Hi All, Recently a win 8.1 update stopped most things on my pc from working properly and caused FSX to run very slowly. I've fixed most of it by rolling back and undoing most of the damage, but while doing this, I noticed the following: If I watch Task Manager when starting up FSX, the first three minutes are spent with FSX doing nothing and Task Manager reporting "Not Responding". After this delay FSX starts loading from the hard disk and eventually starts. Does anyone know what this "Not Responding" delay is caused by, and if there is a way of eliminating it, or reducing it? Greetings! I am looking for a instant approach tool for FSX Gold (boxed edtion) so that I can practice my approaches. Based on my research on Google, I've found two so far: 1. FSiPanel, and 2. FS Instant Approach PRO 2015 by FSInventions. Correct me if I'm wrong but with FSiPanel only limited add-on aircrafts are supported, but with FS Instant Approach pro you can use ANY aircraft. Is this right? Which of these two work best? Is there any other ones that exist too? Please list any instant approach tools that exist out there that I'm not aware of. I mainly fly the B757, and it's currently not supported with FSiPanel. Any help on this will be very much appreciated.…

Hi I saw some youtube landing videos of pmdg ngx I see that VC has to mouve right left with good touch down sound. Idont have these landing animations It lands like a car .no mouvment no effects Thnks

Yesterday I installed Aerosoft's SimStarterNG. It was a disaster. It produced all kinds of graphic problems including totally screwing up Orbx texture placement, so I uninstalled it, looking carefully for any hidden files left behind. (Yes, of course there were several)... But the problems continued. I thought maybe if I reinstalled it and got it to only do "default" tasks it might fix the problems it created. No such luck. I have used the FSX-SE "fixer" but it didn't make any difference. Obviously, the place to go to find a solution is the developer's website but to be honest, I haven't had the best of experiences there in the past. Any suggestions?

When I fly using FSX-SE, after the flight I notice that I have many saved flights that are in my Documents/FSX Files folder. I have FSUIPC set to only save 2 in the autosave section. There are no saved files in the FSX Steam Edition Files however. Why would this happen and why do I have a folder for FSX files and one for FSX SE files?

Hi, I‘ve created my own liveries of common airlines because everyone gets bored by those default paints. I use the basic white explosion view and paint it, create a new texture file and modify the aircraft.CFG. Afterwards I can easily choose it. Is this way also possible for AI traffic airlines? If yes, where can I find it? I don’t want to buy addons for this. Thank you. Chris

Flightbeam have released a V2 upgrade for its KDEN scenery (for FSX and P3Dv4). I installed it into FSX this evening and it provides a significant performance improvement over their previous version of KDEN and the VAS footprint for this large airport is also significantly less while retaining the excellent quality for which Flightbeam has become renowned. Just started recently. Will be taxiing at an airport and from the virtual cockpit some buildings disappear then later reappear. Have only noticed this at default airports so far. If I switch to external views the buildings are always there. Only seems to affect views from the VC. I have all my Scenery Display sliders to the far right except Mesh Resolution, which I have set to 2M, and Water Effects set to 2.x Low. Airplane model I have noticed this in is the RealAir TDv2.

Hi! Today on a flight from DEN-ABQ in the 737ngx, I paused the flight while I had lunch, only to find that when I unpaused the flight, a white blank screen covered everything. Wondering if there is a fix. Thanks in advance!

