Decided to upgrade to Windows 10 followed by a clean re-install of FSX-SE. All went well until I tried to install 737 Pilot in Command ad it just will not install, I get the initial screen but after it disappears. Has anyone experienced this ad found a cure?? Thanks raffer

Hallo, Anybody know if there is a way to have a parking gate illuminated? The only light is coming from the windows of the terminal waiting area and vehicle headlights (not realistic - should be spot lights on the terminal building or pole lights). It is difficult to see (GSX operation) if you arrive after dark. Thanks Juergen

I have had no previous problems with fsx, after windows 10 was updated the other day, whenever fsx is started, I get the message 'Flight Simulator CANNOT run without a valid sceney.cfg. Please uninstall and reinstall simulator.' I have tried this many times, including validating the files but I cannot fix the problem. All addons have also been removed but there is still no success. Has anyone experenced this problem before and what should I do? Thanks, James

I love clouds. I've used them in real life, or rather the thermals that make them, to keep my glider up. And on FSX don't they look just like the real thing. But, my clouds get between the spot plane and the helicopter I'm flying. That's a serious nuisance when I'm reviewing a recorded flight and keep losing sight of the heli because one of FSX's lovely cumulus has wandered between me in the spotplane and the heli I'm trying to watch. Shouldn't the clouds stay behind the helicopter? How can I put things right?

Hi all, I've recently inherited a surface pro 3 that I've got on my Windows 10 home network. I should be able to something cool with it in FSX:SE, no? I was thinking moving map, flight planner, maybe radio stack. I just don't know what's out there and what's good that will add to realism. Suggestions welcome! Thanks, sg

Hi Using pm with the pm aircraft model. If the altitude in the mcp is reset before the T/D, the aircraft begins to descent immediately. It does not hold the current altitude till the T/D. Any suggested fixes? Ted

HI, too much obsolete stuff and corrupted files convinced me to do a reinstall of my 6 years old FSX setup. But I ran into an annoying problem: when I run the installer of my FSX Gold Version, starting with Disk 1, it tells me it cannot install because "You cannof upgrade between standard and deluxe versions of FSX, uninstall first" and aborts immediately. I double checked my Installed software list, used CCleaner and ran an MS ulitity that is supposed to fix issues regarding uninstallations. All without success. I am using Win7 64bit. Anyone knows what else I could do? Delete registry entries manually? If so, how do I find them?

I know this topic has been talked about before, but none actually matched my problem or helped me out so I try it again: Until last week, my FSX was running really smooth, with no problems. I have installed ORBX Global, Vector, OpenLC, fly with the Real Air Turbine Duke and the PMDG MD11. I have some freeware airports installed, but not a a huge mess. Even during starts with the MD11, I had no really slow FPS, although I don't know the exact value. But it was smooth! 2 weeks ago, REX4 was available at a reduced price, so I gave it a try. Hello guys! I am currently thinking about switching from my Boxed FSX to another platform. Either FSX:SE or P3D V3. The only thing which is continuously preventing me from doing that... is incompatibility of some addons. Most notably AES (which I enjoy using with combination of GSX). I have approximately 20 - 30 FPS in PMDG 737NGX at the payware scenery. It's not bad... but it could still be better. What I would like to ask... should I really switch? And to which platform? My biggest issue with P3D is the huge price, and also you need to buy some addons again. From PMDG for exapmle. My HW specs: Intel Core i7 3770K OC to 4.3 GHz 16 GB of RAM Nvidia GTX 6…

Hi, Thinking of getting the Flight 1/Coolsky DC9 as I'm really into older generation airliners. What are people's views on this product? Also, I understand it must be navigated using VOR to VOR methods. How do you guys go about flight planning these sort of routes. For RNAV equipped aircraft like the NGX I use Flight Aware which works quite well, but this would be a bit more difficult for the DC9, especially since particularly in Europe a lot of high altitude airways don't use VOR intersections as fixes anymore. Hey! I want to know from which sound file the default background sound on Apron comes in FSX? I have made a video so that you can hear what I talk about: You have to turn up the volume I think because on youtube it is much more silent than on my PC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY2LY-_rLQg I want to change either the volume of the file to something more silent or I create a complete new background soundfile... but I couldnt find it in FSX so far. Hi guys. Need some help here. I didn't post this in the CTD board because I'm not having a crash with these tools. Here's what's been happening: I've used FSX with FXAA without any problems. No crashes whatsoever, and my FSX looked great. However, I bought a new PC and had to reinstall everything, including FXAA. The problem is, whenever I start FSX, the FSX screen appears and after a little while it dissapears, and FSX doesn't load. This doesn't generate any entries on the event viewer. So, I tried deleting the d3dl.dll from the FSX folder and FSX starts normally, however, I don't get any effects pressing the Pause key (for FXAA) or the Scroll Lock key (for SweetFX).…

Hello, Please help me find my FSX bottleneck. Everything is fine mid air but when my plane is moving through a downloaded detailed scenery (f.e. Aerosoft airports) it gets really laggy. MBO: ASROCK 970 PRO 3 R2.0 CPU: AMD FX X6 66300 3.5GHZ, SIX CORE VGA: RADEON R9 390X, 8GB DDR5 HDD: SEAGATE ST1000DM003, 7200RPM RAM: 8GB, DDR3 OS: Win 10, 64bit I've read countless posts and some of them suggest that FSX has trouble utilizing multiple AMD cores. Correct? If yes, any way I could fix that? Thank you!

Hi guys, I am experiencing problems with the ISG panel retrofits for these two types of aircraft from CLS. I replaced the panel.cfg with the ISG-ones. As soon as I select these aircraft in FSX, the simulation CTD's. Did I forget an important step during the implementation? Please help me with this issue. Hi guys, just building a new computer. I've purchased a 250gb ssd and a 1tb hdd. Would it be OK to install Windows 10 and fsx on the ssd? I've seen a few threads about storing the 2 on different ones. Where's best for all the addons? I also play stuff like omsi and ets2 but I guess these could be installed on the hdd as they don't take that long to load anyway. Appreciate your help guys.

It increased my fps by 8-10 in e.g. Orbx KFHR, 74S and KBVS in FSX Gold, nVidia GTX780, 4790k 4.3 GHz, single monitor. Hope some of you will enjoy a better running sim just as I do! Hey everyone :smile: Im desinging my own small pop-up "universal panel" in FS Panel Studio.This mini panel will use default MS gauges only and will have stuff like an autopilot, ADI, HSI etc. I want it for use in the VC of planes I fly a lot like the default CRJ. However what I do NOT want to do is have to go into EACH planes panel folder and edit the panel.cfg it to show my mini panel :blink: Could someone advise me on how to go about setting this up please? So that when I press a certain key combo the mini panel shows up in ANY plane? Do I create my own folder in the gauges folder? I want the mini panel in a single location and from there FSX would look …

Hi guys, I've just done a flight in the 777 from KMCO to EGKK. Flight was uneventful and fairly smooth, however my fps tanked at KMCO. On loading it was initially 25-30fps, but as I began setting everything up it dropped to about 12fps in the VC! I carried on, and then after pushback and during taxi it rose again to around 20fps, which is fine. Shortly after i took of from 18R, it suddenly dropped to 7-8fps, which made the aircraft almost unflyable! It was only as I climbed further away that it rose again to 30fps, where it stayed pegged for the rest of the flight (including landing at LGW). I can reproduce this - whenever I take off from 18R, it drops to 8fps just af…
