Hi all, Just looking for some help with my future purchasing roadmap, so that I can start with a platform that can be upgraded in the future to something that will run FSX/P3D a lot more quickly than I can today. So things I know: 1. FSX is processor intensive and cannot take advantage of multicore systems effectively. Therefore clock-speed is the primary concern. 2. GPUs do help in post-processing, so if you like bloom and anti-aliasing etc, they have a purpose 3. Clouds are a problem, but depend quite a lot on the GPU as well as the CPU So what I do not know is: 1. Have the guys re-factoring the code for FSX or P3D done enough yet to move the proce…

Some days ago when I started FSX this error message appeared. I also got a major uppdate from MS with more protection of the computer, which I guess caused this message so now FSX runs like as I am testing it before buying it and after a while it stops, thanking me for the test. It is the boxed version. I thought that uninstalling and reinstalling it would solve this problem but in vain. Half a day wasted. So the issue must be in Win10. Maybe I should delete these uppdates if I can find them. What do you people think??? I have looked in the MS support but there is nothing there concerning Win10. I am running FSX SE with Steve Direct X fixer, ASN and FTX global. I installed FSL labs airbus. I launch the sim. Load the trike and shut engine down. Then I switch to FSL Labs airbus and I get the following message: "could not load FSL Options DLL". Then then sim crashes. This happens every single time. Does anyone have any ideas? I have posted on the FSl website but awaiting an answer, so I thought I'd ask here as well.

I downloaded the updated Magnetic Variation file from here: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html The readme file indicates when I copy the MAGDEC.BGL to the \SCENERY\BASE\SCENERY\ folder replacing the current one (I backed it up to another location), Flight Simulator will rebuild its index at first launch and the new magnetic variations will be applied. In FSX SE this did not happen. I went to PANC and the runways should have changed from 6L and 6R to 7L and 7R, etc but didn't...24 to 25 etc Anyone using FSX SE apply this update successfully? Hey guys, your personal opinion is asked! I think about buying the dash for more than a year now. I was close to buy as they announced pro version (that was a sign from the flightsim-god, praise him) :-) so I was waiting for it. Okay, but now I want to know if it is ready, in a post below or so I read that the dash pro is a beta? Doesnt know that, as there is no info on there page. All in all here in the forum I couldnt see that much reports of bugs, is this the real picture of the dash? What do you say, should I go for it? Thank you very much!

Thanks I came across a really great new sound pack for the PMDG NGX, in the AVSIM File Library yesterday. It's a relatively new sound pack for the NGX (released in December past). It's by SkyHigh Audio. Personally I think it's an improvement over the stock PMDG sounds for the NGX. The engine sounds are more muted or muffled a little, which sound more realistic for what you'd hear from the flight deck of an NG. They are lower frequency (more bass), so more 'rumble' based. I just installed the Hifi Tech ASCA and AS16 and I want to say that it is not related to the issue I am having but it seems that in less than 2 minute intervals I will experience a lag spike (lasting anywhere from 3-5 sec.) yet I am maintaining 25+ Frames. I also recently activated my Trackir after sometime in my cabinet and I am wondering if this could be causing it? Feedback is always appreciated.

Shalom and greetings all my pals, I have not been flying on FSX for almost a month because my current 4 or 5 year old laptop's FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 is no longer working due to some stupid D3D11.DLL error and there is something screwed up in Windows 7 in my four or five year old laptop which is working fine and very fast in all other softwares. FSX and IE are the only things that are not working in my laptop that passed all scan tests and diagnostic tests with flying colors meaning that there is something wrong with some Windows files that prevent FSX and IE from operating. I look at the drives of my new MSI laptop and saw two drives: OS install C: 189 GB free of 237 GB and data D: 913 GB free of 913 GB. I assume that drive C is SSD drive and drive D is 7,200 rpm drive. Where am I supposed to install FSX into?? Can I install FSX into drive D that is labeled data? I know that FSX is going to take about 100 to 150 GB and I do not want to put FSX into drive C: that has OS Install and only 189 GB free. I plan to install P3D too but do not want it on drive C with limited space Does your laptop or computer show same arrangement of two drives? I do not know why MSI puts program files, program files x86 and windows into SSD drive that has only 23…

I have installed FSDT KLAX into FSX, but now I have the default FSX KLAX and the FSDT scenery on top of each other. What are the scenery priority settings in order to prevent this?

