with my Go-flight modules but i disconnected it and it's still the same -- with all aircraft . I put in a code say 2200 but as soon as i put them in they go to zero right away and won't hold the digits. As far as i know i didn't play with any thing and totally stumped on this and i don't really want to go on Vatsim with this problem . Any one ever hear of this ?

Hello everyone, I have seriously been considering purchasing a yearlong subscription to navigraph for charts, as it is nice to have information such as MDA, DH, and Acceleration/Deceleration heights. However, I am struggling to justify it. Right now, I can quite easily find free charts for most airports, yet I seldom touch them. I fly mostly heavy metal, and these planes come with everything I could need! I get the route on the display and fly it. It is quite rare that I ever need to look at a chart and I have never even touched an enroute chart. So what are your opinions on this? Is it worth it? And how will I use the charts?

Running Win 10. Everything is firing on all cylinders EXCEPT that my aircraft icon isn't appearing on the Plan G map, the latter being displayed on my secondary monitor. What is amiss? Thanks. I've selected the Simconnect radio button therein.

The title says it all really. I hardly ever fly FSX, as unlike in FS9 I have to choose between having my 2nd. monitor black as soon as I go to full screen (in what way was that an advance over FS9, I can't help wonder), or use FS-SIMtimizer, which, not being true full screen of course, makes the already slightly noticeable scenery drawing lag as you pan in spot view much, much worse, with clouds in particularly breaking up as they are redrawn. It's only milliseconds probably, but the general effect is not good, to say the least. Do I have any other choices? Hi, I purchased REX soft clouds to compliment my REX ess+odrive and in my queries prior to buying it I understood that soft clouds will choose on its own the best texture set based on the real weather at the location of FSX. Now I start REX ess+odrive and import the fplan. I am then opening soft clouds but I do not see any where to click so that REX chooses the best soft clouds for the weather...what am I missing...I see all sets of clouds and I can choose which one to install but this is not what I thought the program will do. Can someone please advise...what i want is that REX chooses on its own the best textures from soft clouds to inject in fsx like…

I just installed and set-up Rex's Weather Architect in FSX. I love the product but I have one quick question for anyone else that owns it. I am finding that after setting up flights in Weather Architect that I have multiple directories created called "PMDG" in different places on my PC. I have found the directory so far on my root drive and in my FSX folder. They have a sub-directory called WX and some wx files inside of it. I have not told the application to create the directories and nor do I really want them (especially in my root drive folder). Anyone else experience this or know a solution. Thanks.

I don't recall how long it took me to become proficient in the Boeing or various other aircraft (e,g, ATR72), but this Dash is a handful. It looks beautiful and the overall package is amazing though. I'm trying to watch videos and read some of the documents. Most of them aren't very descriptive of certain things. More or less, learning the checklist items for certain phases of flight aren't a concern to me. Yes they're way more involved than the 737 NG, or many other aircraft, but the ground items will come with time and don't need to be rushed. I don't even think the stuff one does after takeoff or during approach is that bad, in terms of fuel pumps, lights, …

Hello, i'm encoutering this black flash square on the airport ground before i take off : Any idea where does it comes from ? As you can see my FPS are pretty good, and it may appear randomly whatever airport im taking off (scene or not) Its just happening on the close texture around the plane like the example t.
