I'm wondering if someone knows of any good-modeled civil or military Russian Aircrafts? (Besides Bear Studios, which is marvelous). These could be freeware of payware... Would appreciate it if anyone knows of any.

I am looking at the Flight1 GTN 750 and am curious to know if it works with all aircrafts in FSX, or are there aircrafts which don't allow a 2d pop up. tony

New to the Steam Edition of FSX. I see conflicting information on tweaking. All the post seem a year or two old. As of today does it need any?

I've been wondering if its much better to move FSX into an external drive. I have one reason already, and that's if my computer gets hacked or something terrible happens to it. Is performance a key issue when installed to the computer's drive? I was thinking if FSX would run better on an external because the whole drive is just dedicated to FSX. Any other reasons why FSX should be on an external?

I have been out of the FSX cockpit for a couple of years and have forgotten what add-ons I had...old age is creeping up on me! Is there an add-on that will detect and indicate what FSX add-ons are present? AFAIK, FSX doesn't have a "mods" page like many video games where you can see what mods you have and select/deselect them. I think the only way that I can see what add-ons I have is to go through the FSX folders looking for specific add-on folders, but since I've forgotten what I have, I'd have trouble telling one thing from another. My particular concern is with scenery add-ons. Would they all be in the FSX scenery folder? What would a vanilla FSX scenery folde…

I am experiencing an unusual scenery problem which I have yet to stumble on a resolution. Hopefully, someone here has had simimlar problems and have successfully resolved them, or perhaps can use their knowledge of FSX and it's addons to determine a possible cause. My smaller inland lakes appear to be frozen over, even in the middle of the hottest summer days. See the attached picture. Hello everybody, I am a little bit stuck with this issue. My FSX freezes around Warsaw location (EPWA and vicinity) for few seconds (3-5s) the process gets inactive then resumes and everything seems fine for the next 2-3 minutes and freezes again. (The task manager shows no other process that could be causing it). I've looked through the internet for similar cases, found some but it didn't get me any closer. I just can't find any info anywhere about whether there is a possibility of getting touchdown smoke effects working on this aircraft. There was a post around 3 years ago on the MJC forums stating they were having problems and had disabled them, but that's about it. Anyone know if they can be enabled in any way now or will i just have to wait for the FSFX immersion package?

Hello everybody, Long time lurker here but finally my first post in this terrific community! Having spent my holiday in Canada during the last four weeks, I was struck by the beauty of BC, and in particular Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Back home, I decided to relive the memories in FSX and went for a search for appropriate add-ons and quickly found the terrific Vancouver+. Unfortunately, the links for purchase are no longer valid and Simmarket seems to have dropped the item from their catalogue. Does anyone have an idea how to obtain this scenery? Thanks in advance ? I note that TSS have a new HD sound pack on the market for the Twin Otter. On reading through the product description however, I began to wonder what aircraft they had recorded this from when I read the last two features included in this package ........ "This soundpackage includes the following : Total of 73 soundfiles. External engine sounds. Internal engine sounds. Wind sounds. Cockpit environment sounds. Geardown sounds. Gearup sounds." Hello, Community. I installed yesterday the Freeware Airport EDDF Frankfurt aM by Mark Albridge (v8). Generally the scenery works really fine and looks really great but there are partially buildings by the default EDDF FSX Scenery on the EDDF AddOn Scenery by Mark Albridge. I made some pictures where you can see how it should look like and how it actually looks. For Example there are still brown default fsx airport building on and infront of the Lufthansa terminal. Hey! I use Scenery Configurator for my scenerys in FSX. But it appears it stopped working since an Java Update I think... I get this error message: The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted. The system cannot find the file specified. I have a lot of AI aircraft with no sounds. Can I create a soundaI folder and alias the sound to another similar plane? Does the similar plane have to have a soundai or can I just alias it to the similar planes sound folder? I assume I have to add a line Sound= in the aircraft.cfg of the AI plane as there is no reference for sound. Any help sure would be appreciated. . Thanks.

I know how to program FMC, but I got stuck on entering airway "NATB". I found that I should enter coordinates instead of "NATB" and they are 53N020W-53N030W-53N040W-52N050W. I have been using FSX for many years and have not ran into this problem until upgrading to Windows 10. After I would uninstall the game for some reason I started to get the error 1722 code. I googled and found many posts sending me to this tool posted by Microsoft. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/928080 I used this to reset the licensing and after I could easily download FSX. I recently reset my computer and tried downloading FSX but it gave me the error again. I went to the site to download the tool but that does not work for some reason now. If anyone knows how to get passed this error 1722 code in another way it would be very helpful. Thank you.

So, I'm starting to rebuild my FSX:SE install and thinking of a few things now that I also have a new computer on the way. I have the AivlaSoft EFB product, purchased for the box version of FSX, and I'm looking to add either Active Sky Next (since it's DLC now) or AS16 for the weather engine. I have two questions: 1) Can the EFB and AS16/ASN products be run on a networked computer, reducing overhead on the FSX:SE machine? (I'm fairly certain EFB can be run on a network computer for the boxed edition, but how successful is it with the Steam Edition?) 2) Conversely, should I worry about this given the following specs on the new PC: i5 6600k 16 gigs DDR4 ram GTX 9…

I am having trouble restoring my rex 4 textures to what they looked like before installing. Every time I click restore rex tells me that it has restored but when I fly in FSX I can still see the rex textures. Is there a way to get rid of the textures?

Is there anywhere where I can at least get realistic-looking jetways? The default look like they're new and they just don't look real.

Why do the WOAI push back from the gate in a spinning formation? They spin 180 degrees towards the other direction and begin taxiing normally. It's awfully weird, I've reinstalled them, why are they just doing that?

Hi lads, I recently had to do a system restore and ever since, I have not been able to revert back to FSX. I have disabled redirection within the tool itself and when I go to open FSX it says that the migration tool has disabled FSX and to disable redirection in the tool, which I have already done. Hey everyone, first time poster but long time Avsim and WOAI user. I recently downloaded FSX on my new Dell XPS 15 and begun the process of downloading all my favorite WOAI airlines. All the aircraft made by FAIB are appearing black; I've tried everything suggested to me by fellow simmers and nothing has worked. I have tried reinstalling WOAI, reinstalling the AA package (the only FAIB aircraft here, the 738, is black; I'm using it as my test), extracting the files for manual installation and proceeding to copy/paste the two files inside the texture folder into FSX/Scenery/World/Texture, and checking the aircraft.cfg document to make sure the "texture=" sections do n…
