Hey guys! Good day! I'm just a newbie here. I just want to ask if which is more realistic when it comes to flight dynamics and the controls. The Captain sim 757 or the Quality sim 757? I know that captain sim, hands down, has way better details when comes to its cockpit and the interior, but it cost a lot of frames and I'm aware that it frequently crashes while in the middle of the game. So I just came down to one criteria: Realism.

Last night I flew to KEUG in the Dash 8. Now it's a airport I've never flown in or out of. Well, FSX had data that is so outdated, even my 2007 paper charts reflect the new runways. So I downloaded a new AFCAD and hope it'll be accurate. I know KRNO is off in some way too because I flew the 34L ILS and it was not right at all. I know KORD is all screwed up but have been told the changes are too frequent to keep up with. So post your known fixed airports here, even those that are only updated to reflected a change from FSX to post-market. :smile:

Hello! (Sorry if wrong forum) I am thinking about upgrading to FSX, but i have a few questions, that i'd like answered. For starters, could these specs run FSX on Low/Medium settings at decent FPS with the 'GX, or the iFly 737? GPU: AMD Radeon 5400 CPU: Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60Ghz RAM: 2 Gb OS: Windows 7 Ultimate And is 29.75 Gb enough harddrive space for a couple of aircraft, and a few average (freeware, or payware) sceneries? Can anyone offer advice for this project? I am interested in purchasing the FS2004 IFLY 737, but as I intend to make a panel with all rotary encoders, switches and buttons, I need to know if this can be interfaced to FS2004. The controls would be nav, comms, selector switches for switching between screens, AP controls etc. If so how would this be done, i.e. Arduino or Bodnar Unit through FSUIPC or some other method. I have contacted the IFLY company but they are unable to assist and I can't even post on the FSUIPC site. Thanks Peter.

Hi, I am just returning to FSX now that I have more free time. I presently have FSX-MS installed on a small SSD that my PC boots from. However I want to install my scenery files onto a larger internal hard drive, is this possible? I don't mind slow loading scenery when I am flying. thanks in advance

My friend and I have been enjoying good times in “shared cockpit” mode using FSX Boxed edition, Teamspeak, and the Alabeo C404 Titan. One day he would Host the session, the next time I would. He was using Windows 10, I’m using Windows 7. Recently, he did a complete re-load of Windows 10 software and FSX boxed additions (plus add-ons). Since then, whenever he tries to Host a session, I cannot connect to him. If I Host, he can connect to me as normal. We’ve tried to troubleshoot this. The right router ports are open, we’ve looked at firewall settings, but we must have missed something. I haven’t changed anything in my setup so we’re thinking it’s something that happened on…

I use FSXse with Win7 and DirectX 9 For some months I have been using Meigs, Lukla, Friday Harbor and Kilimanjaro Airport. I bought these from Steam and they all were working fine. Then, all of a sudden, I am getting error messages for each of the four (2 error messages for each of the two parts of Lukla). The one for Meigs KCGX reads: Scenery. CFG File error. Local Scenery directory (KCGX\Scenery). In Scenery area 142 not found. The error messages for the two Lukla files, Friday Harbor and Kilimanjaro are similar. Please help me. Olbalbal

So I was doing a flight from Seattle to San Fran yesterday in the PMDG 777 and just before touchdown, I kept hearing an error sound but no windows popped up or anything so I proceeded with landing and things went smoothly except I would hear that dinging sound effect go off. Upon further investigation, I learned that FSUIPC was giving me a "Free memory is very low" error sound effect. I have a pretty decent system to run FSX SE. Hello all, out of the blue I get this message "Flight Simulator CANOT run without a valid SCNERY.CFG, please, uninstall & reinstall Flight Simulator,. I've got this irritating feature on my system now. Just as if I've altered an active scenery area, the scenery database keeps rebuilding at every startuo, except I didn't I've disabled all but the default scenery areas with SceneryConfig Editor, and the issue stil persists. I'm painfully aware that something propably got changed in my World\scenery or Global\scenery, but I'm not able to figure it out. I wonder if there are any way to intercept which element this process actually grabs, through a log file or something? Cheers,

