Hi, after running both FSX boxed and FSX Steam Edition in parallel for some weeks for testing purposes, I finally decided to uninstall both of them and only reinstall a clean version of FSX Steam Edition (which is performing much better on my system, for the records), having care to remove all remaining folders, remove all FSX related addons and clean the registry, as explained here in several topics. I also used CCleaner to help me find any signs of obsolete paths and other remnants of previous installs and addons within the Registry. Hi all -- re-installed FSX with the idea of purchasing FSLabs 320 until the P3D version comes out and having an issue I've never had before. I use my spacebar and mouse to pan and have done this for years but for some reason after my install it will not work in FSX. I press my spacebar and get the + symbol but when I move my mouse the screen is frozen and will not pan. I'm stumped on this one and not sure how to resolve. Can a previous Ezdok install/uninstall have affected this? Appreciate your input, thanks in advance. Mike Another thought, could Trackir be affecting it somehow? Would be the scenery update, airports / airfields and navaids, that they use for DTG Flight School. When I bought DTG FS I was surprised to find that even my small agricultural airfield was there. The runway is not the latest ( last year ) data, but still very good. Other airports around Europe had their runways consistent with recent data, and not the old FSX stuff... It would be great to be able to update to DTG FS databases, even if for a price...

Hello, This is a list of the less known / hard to find fixes to little bugs in FSX sp2. 1) Texture.cfg: In the "SimObjects" folder of FSX, you will find a lot of objects used the simulator. Each one having a "texture" subfolder. In these "texture" folders there is a 'texture.cfg' file. In this file, the line "fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture" should be corrected as: fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture 2) Missing models: In the "SimObjects\GroundVehicles" folder, 2 vehicles are incorrect: - "VEH_air_firetruck_sm" is missing the "model" folder completely. Hi Folks I have had this a couple of times when FSX just decides to stop, and i am at a blank screen. Seems FSX is still there somewhere?? I click on the icon in the middle of the monitor and nothing happens. Whatever I do does not result in any retrieval of my flight. My only recourse that i see is to shut the computer down. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Every time I fire up FSX=SE, I get this error. Click Ok and re-start FSX-SE, and it loads the sim normally after that. Has anyone seen this type of error when first firing up FSX-SE, or an idea what is causing this, and how to rectify it? Thanks.

Hi Folks, Due to my HD and MOBO failing, I've just got a completely new build PC, and it's come with a 128Gb SSD, in addition to the standard 1TB Hard Drive. I've read people saying the SSDs are good re: FSX, but I'm just wondering how to utilize it? Should I move FSX onto the SSD? (It's currently in the standard location) ........ of should I leave FSX where it is, and just put my scenery into the SSD, and then "point" the FSX Scenery Library to it (via SceneryConfigEditor) ? Hi guys, I searched in the forum but didn't found recent posts on this argument; so I decided to open a new thread about the very essential changes you should make, in your opinion, in FSX.CFG I run FSX:SE DX10 (Steave FX) on a not up-to-date machine so, out of the box, with MD11, NGX and DASH8 and ASN (on client pc) I got about 18-21 fps on ground with 70% of AI traffic But I'm curios about: 1) do you use HT? 2) AffinityMask 3) FFTF 4) other? Flight One has released an update, or perhaps a new gauge entirely from the RXP offerings we had. The GNS 530 was my favorite in FS9, the overall appearance and functionality made it great. I can't remember if they integrated TCAS or Wx. I know things were added later. Nevertheless, F1 has added a tool to replace the old GNS's so they work in newer sims. I am unsure if the older planes I had with the RXP GNS would even play in FSX:SE or not. Anyone looking at these? I already have the GTN which seems to have a lot more features (TCAS, on screen entry, charts, ect..). I do think the GNS's look better though (e.g., color, screen display). I guess I hope Re…