I've begun using SimBrief again, I'm hoping to install Multicrew tomorrow in an effort to perform aircraft functions. Here's my problem, fueling. FSXPilot allows me to enter a percentage, but I'm not sure how to convert the block fuel that SimBrief gives me and do that. GSX's MCE integration allows me to simply say the amount of KG I want. This is a subject that is really getting to me about FSX, and I have spoken about it in the PMDG library, but I think it was a bad place to talk about it. I need an app that will generate a flight plan for FSX:SE and make it so that I can import it into FSX:SE and a 3rd party aircraft such as the PMDG 737. I have tried SimBrief, but if I export the plan to PMDG and FSX, they don't match up, in that the aircraft flies a number of miles out of alignment. Hi, I installed the Carenado SAAB 340 this morning and flew it at EGPD (UK2000 Free Scenery).It ran fine. However, when I tried to fly it at LOWI (ORBX Scenery) and it was running at 10fps and when I tried to take a screenshot, it crashed. It crashed multiple times before I was able to do that. However I have not tried the Lite livery (I don't really want to ). My Specs: Intel i7-6770HQ Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 8GB RAM 128GB SSD (Windows Drive) 1TB HDD (Stores all games)

Hi All Some help required if possible I recently reinstalled a boxed cd of FSX Gold -on a new super duper computer (Win10) -a copy of which I had previously installed on my old computer (Win 7) I wanted to fly with some photoreal sceneries ,planes and some airstrips no longer available in P3Dv4.2- my main sim All is good except for Aerosofts Dangerous Airports-Mountain Air in particular 2NC0 It is missing buildings,has a rather blurred runway etc Anything I could try? xxd09

Hi I'm trying to get started with FSX and I'm having trouble switching between FSX and another Window (such as a browser). I can use ALT+TAB as you would normally to come out of FSX, and the icon remains in the task bar at the bottom of the screen, but when I try to go back in to FSX, it doesn't normally work. I have tried ALT+TAB, right-clicking on the icon and selecting FSX, but nothing happens. When I look in my Tasks list on the PC, it does say that FSX is running, but the option to switch to it is greyed out. This means I have to kill FSX. It is not useful when you are using SimBrief and you have to get some of the data from there to enter into the FM…

when i deploy my flaps for takeoff or landing on the dc 9 sky aviation i just bought it today and when i deploy my flaps it glitches back to its normal position same with the spoiler it glitches back into its normal postion

Hello Guys, two questions for real pilots: 1. In my FCOM the first flight of the das flow and check is followed by the turnaround flow and check. But where do I start, when I already performed a flight on that day? I‘d say the shutdown flow and check completes flight 1 and the turnaround check and flow starts flight no 2, is that correct? 2. The hole chapter normal operations doesn‘t say to check the GPWS, why is that so? already tried to ask at the Aerosoft forum, but their trips and tricks thread seams to be abandoned since September. I purchased Quality Wings 757 for my FSX. Thought I could just jump in and fly but apparently you have to start from cold. Actually most of the stuff in the cockpit is working but I get this error ERR: Startup Error , Unable to start QW757-4. Do you have to start this aircraft from cold for everything to work correctly? Hello there everyone, So I purchased the airport enhancer and I went in to change the texture for the Runways and Taxiways and managed to install them successfully. But the main issue I have is it only changes the texture of the international airport Runways and Taxiways, and doesn't change the general aviation airports. Reno Stead Airport (4SD) is one of the ones that it doesn't change. It changes it from default to asphalt textures when I want concrete textures. It installs the correct textures on the international airports to concrete textures but it basically leaves the general aviation airports and municipal airports with unwanted asphalt textures. Plea…

hi there, i know it's not a new add-on but i was wondering if anyone could tell me the 'requirements' in order to get VNAV working on the feelthere e-jets v2 (175 and 195). I've tried following the manual but i must be missing something as VNAV just will not arm or select for me after take-off. i was hoping someone with experience of this addon might be able to give a list of things that must be satisfied in order for VNAV to work in this unusual bird. eg.... - A/T on and armed - Speed controller set to FMS - Climb power set ? - etc - etc thanks in advance if anyone can help james

Early during every FSX startup, while the intro / splash screen is visible, a pop up states the scenery configuration is rebuilding. I know that FSX must read the scenery.cfg (and much more) during startup, But in the past, all this was invisible (no pop ups). Otherwise FSX seems to behave as normal. Just wondering what I might have done to cause the scenery rebuild pop up to appear during each FSX start. And if this might be indicative of further probs. Best to all, Ken