Around six weeks ago, I decided to purchase Orbx FTX Global Base and FTX Global Vector, after years of GEX North America and UTX USA and Canada. I also had REX Essentials Plus Overdrive. Everything ran extremely smooth with no micro stutters, hardly any crashes on my I7-4790K with a three year old Sapphire HD7970 VaporX GPU in DX9 mode. I had bad tearing issues, which were resolved by purchasing a BenQ XL2720Z monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate. Of course the uninstall of UTX and GEX did not go perfectly, and I had to reinstall FSX on my wiped SSD drive. Orbx Global and Vector look and run great. I added REX 4 and Soft Clouds. Hey,Guys and gals(?)...Been using SCE and have over 2000 entries in my scenery.cfg file...All of a sudden after my last entry (2090) FSX gives me a window saying FSX won,t handle more than about 1,000 entries and shuts down.......I,ve had over 1500 for 2-3 years with no issues...anybody got any ideas???

When I tried to start FSX tonight, the "Current Aircraft" did not show in the Free Flight, Preview Screen (default C172). All the menu screens appear to be working. When I go to the cockpit view in VC I get an enlarged view that will not shrink. In the 2d view I get the main panel, but no real outside view of the outside scenery. The aircraft does not show in the "spot" view. I have deleted the fsx.cfg and let it rebuild, but there was no change. The only change since my last flight was updating PFPX. I haven't tried updating the driver since it has been flawless so far. I'm running FSX SP2 with Win7-64 with video driver 353.62. blaustern

Hello! Finally I am a happy FSUIPC4 license user! There is one thing I am a little confused about when using it with PMDG or Majestic. I have seen in a youtube tutorial that I should "enable controllers" in FSX when using FSUIPC with the PMDG NGX or 777. Normaly I should turn it off so that FSUIPC can take controll. Is this right? What is about the majestic dash8 pro version? Also turning on fsx controllers? Are there any other birds you know which need to turn it on? Thank you very much!

I read, not so long ago, that someone was having trouble with poor performance and this was discovered to be a particular type of AI aircraft. I can't remember which one or what program, it may have been an Imbraer jet or something similar. Anyway, I have noticed a few situations where my framerate/performance is acceptable but drops through the floor when, say for example, I turn the AI slider setting up from maybe 15% to 25% Under normal situations this amount of increase would cost perhaps a couple of frames at best. An example would be at Orbx's default Heathrow, sat at the end of runway 9 (?) with frames set at 25% and the performance is absolutely hideous, around 13…

I have a quick question regarding this aircraft. It's as simple as will it run with FSX Steam Edition? It says that it requires FSX Acceleration or SP2. From my understanding FSX:SE does have all the packs included but I've found that other addons that I've tried installing would fail because it says I don't have Acceleration or SP2... I just don't want to waste money on an addon that won't work...

Hi all I am seeking some help please I use the Majestic Dash8Q400 Pro version I would like to be able to activate the various switches that I currently use my mouse to operate I have 2 x GoFlight RP48 and 2 x GoFlight GF-T8 switch panels Is there anyway that I can use these switch panels to operate my lights, pressurisation switches and all the other switches that I currently have to use my mouse to operate? Hi guys, so I picked up FSX-SE right after release when it was super cheap but have not installed it because I had a fully functioning "Gold edition" with all my addons configured. Now I'm looking at probably reinstalling Windows from scratch to go from 8.1 to 10 and figured while I'm doing that I might as well swap over to FSX-SE. Problem is I'm not sure what all is compatible. Also, in the past I followed NickN's recommendations such as adding some line that were missing from the scenery.cfg file. I would like to make a change so that one or two a/c I have do not accelerate so much as I descend - it is almost impossible to get down to the altitude and speed required for landing without using spoilers all the way down: if I try to descend without spoilers at much more than 1000ft/min, the a/c eventually reach overspeed. I tried increasing the parasite_drag_scalar and induced_drag_scalar values in the aircraft.cfg, but that seems to have had little effect and I am not sure what other parameters there to try tweaking. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.