Hi, I just noticed that flight plan function on GPS units on all my standard FSX planes are not working. Both G500 and G1000. If I have no flight plan loaded before starting the flight and FPL is pressed on the GPS the inner and outer knobs do nothing. Same for the cursor (middle) button. Same thing happens on G1000. Is there a fix? I am using FSX-SE and Win7x64. I would post a screen shot but I am getting errors. Pay ware planes seem to work.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or could direct me to a freeware DC-9 panel that is compatible in FSX:SE, for the classic -10 through -50 series? Ultimately, I'd intend on using it with the SGA series of models. I absolutely loved the Stellan Hilmerby panel in FS9, was one of my favorite freeware packages of the era. Sadly, I understand it's not compatible in FSX though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Which of these is higher quality? I was looking at screenshots on FSDTs website, and these airports look kinda outdated graphically. I want both of these airports, but is it worth buying right now, or are they planning on updating these airports? I read somewhere that KLAS is getting updated in the future sometime, so if I were to buy it now- would I get the updated version free when it comes out? Right now I have KPHX by Flightbeam, and the quality is so darn good that KLAS or KLAX might look un-appealing to me. So would it be best to wait on KLAS-KLAX to be updated to HD remakes? Maybe buy KDEN or KSFO instead for the meantime?

The Captain Sim 757 is quite amazing, beautiful. Better than QualityWings. Love how it doesn't have a frame rate kill, yet for some people it does. One issue: VC eyepoint. Does someone have an eyepoint recommendation that I can edit in the aircraft.cfg? I think the eyepoint is way to high, making the cockpit look small.

If anyone has experience running the Quality Wings BAe 146 in FSX:SE, I'd appreciate any comments about how well or poorly it works, including the livery manager.

I want to install TIST by TROPICALSIM as the airport looks good, but the surrounding photoscenry is very low res as the airport is from 2010 and it also adds exclusion zone for autogen,honestly FTX Global,Vector,and NALC look much better than this dated photo coverage any ideas on how to install it without the extra baggage lol? Hey guys! I have a number of videos (recorded using standard FSX options), and I'm trying to analyze them and see how well I performed on those flights. For that I used an FDR add-on which basically records my altitude, speed, and other parameters with a certain interval (e.g., 1/100 sec) into a .csv file. However, I'm also willing to see how good I followed the GPS track, so now I'm looking for a similar thing but for the default Cessna 172's G1000. Being more specific, I just need XTK parameter (deviation from the GPS track). Has anyone ever seen an add-on like this?

Looking for technical reasons why choose FPS 30 vs. FPS Unlimited. It seems to me that if you set 30 then it will limit data going to either the CPU and/or GPU? Unlimited would not do the check for a limit and perhaps send more data (faster) to the CPU/GPU? What other factors need to be considered in choosing one over the other? ALL comments, ideas, suggestions or advice appreciated.

This is so much harder than EZdok, but ezdok doesn't do weather. All I am trying to do is figure out how to make a single button on my yoke CYCLE through my made cameras in my virtual cockpit. I don't want to make outside cameras, no 2d camers. I like my normal fsx outside cameras and my 2d camera. I have no trouble making my camera view in the captain seat. I can also make one in the first officers seat,. I don't want to assign another button for each view, I just want ONE SINGLE BUTTON to cycle through my VC cameras? Why is this so difficult? Hey, so I seem to be having a problem with Wilcos 7x. Whenever I takeoff and im in the "Cabin view", the wingflex from inside the cabin seem to almost come over the wing and like the wing still stay there if you know what I mean. Like Some part of th wing flexes but it almost looks lik as if another part of the wing is static. Any suggestions?

Out of nowhere by FSX-SE is asking me to insert the disc in D-Drive...Which is kinda funny...Anyway, it crashes soon afterwards...My question is, can I re-intsall over the top of my present installation or completely remove..?? (Orbx, A2a stuff galore !!)... I have been using Win-10 pretty much flawlessly for over a month..The only new add-on was EZDOK, which was not playing well with FSX but worked fine with P3D....Should I completely remove or over the top..? I set the Dynamic up cold & dark (used a saved plan from another aircraft, set time & location then called up a Dynamic). After starting the engine I noted that the charging warning light was still lit. I went for a fly around and used the autopilot for some of it. After a short time I noticed the navigation lights were no longer on, nor would the autopilot switch operate; it would click but not animate, and the pop up display no longer had hdg and alt in it. Is this a bug, or some kind of systems modelling where if you lose the alternator, then systems shut down once the battery begins to drain below a certain level?