Hi there, I wasn't able to use my FSX sim for almost a year and as I'm about to start flying again I realized how much you do forget and I've been watching quite a few vids on line to refresh the memory. Especially PMDG aircraft. But one thing keeps on bugging me and that is the fact that I used FSX flight plans as well as Route Finder. On the Cdu's I would sort it out a bit and it would work good. But I would like to know that if you use only for example, the Route Finder and feed the Cdu if your plan will work ok? Why two flight plans after all? Also check out Alexander Metzger's flight models for default FSX aircraft - some of which are very good. None of the default aircraft are fantastic, but some are decent. Overall I think the C172, DHC-2 Beaver and J3 Cub are the best of the bunch in terms of realism. I quite like the F/A-18 as well, and the P-51 Racer isn't all bad. Worst of the bunch are the B58 Baron, B350 King Air and Mooney which hold FS2002 standards. I'm no big fan of the big jets, but mods for the B737 can make it fun (Check out the Boing 737 NG Mega Packs).

I've recently bought myself a top end laptop in order to play, amongst other games, FSX. I'm at the "tweaking" side of things now where I'm just trying to get it running absolutely perfectly so that I can enjoy it for flying rather than trying to fault find. I'll ask here because at the QW forums, this question has been asked multiple times, but no one seems to have a clue. There have been people asking about it for months, with no official response. Trying to run QW 757 on FSX.When you start up, the plane has no VC, the main gear is missing and the spoilers and flaps are fully deployed and won't retract. I've tried every suggestion made and nothing fixes it. Have disabled UAC, Defender and used run as administrator to install it. The FSX install is fresh. And the QW757.gau file size is only 1k. Hi all, I have an issue with my iFly 747 installed on FSX. The altitude tape seems messed up and I do not know how to trouble shoot this issue. Perhaps someone of you know what is causing this? At 2000ft. I get the ''0 feet/Ground Level'' "feather". I tried to reset general settings from U.S. System to Hybrid, but I guess that was an action for a different problem. Hi everyone, I don't know if someone can help me at all, the guys over at the HJG Forum have been trying to help but haven't had any luck so far. I am using the HJG hosted 727's in FSX (not SE) with the correct (latest) HGJ panels and core files fitted and Benoit's fantastic jet sound file. Lately it has started to develop a funny sound issue. I load the flight with the default trike and then change to any of the 727's (100's or 200's) with the engines running. I get the sound of the jets idling and the clicking background cockpit sounds. When I power up to start moving, the sounds are all fine until the aircraft starts to physically move, then all the panel…

Recently my FSX has been crashing after getting the error message...."application blocked graphics hardware" It does not happen all the time, but when it happens, it is usually when I am in at cruise altitude. Has anyone had this problem? If so, is there a fix? Thanks for any help. Does anyone know if there will be new tech simulator offered to fsx se users? Payware pmdg 737 vs ifly 737, pmdg 777 considering prices and difficulty of use any comments on first time payware purchase and if add on Ceibr Intercontinental 777 flys ok on your system will pmdg 777 be more demanding on your system, also any news on pmdg 747 new upgrade? I use RC4 with almost every flight and on occasion I'm asked to 'cross 40nm from XYZ at ALT'. I can do this easily with FMCs found in AC like the 737, but wasn't sure if setting something similar up in the Q400 was possible. Has anyone done this? If so, care to share how it's done?

How can dovetail fixed stability problems or crash bugs if they can´t make changes into the core simulator files? After almost 150 hours nailing the base aircraft I am finally ready to transition into the PMDG 737. The only problem being my lack of aviation knowledge; I need help trying to learn how the aircraft works and the systems and in particular the FMC and Autopilot. Does anyone have any good tips or could recommend any guides/youtube videos that will help me get underway? Also, LNav and VNav what are they and what do they do? Cheers
